They look Great...:goodjob::thumb:

I hope Mine start filling out soon... they are a bit scraggly now.. but only at day 38 today so Im sure they will fill out a lot more in the next 50 days:cheertwo:

I added another 4' bulb to the tent, may add another today, had some gaps in the sides so this should help

My biggest yield from a single plant in this closet was 4 ounces of DDA. I achieved this with side lighting. I need to get back to that now that I have more open space around them. I'd forgotten all about that. Time to break out the CFLs. :slide:

I need to do that also...ya have any pics of how ya did it hun????

This one kind of shows it Stavman.

I had two single bulbs hanging off to either side and one large reflector with four bulbs to the front. I rotated daily She blew up in the end and surprised us all. :laughtwo: DDA6 is too far gone for this, but I'm thinking DDA7 would love more lighting into the depths.

Oooo..... she's looking good and healthy. :thumb:

I pulled out the cords and hung 69 more watts of CFLs. Let's see what she can do with this. I may add one more cord to balance it out.

What Watt CFL's are those...

I have 1 more 4' 5000k T5 I may put low in the Back wall of Mine, but really like your Idea as well

This is how it is Today

Any ideas?

I could drop down like 4 CFL's in strategic Locations, Or make the 2 new single 4' T5's face up at Pot lip Height, or Both

What ya think?

Looking good Stavman. Sweet light panel. :high-five:

The CFLs are 23 watt, the most efficient of the CFLs. I like their flexibility. Bright enough to make a difference and not so hot that it'll fry the plants. I do crisp up a few leaves when I use them, but that only creates more potent oil.

What spectrum are your T5s? If I were going to put additional lighting I'd make it warm for flowering. The big panel will give the complete spectrum. The purpose of side lighting here is to promote bud growth.

The Bulbs in the T5 , Big one are 5000k, well one is 6500k cuz it came busted and Hydro shop only had those. the small T5 is 5000k also.

when you say WARM, what do ya mean....

My flowering CFLs are 2700K. That's a warm spectrum. In contrast, my veg CFLs are 5000K. T5s are usually for vegging, and they do that beautifully.

Good job Stavman. :high-five: Here's my ghetto configuration.

In the closet these wire shelves can simply sit atop the shelf edging and the iron bar that holds the COBs. When I use these in the tent I zip tie the shelves to the roofing framework. The Velcro strips secure the cords so they don't slip around. They also let me shift the placement in small increments. That piece of wood is to allow me to better place the one in front. It's all about being fluid with this arrangement. This was how I grew my first run, using only CFLs. They were mesmerized by the way I kept the bulbs right on top of the bud sites. That grow made me famous in these parts. :cheesygrinsmiley:

:laughtwo: There ya go. Lol! Great minds..... :cheesygrinsmiley: You can get the CFLs within 1.5 inches from the plant, and you want them always within 6". Further than that and the light isn't usable for the plants in the way we need it to be. The usable light is from the sides. No usable light comes from the end. Until I got the Timber COBs, (which are amazing, by the way) this was my favorite lighting method. For sheer light efficiency it's hard to beat a CFL sitting right on top of your plant.

I love these cfl's

I'm using T5s in veg for the first time, and I find I like them. Any light you can get right on the plant is good with me. :battingeyelashes:
