Dark Devil Auto: A Community Grow Record

Outdoor DDA in Australia, still got about 3 week before i think of harvesting. My first auto grow, but grown loads of photo strains outdoor over the years.

Its been pretty hot here (38c consistently) and shes been loving it but we also had 2 days of unexpected rain and there was mould on one of the lower branches so she's definitely sensitive to mould.

HOLY FUCK!! Hope my oudoor ddas get some density like theese... goddam AusOutdoor if ur still on the thread tell me how u got those spears

Day 83 for mine, growing in Doc Bud's kit soil.

DDA6, smelling like she's just days away now. I've noticed the smell ramps up appreciably when harvest nears, and her perfume permeates the apartment. Thankfully, they don't have a smell typically associated with cannabis, but they certainly are powerful! :laughtwo:

I'm waiting for the flush of cloudy trichomes before I cut. Some of the lower buds look done already. Others are still in active bloom.

So deep purple as to be black.

DDA7 has me really excited. :slide: She's starting to pack the blossoms on at an accelerated rate.

I'm figuring possibly another week with #6 and possibly two more for #7, which is looking like a record-setter in my garden for timeline. Let her top that off with increased yield and I'll be a happy camper.

I'll be following these two up with a couple Devil's Carnival, a strain Nis and Canna (mostly Nis :cheesygrinsmiley:) developed breeding Carnival to Dark Devil Auto. TheRedDragon's turned out to be a photo and that got me really excited. It might turn out with Carnival's structure and DDA's coloration, though a bit muted. I'm interested in seeing what terpene profile this union created. I have to try them and see what I get.

It'll be my first time without a DDA in my own garden since I started running them. I might have to squeeze a hempy pot in. :laughtwo:

My DD1 is getting a pretty nice bud on top...day 42. No color yet but we have more than a month to go

She sure is pretty though Scorpio. I never tire of pictures at any stage of development. That color can show up almost overnight. Don't forget, if you have the rarer green pheno it's reputed to have a special punch. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Hahah i no i lucked out!! Yea i think i got every phenotype possible... im excited hope it stays pink.

I'm so excited for you WestCose. There's no reason to expect them to change. I can't wait to see her in full bloom with those pink hairs going everywhere. :laughtwo:

This thread was such a good idea. Being able to watch all these babies grow up and stunn us one after another is just....... delicious! :battingeyelashes:

Hey everyone, thought I'd stop by with another quick update on my DDA.. I am pretty sure it will soon be time to start another one, I'm not going to get much from this gal now I don't think. I broke one of the tops off her this morning, (day 29) I tried to tape it back up but its broken to far thru. I got home and that limb was super limp but the rest of the plant seemed to be doing fine, I'm sure it's on shock though. So all in all I'm sure my yield is greatly reduced now and I think I should start up another hempy bucket and give one a whirl in that. I had good success with my first real indoor grow with hempy buckets, I just don't have high enough humidity in the winter to use them I have realized.

So here she is, with her lonely top. Been 9 days since I seen the first pistils so I am debating on 1 more veg feed or to start the transition over to bloom nutes. Usually feeding this one every 4 days give or take.

high high high ... I'm back with my annual DD grow. It's my stash grow. I like to share if everyone is fun. I have about 20 plants going, they are all short and stout like a little tea pot.

Gonna be a big surprise ... at puffage time!

Yeah haw.. I have one bud left from last years grow.

I'm a little teapot short and stout.
Here is my handle.
Here is my spout.
When I get all steamed up,
Hear me shout!
Just tip me over
And pour me out

Puff puff and pass :passitleft: wont be long now .... 60ish days.

BB, they're beautiful. :high-five: You had a bud left? You're doing something wrong my friend. :laughtwo:

Mine are at day 70. I know you're proud of me for holding off. :cheesygrinsmiley: This is the next one to come down. I'll try to hold her off until Monday, since that's when I'll have access to the pressure cooker, but she's panting now, so I don't know if we'll make it that long.

Her companion may break the 100 day mark before it's ready to take.

She'll surprise you Dick, and all those bud sites will rise up and fill in. I heartily applaud the inclination to start another. My hempy one had the densest bud structure. They've all been potent, regardless of the chosen medium.

Here's to hoping :) My auto girls don't seem to get as big in these pots with the promix, definitely need to try a 5 gallon with it and see the difference. On the other hand, my last auto hempy grow was pretty nice looking... I know, I'm going to try a side x side grow comparison and see how they compare. I know every seed is different but maybe I will get lucky and have 2 of the same phenotype at least! Should I post it here Sue or is that something for a new thread? This should at least keep me busy while I wait for all my photoperiod plants to get thru flower and veg :)

Feel free to post it here Dick. I'd like to watch it.

I checked my notes Susan. The times that I have noted it the purple showed up on Days 39 and 43. :) First coming out on the sugar leaves, and then boom!, purple buds. :).

Thank you Luke. :hugs: I'll try to be attentive with the next grow. I always notice the purple deep in the buds first, then the stain spreads across the leaves.

Perfect, thanks Sue. What better place to post it really, if I made a journal of it I don't think it would get near the traffic we see here anyway.

I have started the process, 2 beans went into a cup of RO water this morning. I had 3 left and picked the 2 that looked mostly alike, the other was bigger and more odd shaped (maybe that's the gem)

Any tricks that you all do when starting to germinate your beans? I will be using peat pellets for these so I don't have to transplant the seedling but is actually my first time using them for cannabis seeds. Do most people still use the paper towel method and then into peat pellets once taproot shows? Would love to hear what some of you did with your daughter seeds.

Sweet, I'm just about there. Day 30 now so I will be looking for any signs of purple :) unfortunately I have never grown a purple plant yet. My purple Kush didn't end up having any but had some nice colors mixed with dark green leaves!
