Crawdaddy's First Grow in 10+ Years Greenhouse/Soil - 2013

Re: Crawdaddy's First Grow in 10+ Years Greenhouse/Soil -2013

late but subbed nice outdoor grow
im still learning the soil side so I can keep moms
I have an easier time using hydro lol
:thumb:
looking good here Crawdaddy
Welcome Chronic, better late then never :) :high-five:
To me soil is just so much easier, but probably going to try hydro here in next indoor grow or two. The explosive growth you can get from hydro is crazy.

Looking good Craw........them girls will produce just fine!
Why thank you Danny.

great picts. Good Skunkday to ya Crawdaddy
Same to you Chop, too bad got to go work tomorrow :(

Don't fall down in there. We will never find you!

Looks great

+Reps
LOL My g/f has MS so gets a little wobbly was holding on to me in there yesterday saying she did not want to fall on one of my plants. Wish I had a bit more room, but should be fine. Next year going to find different pattern to put them in, so I can actually walk around plants and not push branches out of the way. Thanks for the reps :thanks:

Re: Crawdaddy's First Grow in 10+ Years Greenhouse/Soil -2013

Nice grow Crawdaddy. Glad to see I aint the only one with a greenhouse in their backyard :)

Re: Crawdaddy's First Grow in 10+ Years Greenhouse/Soil -2013

Thankfully I should not have to worry about that, no real close neighbors.

Wish I could say that lol...

Re: Crawdaddy's First Grow in 10+ Years Greenhouse/Soil -2013

Hey Crawdaddy, I noticed some tiny white spots on some of your leaves in your last round of pics. I had exactly the same thing happen when I had a few spider mites (which seem to be back again :(). Any sign of them?

There always seem to be a few around, but I think they are under control. From my little experience, they are almost impossible to get rid of 100% in an outdoor grow. I might buy some lady bugs as my buds form just as a precaution.

Where the spots on lower leaves? because I had them worse a month ago till moved g/f's huckleberry and blueberry (they seemed to love those) out of the greenhouse and treated everything with SM-90 and lower leaves are still around that got munched pretty good. Have not noticed anything obvious on newer growth.

Re: Crawdaddy's First Grow in 10+ Years Greenhouse/Soil -2013

I noticed them on post #170 on the Grape Ape on new fan leaves. Other than a couple tiny dots your plants look great, I just wanted to be sure to mention, just in case you had not noticed. In my grow I used insecticidal soap. I must not have washed it off completely because it caused some major leaf curl and some deformities on the plant that was hit hardest. I may opt for something else if they persist. The plant does seem to have recovered, but there are still weird leaves coming out. Hopefully these little buggers don't make a final stand against us right before harvest!

Yea I have been looking around to try and find setup I like. So far what ronnie6690 has going in in here My First Grow Journal OG #18 - Scrog - Recirculating Aero/DWC 600w LED Medical Grow I like the best. Lots of O2 in nice cool water.

And happy skunkday to you too :thumb:

just remember the more complicated the system the more can go wrong
and it usually also means more reliant on power
especially those aero setups
good way to succeed in the beginning is to kiss
you can go for more complicated after if you want but you want something easy to start with so you can get a feel for whats going on
just a thought

I appreciate the advice :high-five:, yea I was thinking about the power thing. I live in the semi-boonies are power does go out kinda of often.

Buy a Honda EU3000IS inverter generator..............they are not cheap, but they are very fuel efficient.
I live in the boonies...........and our power goes out in the winter quite often.
That generator has ran my entire house (fridge, sump pump, heater, well pump,TV,ect) for a entire day on a tank of gas (3 gal)
It has saved my ass during a few snow storms......(we live in the upper eastern great lakes region where the winters can get pretty rough from all the lake effect snow)
They are 5 times as much as a regular genny.......but are rock solid and reliable.

Re: Crawdaddy's First Grow in 10+ Years Greenhouse/Soil -2013

Wow you are right about the price, they really 5 times better?

Here is the best price I could find anywhere:Honda 3,000 Watt Inverter Generator (50 state model)EU3000IS
That price is much cheaper than I paid for ours. I think I paid $2600 for ours 3 or 4 years ago from a local Honda dealer.
We go "boondocking" alot in our camper and have used this thing for hundreds of hours............
It has never given me a single problem (other than a dead battery once) but even then, it will always start on the 1st pull everytime.
Just put "stabil" in the gas when its stored........and put a new sparkplug in it every year or so, and change the oil every 100 hrs or so.
These things are bulletproof!! We have dropped it, spilled beer all over it, you name it......
Ive had 4 or 5 regular non-inverter generators over the years(in the $400-$600 price range).........NONE of them ever lasted more than 50 hours before they started to fall to pieces.......
My buddy also uses a Yamaha inverter generator..........they are very good too, and a lil bit cheaper.

Re: Crawdaddy's First Grow in 10+ Years Greenhouse/Soil -2013

good thing about those new 4 stroke gens is they are quieter and use less fuel
Yamaha makes some comparable ones also

Re: Crawdaddy's First Grow in 10+ Years Greenhouse/Soil -2013

Forgot to post my height and width charts yesterday, here they are:
height13.jpg
width5.jpg

As the pictures and data show they are all pretty big bushes IMO.

Also gave the ladies a little TLC and food today....

RainStacks got me paranoid about the spider mites, rightly I need to be more vigilant. So I got a new pump sprayer with nozzle that can turn up and drenched them good with an SM-90 solution. May do once more before buds develop too much. Was much easier then last time with regular cheap spray bottle.

Also fed them with a gallon of water each, each gallon had:
3 Tsp FF Big Bloom
2 Tsp FF Tiger Bloom
2 Tsp FF Grow Big
1 Tsp FF Boomerang
1/2 Tsp FF microbe Brew
1/4 Tsp FF Big Bloomz
2 drop Super thrive

I am feeding them a lot, one more feed later this week, then flush with FF Sledgehammer this weekend. Following Fox Farm feeding schedule.

Re: Crawdaddy's First Grow in 10+ Years Greenhouse/Soil -2013

Sorry if I freaked ya out friend. I am glad you got a sprayer to make things easy. I love misting my plants. I was just worried about the little dots, so I had to say so. I know how small and devastating these buggers can be. So better safe than sorry right? Your feed sounds like a lot of stuff, is this the normal recommended by FF?

No worries like I said I needed to be more vigilant. And the pump sprayer made it easy. And yes better safe then sorry.

I am following the Fox FArm feeding schedule, can find it on their website,Feeding Schedule, right now I am in week 7, I am just assuming first flower day was Aug. 4th. This weekend is a scheduled flush. I figured they know what they doing so lets give it a try. So far it doing good.
