I probably could have used coco but saving it up for another grow in the future. I don't like using peat much it retains more water, making over watering an issue later on in growth I find

It's hard to over watering as it holds 30oxygen at all times .

Oh I love coco just want to save it for a future grow. Pennywise got me into it and I was hooked on my first coco run. Unfortunately I couldn't finish grow I had to move

Thay are old seeds, were in the bottom of the dresser drawer for 17 years or maybe longer LOL was some good bud back in the day..
24 hour soak and then to paper towel on 12/25 Im still keeping my fingers crossed but its not looking good at this point. Have some ga3 on its way, but out of seeds.
Does my soil mix seem ok?? Running a 2x2x4 and a 2x4x6 with mars hydro 300w and 400w lights... the 400 should be here today?

The mix seems fine. Maybe just a bit too old but other have done it successfully. I'm sure with newer seeds it will make things much easier.

17 years is a long time, especially if they weren't stored "properly", but keep in mind that there have been 4000 years and older seeds found by archaeologists that have been successfully germinated after being buried in clay pots in old caves, so never give up hope.

I have on occasion coaxed life out of stubborn seeds by doing a 2nd soak cycle after a few days in paper towel. just dont let them soak longer than 12 hours the second time around, then return to fresh towel and wait a few more days. This is a last resort option tho.

I've done the same thing with 13 year old seeds and it worked just took a bit longer then I was planning for

Also, if you aren't already, I strongly advise using an improvised humidome like mine here during paper towel phase. Keeps the towel nice and moist, don't need to worry about it drying out overnight and killing the poor babies.

Lol i love the turned over dish for a quick and simple humidome i usually use a baggie but that looks cooler.
