DC’s Roaring 20’s Perpetual Garden!

Yeah my only gripe so far is that I’m finding the solution settling in the bottom the next day regardless of how vigorously I mix.

I see several people mentioning this suspension issue, but I still haven't seen it myself. Gotta be the drill paddle, and the best $6 I've given to Mr Bezos.

It will be a month or two most likely, but I do have a new bag of v3 sitting downstairs. All the little calcium balls are now ground up into the mix, which is nice. Seems to have been a sticking point for many. Whether or not that improves your situation, I dunno. I'm definitely on board for $25/grow vice $500/grow for my base nutrients though.

Do you use an air stone in your rez?

I do. I probably could get away without one for the dutch bucket stuff, but I'd rather not take my chances. It's not hurting anything, and keeps the air from getting stagnant between the times the mixing pump is off. I've even been considering adding one to my RO barrel. Especially since a full load will last me for 2 weeks now instead of going through a barrel and a half a week when the RDWC is running. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I have two large air stones in my res.

It will also keep things mixed up too.

Air stones are doing f all for the suspension issue! It’s not the end of the world though, I don’t have the chill in me yet to let it auto feed anyway so I just mix before and then plug the pump in

Im pouring some self levelling compound this weekend in the basement to level the floor where I’ll be framing my grow oasis room in so I’ll be buyin a paddle to mix that. I’ll give it a go and report back!

I'd buy 2. Cheap enough, and one won't have been in a bunch of concrete leveler.

However much I'm mixing, I save out 5gal and mix everything in that. So right now, I'm running 20gal in a res, so I'll drain, fill with 15 gal, then the last 5gal bucket (I fill this one to only 4.5gal, and dump the rest in the res) I mix it all.

I add in the right order for whatever I'm using. Like right now I'll add 40ml of Rhino Skin (2ml/gal), mix with the drill for a minute or so, then pH the water. Then I'll add 100ml of calmag (5ml/gal, no N), paddle again. Then 100g of MC, and paddle the shit out of it for 2 or 3 minutes. So on and so forth.

I like to leave the water level a couple inches from the top. That whole fluid dynamics crap and what not.

After that, I dump it in the res, and then once again, paddle the crap out of it. After that, I adjust the pH if necessary, add Z7, and then watch the Blue Lab for a day or so to see what's happening.

Hey all, I’ll have an update tonight the girls are looking good. I’ve been super busy renovating this week then took off to the cottage for a couple days. My AC has a wiring issue so when I got back in the middle of a heat wave RH skyrocketed to 80%!

Can anyone recommend a dehumidifier size for my 5x5? I have a free couple square feet for this reason.

My experience with dehumidifiers is to keep them outside the tent. They generate a lot of heat. I use a 70 pint unit that has an auto drain feature but there are smaller ones available.
The fans draw the air in from the room so if you keep the room RH set for whatever you want inside the tent it works well.
I know it's not much help but it's all I got for you.

Thanks Mr.S, I’ll look into it. I fixed the AC and the humidity came back down to 60% with 23C in the tent at lights on which bring me to .95 VPD so that’s great! Lights off is a little cooler and more humid but my heater kicks on and heats / dries enough for me.

Im hoping to level my floor and setup my laundry sink tomorrow and maybe frame and drywall my grow room this weekend so I’ll have a separate room to help control environment.

Sorry no pics tonight either I’ve been slacking but I can say that they all look icy and plumping up! Hopefully get you guys some pics tomorrow!

Man I’ve been busy! What started as just framing in my grow room quickly turned into finishing my basement so that is the cause of the lack of updates. Overall the plants are bulking up nicely, with trichomes and lots of white hairs. Here’s a few quick pics!

Now into week 6 I am seeing some startling signs that have progressed over the last couple weeks, that I believe have been seen with other MC growers in mid to late flower such as @multiVortex. The issues seem to be the same as I experiencedvery early on in veg which I attributed to too much MC locking out calcium. However, I held steady at only 5g per gallonsince flipping to flower At 5g into weeks 3 and 4 I noticed I was losing lower fans and they were quite yellow so last week I bumped to 5.5g. It was only last week over two feeds after already seeing some of this spotting, lower leaf yellowing and falling off that I bumped to 5.5g.

So in summary at week 6 of flower, having only been feeding 5.5g per gallon for twofeeds last week should I try continuing on to 6g, or dial back to 5g? The strawberry cream girls seem less hungry andmostly vibrant green and unaffected. The Wonder Women, also more under the lights are getting upset and appear hungrier. @MrSauga @InTheShed , hoping for some advice!

I also want to add it seems much more prevalent near the Center of the lights where they are getting a TON of light

Let's see if MrSauga agrees :).
Since you noticed the leaves at the bottom were dying off after holding at 5g/gal you responded correctly. Albeit now she's struggling faster than you can fix her. If it was too much MC(high P and K levels cause Mg lockouts) then the lower leaves would not have turned yellow, assuming you are sure the yellowing and dying off was a N def and not a Mg issue.

So Shed is correct imo of bumping it up, although I would go to 6.5g/gal because she is really missing something. If it was a Mg def then the plant will significantly worsen in a few days because now we are overfeeding.

Looks like you're in good hands DC. I think Mr S pretty much nailed it. If you bump it up as he suggests and it continues, you know you went the wrong direction. I don't think so though.

Other than some of the bottom fans, current growth looks good still.

What I've seen in a few of mine has been what I think (now) was rooted in a calmag deficiency. It creeped up, but was long enough in flower that it looked more like the plant just eating itself up. Some strains do that, some don't. Anyway, I think that was the deal with mine, and thus far I haven't seen the same issues after I increased the amount of calmag I put in the mix a pretty good bit (almost double).

For calmag I've been using the Organic CalMag made by True Plant Science. It's got great numbers for calcium and magnesium, and zero nitrogen. Runs the same as calimagic, so no loss there. And it is working out really well to boot.
