Dark Devil Auto: A Community Grow Record

Yeah, I have almost got her convinced that we need a Timber Grow Lights Chibi fixture for my small space (3ft²) cabinet that I am working on. I show her the nice stuff first, then the stuff on the 'zon and then talk about how they might work. She leads me back to what I wanted originally... Nutes will be a bit harder sale.

We do it to each other, part of the deal. She wins more often, also part of the deal.

Had a lovely double harvest yesterday. :yahoo:

Ahhhh.... life is sweet! :slide:

Congratulations!

Only hit 84°F in my grow space yesterday. Another week or so, and it'll be cool enough to hang a light in there - and then I hope to get to try that DDA by Chuck Conners Seeds.

Well, try to grow one, lol. Then it'll be a few months of playing the waiting game before I can actually TRY it. But I might have some by the dawn of the new year, and it'll be an assortment of autos, so maybe something will finish in time for at least a quick & dirty dry by Christmas.

Got SSDC lined up, too. Purple... Go Vikings.

Got a new phone, so I needed to take my first pics with the camera. If it weren't for the seeds I would have already taken a tester of DDA#1.

SSDC is only 3-4 weeks younger than DDA#1 but looks like she is in it for the long haul.

DDA#2 is cooking right along in her 40oz hempy

I intended to cob her, but she’s still too damp. I took a lot of good pictures though and this looked like a fine place to share them. :battingeyelashes:

The buds smell strongly of fuel and berry. Mmmmmm good.

Can’t wait to get settled in NOLA and drop the next seeds. :slide:

"Sounds" tasty.

I suspect that you're not the only one who is eagerly anticipating that event, lol. Your plants become... by the time harvest day rolls around, your plants have become everyone's old friends - and then, CHOP, they're gone.

I sure hope this cross is good, because I am going to have a lot of seeds.

I think I have it timed right so that my seeds are ripe just as we close in on the 100 day mark. About October 19th.

Thanks @beez0404 100 sounds good. I’m inclined to let the DDAs go a little amber as I can’t have it too speedy these days, unlike our Sue :battingeyelashes:

I’m planning to grow 2 together in a 10gal pot using Doc’s High Brix soil and drenches/foliars. Unless I decide it’s too soon in my kit experience to try that - in which case I’ll do it in some of my own soil. At this stage the Brix kit is the plan tho :) . It sounds like it should go ok with 2 plants and a bit on the light side with the drenches. Adjust as I go I guess

:Namaste:

Amy,

I've grown 10 or so DDAs now in the Kit--from experience, I'd run them in the flower tent from birth, and keep them on that light schedule, sprouted right into their final pot, right in the flower tent.

One they get 5 nodes, start feeding @ full strength, with a transplant drench first. They love it, especially the Transplant Drench. Recharge them early, and Cat Drench them late. The smell is unbelievably good. Key Lime pie meets Grape Soda, for me, and finishing on a Growth Ionic Drench doesn't hurt either :).

To get them to go amber in the kit you'll need to push 90-100 days--I'm with Sue, I like 'em racy, so I tend to harvest much earlier than that. PM me if you have any questions along the way!

Cheers

Stoney

PS--One of my stoney pals here in the bay asks me regularly whether or not I've got any DDA left. He swears it's one of the best highs around. I like it in the morning, just one puff, and I'm good to get stuff done for hours. I have to lie and tell him "no, sorry man, not yet." It's the definition of head stash for me. o_O:yahoo:

Thanks Stoney, that’s great.

My first ones are going to run outside so won’t have that light schedule but they will have the sunshine - and the full benefits of Docs kit. I’m planning to put 2 of them together in about a 12gallon pot of DBHBB soil (and yes, from seed in the pot :thumb:). I’m so excited to try it! The pot sizes were all differnt when I went to buy so my pots are going to be about 12 gal so, even better. I don’t need them to be too speedy for me, better if they’re tempered a bit these days, so letting them go long is in the plan now :ganjamon:

For my own knowledge would you share the light schedule you're using with the Dark Devils? If something works better then the 18/6 I run them on then I would love that info.

Getting used to the new camera, I think it works pretty well

I agree. :bravo:

I had the privilege of some DDA sugar leaves today. :slide:

Just a tease. I still have another week before I can dip into the bags. :battingeyelashes:

In two weeks I get to chop one small bud to check the seeds and test the smoke. Then i will wait at least 2 more weeks before harvest.

Thinking about a super long flush. Longer than my standard 5-7 days. Two full weeks should make for some smoov smoke and some beautiful fall colors in the tent.

Would it not make more sense to pluck 4 or 5 seeds from different buds at different locations on the plant to check their maturity? Or maybe the aroma of the purple buds are driving you crazy and you just have to have a sample?

It is killing me....
