Hey team here’s a Bloomin week 3 update for ya!

Two weeks of stretch down and overall growth has been good, I’m still looking for some more Though and they are still reaching for it, growing 1/2" to and inch a day still. The tops have condensed into budlets and the nodes have started their own baby buds. I am absolutely dying to get in there for a good defoliation, it is a crazy bush of top eat top world right now. Seriously this thing could line the side of my house and look just like a manicured thick ass hedge of marijuana! The Canopy is a crazy oasis of Green and not a single burnt tip in sight!
I don’t want them to have any excuse for stopping vertical growth so I’m going to hold off any haircuts until this weekend.

Dietary Restrictions in Effect
Looks like I have three wonder woman girls that are hungry AF....

Wonder Woman plants are in the back and they did not like the plain water feed at all and have been quietly chewing up some of their lower leaves. Some have started to turn yellow and fall off easily. They are looking for more MC. 5g is what I had teed up for them. After the first feeding they instantly improved.

Strawberry Cream and Blueberry girls were pretty happy with the plain watering clearing them out a bit. This edge damage on a few leaves on only a couple branches and I think I have discovered is possibly exacerbated by my tower heater pointing at them. There isn't a single sign of that damage anywhere but the line of sight of the heater! So I turned it toward the tent wall, and hopefully solved the case!

Megacrop Settling In
Anyone else see this happen a day or two after mixing? Luckily I don't use my auto timer yet and mix and flip the pump manually at feed.

Cloning Front
They're growing...they're growwing!!
Finally all settled into their cups and under my recently awarded Next light Core! They'll get fed 2g Megacrop tomorrow night. My friends are anxiously awaiting them, bugging me every week!

I haven’t had that issue with mine DC. I couldn’t tell you why, really.

I do use one of those paint mixer/drill paddles though, and it mixes extremely well with just my cordless. When I mix up an entire barrel for my hydro setup I use my big corded hammer drill. That one bout sucks more water put of the air when I get it going.

I’ve even put some in a soda bottle for a few days and nope, nothin.

Weird, I mix it up pretty good with a leg from my resin rack, this res is only 15gal and gets topped up and refilled around 10gal every feed so it’s not like it’s sitting long.. I haven’t seen it when mixing my 5 or 3 gallon jugs either...

I have a 5gal res, and a 20gal res (that I've only been filling to 15gal for the time being) going right now. They're both setup the same way, and are for a recirculating dutch bucket setup. The 5gal is on a single bucket, the 20gal is for a 4-bucket setup.

- 1 air stone
- 1 res circulation pump (130gph +/-)
- 1 main pump (400gph +/-)

The recirc comes on 15 minutes before the main pump, main pump runs for 15 minutes, then the recirc pump shuts off 15 minutes later. Air stone bubbles all the time.

For mixing up, I add a light dose of rhino skin (and then check the pH), then calmag, then MC, and terpinator after that (if I'm using it.) If I'm mixing for more than a 5gal res, I mix it all in a 5gal bucket and then mix it into the res from there. Once that's all done and water/feed is in the res, I add Z7 and mix that in too.

Haven't seen any issues at all. Even when I was mixing up for the 50gal rig and mixing 50gal feed strength in a 5gal bucket before dumping into the barrel and mixing again.

The only thing I can logically conclude is it's gotta be the drill mixer. That thing mixes that water up with a violent fury, and well, it's kinda fun too.


The only thing(s) that may change (in time) is the air stones. Been thinking about seeing if I can switch the stones out with aquarium powerheads that have a venturi. Would aid in circulation, and also add plenty of air. Not 100% sure if I can implement such a thing or not, but going to look real hard at doing so. I found an ideal powerhead, which I knew existed but hadn't looked at them in a long while. The motor is outside, and magnetically connects to and drive the internal piece. They're slick, but no way I'm putting $300 powerheads in every bucket/res. (Doesn't negate the cool factor, and if I had a bad ass reef tank I'd be all over it.) Found two others that have the motor sitting just above the water level, and if I go that route than one of those is probably what I'll start using.

I personally liked MC but I did find a separation of it when sitting stagnant for a day or 2. I always had my mixing pump kick on an hr before the feed to mix the reservoir really well before the feed pump kicked on.

Ive recently switched my nutes to a different line which is really impressing me so far! I flushed and reset all my mothers and they are looking even better than before. Can’t wait for the upcoming clone run to really push them with the new nutes!

I've looked at the line you're referencing before. Looks nice, and I did find they seemed to work well. Price was a bit steep for me though, in comparison for my rdwc rig. At that point, it wasn't much diff between that and GH or AN really.

I'm going to give the new v3 of MC a shot (it's supposed to be improved in the suspension area, along with the balls now being pulverized and other minor tweaks) and see how it goes. Not that v2.5 has given me any issues thus far.

If I end up switching, it'll be to Jack's. I'd have tried it now, and almost did, but to get the price down to MC range I'd need to commit to at least 4 runs with it, and would be a hair better over 12 runs. Not quite ready for that level of commitment. lol

I could buy enough for a single run, but it's only about $10 shy of 4 runs, so whatev.

Week 4 - Quarantine Cuts and Pistils

Hey everyone, hope your all doing well enough and your gardens are green as can be! It was a damn busy week for me!

I pulled out the shears and went to town on the MJ bush finally! Five hours split over two nights but the deed is done. Some of them got the most aggressive defoliation and stripping I’ve ever done so I can see how far I can take it. Man it was a bit of a squeeze in there however the additional bud sites I didn’t even know existed will be sun LED tanning now!

Next feed tomorrow night I’ll be moving to 5.5g of MC to ensure they are getting everything they need to fatten up!

Clone War Coming to a Close
All of the clones are doing absolutely fabulously! There is a beautiful sheen on the very verdant green of the leaves. They will be shipped out with small bottle samples of my previously used GH nutrients to my friends next weekend to move on to a new outdoor life! They’ve been at 2g of MC, next feed will be their last from me at 2.5g.

Yeah my only gripe so far is that I’m finding the solution settling in the bottom the next day regardless of how vigorously I mix. Otherwise the simplicity of a one scoop nutrient and the system of monitoring the green colour of the lowers for dosage is super convenient!
