Chocolope - Day 20 of Flower

Thinking I may be running a tad short on a micronutrient maybe...nothing crazy, but upper most leaves are yellowing faster than I feel they should be..mostly while keeping green veins! Also have a sort of wrinkled appearance as a couple pictures show!

She definitely isnt lacking on nitrogen lol, but thats been a thing for a little while now..gave the kelp tea last week in hopes it would keep her greener, for longer. Dont want to overdo it though..so am now trying to pinpoint what might be the cause before throwing anything else at it :hmmmm:

My idea so far is maybe an iron deficiency...never really worried about deficiencies in this soil since its loaded with all kinds of stuff (rock dusts out the wazoo), but maybe I should? I have been watering pretty heavily tho. Maybe that threw things out a bit?? Temps are good, so is rh for flowering cycle!

Sooo..possible options IMO would be some TM-7 by BioAg. 7 different micronutrients with humid acids - water soluble. OR let be and not chase my tail assuming it could be a watering issue or simply yellowing due to flower cycle!!? Not sure the TM-7 could hurt anything either way so thats something to consider!

She doesn't look bad by any means! :circle-of-love: I'm just trying to keep her on a tight leash! In fact, I think she's the fastest flowering plant I've ever grown. She's pretty thick and juicy for being on day 20 (28 since flip). And still has the better part of 50 days to go :headbanger:

What do you guys think? You'll notice the top half is slightly more pale!

Thanks for following along and I appreciate any and all advice :thanks:

Hey LH - i agree the structure and all looks great. You’re using Bokashi as part. Of your setup yes? Maybe the microbiota needs a lil boost. Some compost tea with microbes (lactobacillus serum or bokashi juice etc.) might help things. That’s what i would do :)

How much longer does it have to go?

Edit: Quite a while it seems. It did a pretty active stretch so maybe the soil life just needs a big boost!

Looking good, I hear the chocolope can be a bit sensitive, I can’t tell if it’s an issue or not. What I do see is a nice sized plant that’s growing well.
Thanks for the kind words Urb! She's definitely sensitive, I will refrain from anything containing nitrogen from here on out. Those leaves curling is from a single topdressing of neem and kelp almost 2 months ago! Learned my lesson there lol

Thanks Amy :hugs: I actually just used some gro kashi last week in a tea (not aerated) I made for her..I too thought that was the answer. That is alot of plant to power tho :hmmmm:

If its the first container I mixed up, it may have a couple less cups of basalt then the rest..which comes in at 4% iron. BUT, It could just be displaying that due to soil life not being at peak health..hmm

I do have lacto and banana ffj I could try! Unfortunately I'm not setup to aerate teas but should still help a bit. Shes got ~50 days left give or take. Thanks for the helpful ideas :thanks:

I’ve never aerated a tea!

Now i’m using Docs HBB kit there’s no need either. But in either case it’s likely that there’s plenty in the soil and it’s just a matter of hooking things up with the micro life, as you say. It’s a time in the grow where some plants in particular seem to need a bit more to go on than usual. Keen to see what you decide to try and how it goes

Thats what I was hoping, and believe to be true :thumb: I went with half a dose of the TM-7 only because I had planned on using it every three months for the first year anyways (4 in total)...and only ended up using it twice lol. So ig you could say it was due for it.

I also added in the 1 tbsp a gal of FFJ and eyeballed the same with lacto thanks to your suggestion!

After watering I did notice the mites are making a small comeback, so it could very well boil down to those little bastards! Warm weather and all. I whipped out the spinosad and sprayed all the pots real good. Will now start giving foliars a couple times a week with a light mix :eye-roll:

She will be fine though, have zero doubts she will make it to harvest! Just trying to get her there with flying colors so to speak :cheesygrinsmiley: Thanks again for your help! :passitleft:

Dark Devils - Day 37 & 39

Meant to post this up yesterday. Just have a few photos of them, they aren't very photogenic! And luckily they only have to be watered every 5-6 days so I dont have to look at them too often

Lots of little purple budlets, but seem to be pretty airy..might get a quarter oz off of them LOL. They do smell good though!

And some things we plan to put out this year..not all of them, but a decent start!

Chocolope is cruising right along on day 23 of flower today. Absolutely gorgeous buds, starting to look pretty greasy! Stack baby stack :lot-o-toke:

I dont normally like to spray anything on my flowers, but summer months evidently call for it around here. She recieved her first spinosad bath last night mixed up at half strength - or 2 tbsp/gal.

Have been considering only growing through the months of September-March...only to avoid these nasty little critters! Just a thought at the moment but man they are such a pain and require so much more "hands on" time. Something thats very difficult for me in the summer months, especially if I want to garden outdoors! And I've taken an extreme liking to it :circle-of-love:

In another year or two we should have a greenhouse, and that should solve any "down time" issues :thumb:

... :thumb::high-five:...cheerz...h00k...:hookah:...
Thanks man! :thumb:..:passitleft:
Do a deep clean of your grow room and everything in it.
Ive tried it all Penny :eye-roll: tbh I still dont know what they even are...BUT, they have never stopped me from getting my crop. But they do seem to damage them pretty good though. And they definitely put me on edge lol! I honestly dont even think the spinosad works, but might help. Which is good enough I suppose..

The only thing I havent tried is sulfur burning (and bullshit nasty pesticides I refuse to touch), and I've thought about that pretty hard! Im not terribly bitter about it though, it would give my brain/body a much needed break during the summer months.

I have what most people would say is one of the shittier jobs a person could have during this time lol. "All brawn, no brains" ive heard that many times...furthest thing from the truth but funny nonetheless! Cheers brother :passitleft:

Ohhh yeah, by the hundreds!! They're crawling all over my pots, and I've began seeing them on the petioles again as well! Same symptoms every time they come around so I've no doubt. I absolutely drenched them with a super strong spinosad mix the other day, only on the pots though....and it didnt even seem to affect them. Neem didnt work, essential oils didnt work, isopropyl didnt work...enzyme peppermint cleaner from tweetmint didnt do the trick either, and its supposed to eat their exoskeletons...leaving them vulnerable and dead!

They are insanely tough critters whatever they are...which is some kind of mite. I kinda forget now but very similar to a flour mite or mould mite. Im big on reading my plants for what they want. And every time I've encountered something I didnt quite feel was right, I would look and see anywhere from 1 to 10 chilling on the base of where the leaves connect...petioles if im not mistaken?

I've just decided no matter what I do I will have to live with them during the hotter months...not the end of the world but stressful to say the least!

Here's a few pictures, cant find the other ones...but a google search of tyrophagus mites will bring up exactly what im dealing with...the blubbery, hairy, opaque looking things with somewhat dark spots on it...towards the rear!
