Creating Female Seeds Using Colloidal Silver - With High Brix

Perfect! I have a few of the same lights if it's Mars lol. Cutting off the veg switch is exactly what I'm talking about. My normal temp range is around 45-80F with both on. 44-74F with only the bloom spectrum, but I don't run supplementary heat.

10-4

Temp lowered and bloom switch off.

Thanks, I didn't know about either:high-five:

I think he meant to turn the veg switch off and leave the bloom switch on. ;)

Yes, thank you! It's tough when running perpetual, but I try and run the flower spectrum only for the last few weeks of flower. Seeding or not. The colors and resin are unbeatable  and a higher percentage of seeds come out nice and dark. The only draw back is maybe slightly less tight buds :hmmm:

A couple weeks ago while trimming, I was listening to utube videos on cannabis breeding and this one I found was quite informational. The girl on the video has quite an extensive education and so a ton of valid topics were brought up.. and I have been meaning to remember to share it for everyone here, and finally remembered... lol (good harvest) :) haha

Anyhow, here is the video.. well really its more of just audio to listen to, as the video that is recording really doesn't move during the whole discussion. Very good info though. Also, just a little bit of warning for us PC's.. the girl talks about breeding in a statistical format which sort of makes what we do special in a way, but also sort of depressing when the analytic numbers of possibility come to play...LOL but most of us just do it for fun, to preserve genetics and all so overall a good video :) (or audio with moving background)

Well I figure there's no sense in chucking her. Still a chance she could rodelize if I just let her flower for super long, but I didn't really want to do rodelized seeds.

I'll take that bet, and hope you're right :P

On the next try I think maybe I will do just a single branch. Maybe that will help keep it concentrated too, who knows if the plants just had more flowering hormone built up than the CS could block. If I concentrate it to one branch maybe that will help.

:D

Read the first 4 pages of this thread. What you're looking for is right there. (post #24 page 2 to be exact)

congrats man I'm about to be getting some colloidal silver to pollinate my dark devil autos and my red poison autos i mite even do some of my photo girls down the line but first i wana do my autos i wud do all at the same time but i don't have enuf room for all tht lol but yea gud job man congrats

after further inspection, I may have over pollinated my original intentions. I am seeing a lot of seeds now (pics later) which really isn't a problem.

question I have is what do I do now with the pollen producing plant?

as of now I cut all the branches and put them in a jar of water and have it over a foil covered cookie sheet so I can catch some pollen for the next few days. How long will falen pollen be viable?

Should I cut off all the buds and put them in a bag and shake out as much pollen as possible?

and whats the best way to store, and how to use in the future?

Drying and freezing works best, you just don't want it to be able to get moist. I just used a vile with a glass tube stopper and put some desiccants in there with it. You could probably use vacuum sealed bags as well. Not sure how long it stays viable like that, but for a number of years from what I've read.

Jar of water is not a bad idea. The longer you keep it alive the better. I usually just clip it in a baggie with the zipper open about half way. The clip pinches the stem and keeps it from drying or dying too fast. However, that's after a couple of good thumps in a few other baggies. Don't put all your pollen in one bag so to speak lol. Condensation will likely be your problem if any. Be prepared to switch bags at the first sign and let the current one dry out. Keep cut points minimal. Only remove large fans. Some say water kills pollen some say it doesn't. The truth is extended periods in water will kill it. Short periods not so much. Typically I remove all the flowers I can and cut off the corner of the baggie where it builds up so that is basically in a smaller, easier to handle triangle. The contents of the triangle can be dumped into a tube or container, but I find it easier to tape the opening and then vacuum seal the whole triangle in a seal a meal bag. From there it gets stored with my seeds. How long it will last is just a matter of how good it was when it went in. Usually several months or longer but a good indicator that it is losing some of it's potency is when it turns orange or brownish.
