DC’s Roaring 20’s Perpetual Garden!

how does the citric acid work?
No idea how it works but I saw it was the active ingredient in Flying Skull that a lot of folks use so I made my own, testing various dilutions. Maybe it changes the pH of the leaf surface or something? Dunno but it works and doesn't damage pistils like oils do.
Good call, actually I clipped a couple overreaching branches when I cloned the other plants and decided to just put them in rapid rooters for fun. They’ve been sitting in them for like 3 weeks, same age as the clones almost without a single root. Shows how much the dome and heating pad do. Weird though the leaves are still green as can be and clones upright and all I’ve ever done is just re-wet the rooters with tap water.
I've never had luck getting roots when I leave the domes on longer than a week. After a week I start introducing fresh air a bit more every day. And I only spray the leaves and the dome when they're cut and never again. If they keep getting water through their leaves they don't need roots!

No I mean they’ve been beside the solo cup clones without a dome and in cold rapid rooters the opposite! The clones that had a dome and heat mat all rooted within a week!

Hey everyone, unfortunately things have not gone very well as of late. Work has been crazy, the new baby has been pretty demandin, not sleeping well still and I let off the gas on the WPM battle. Within a week of complacency it spread to every plant top to bottom...and I couldn’t find any more Safer Defender.

I’ve managed to battle it back pretty good by heavily spraying every inch I could with an h202 / water mixture every morning before lights out for the past 3 days which actually worked better than expected but I’ll be trashing pretty much anything that isn’t a main cola. I know it’s everywhere now, in the tent, in my room outside the tent where the clones are vegging, already found two small wpm spots on two of them.

Tomorrow I will start the harvest, I’m going dunk each cola into a h202 and water bath right away then hang to dry so the harvest process doesn’t continue to spread it. Once a little dry I will trim tight to the buds and rewash in h202 then lemon juice/baking soda then rinse. Will it be enough? Who knows, but I have read good things and it doesn’t seem to have penetrated the buds just fans and sugars so fingers crossed.

After harvest I obviously need to address the fact spores are everywhere. Anyone have any experience using sulfur burners? Thinking of sealing up the room with poly, leaving the tent wide open and running a burner then a heavy wipe down of the tent before bringing the clones in.

Van Stank would be my go to for sulfur burns, and in the meantime go with citric acid spray rather than H2O2.

I use it in full flower and it has no negative effect on the pistils or the buds, and it washes right off after harvest.

My recipe is:
500ml distilled water
5g food grade citric acid
8-12 pipette drops of dish soap
Shake well to mix.
(Scale up or down as needed)

I spray everything tops and bottoms and stems. I even pull the buds away from the stems to get where the PM hides.

I'd recommend turning the fans off for an hour to let the stuff work before it evaporates.

I trim off the PM after washing at harvest and then never worry about it again.

Well I made it to the finish but man it was tough, WPM in a tent is no damn joke!

Here’s a few pics of the girls in the last couple weeks

White Widow - perfect amount of stretch on her with nice solid colas, other than the wpm she turned out great. She was a hungry girl as I’ve heard most White Widows are and likely was a little underfed.

Train Wreck
Inherited from a friend and the likely culprit of the WPM! Unfortunately she even disappointed, she was a big girl being an established clone ahead of the seeds and grew a ton of branches and colas but they were small and lacking density.

Little experimental Train Wreck clone in a 1 gallon pot actually turned out pretty good!

I didn’t get many good pics so no close ups of the CBD critical mass, Bruce Banger, or Wonder Woman as the last few weeks were such a battle so that’s all.

Bruce Banger got massacred by the WPM so I only got a couple colas :(.

Wonder Woman performed as expected - massive dense colas, this is the best strain I’ve grown yet again, I’ll be keeping a mother of her for sure.

CBD Critical Mass was a stout girl but had some solid colas. Overall pretty decent but nothing to write home about. Very unique smell to her.

Wash Day
Last weekend I setup shop and took about 12hrs to thoroughly wash and trim. I used a cup of h202 in the first pail, a squeeze of fresh lemon in the 2nd pail and the a plain water rinse in the third pail. I immediately washed each branch I cut, then trimmed as tight to the buds as I could ensuring any remaining wpm was removed. Lastly I gave the trimmed stalks another quick run through the pails and then hung to dry.

It was a lot more effort to wash them but after seeing the left behind in the pails if the smoke is good then I’ll be a believer from here on!

H202 pail - had to be changed a few times!

Due to the great white north being cold and dry right now and my grow room not sealed I couldn’t get humidity above 40% so they dried out a little too quick. After four days they were jarred up with Integra Packs (like bovedas, all I could get locally right now)

On to daily burping and then we’ll see how they all smoke!

I washed the tent down thoroughly, and cranked the heat up to 42 degrees (104F) for a couple hours to try to kill any spores. Tonight I’m gonna give it another bleach bomb wash, run the fans for a day then move in the organic clone army. Here’s hoping my wpm days are behind me.

This not so perpetual journal has come to a close as I’ve shifted gears to a new journal over here

@Amadeus Forzin @Teddy Edwards not sure who closes out journals now but this one can be sent over!

Thanks everyone who came along and as always for all the help along the way!
