Re: Crawdaddy's First Grow in 10+ Years Greenhouse/Soil -2013

Forgot to post my height and width charts yesterday, here they are:
height13.jpg
width5.jpg

As the pictures and data show they are all pretty big bushes IMO.

Also gave the ladies a little TLC and food today....

RainStacks got me paranoid about the spider mites, rightly I need to be more vigilant. So I got a new pump sprayer with nozzle that can turn up and drenched them good with an SM-90 solution. May do once more before buds develop too much. Was much easier then last time with regular cheap spray bottle.

Also fed them with a gallon of water each, each gallon had:
3 Tsp FF Big Bloom
2 Tsp FF Tiger Bloom
2 Tsp FF Grow Big
1 Tsp FF Boomerang
1/2 Tsp FF microbe Brew
1/4 Tsp FF Big Bloomz
2 drop Super thrive

I am feeding them a lot, one more feed later this week, then flush with FF Sledgehammer this weekend. Following Fox Farm feeding schedule.

The data is computing in my calculations to be...............ONE BIG ASS HARVEST!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome job Craw........:thumb:
Hows the FF nutes working out for ya?
I see that your using FF happy frog in combination with them....
I used the FF ocean forest, and holy crap......thats HOT soil!
I was getting nute burn before I even started adding any of their supplements.....I dont think it was done cooking before I started using it.
I think Im gonna try 50% happy frog 50% ocean forest next round and see where that gets me.....
Keep up the good green work bro...........:high-five:

I added 1.5 tablespoons of garden lime/per gallon of FFOF soil this grow. Hoping to tame the HOTness.

I have not used FFOF but from what I read it is pretty hot stuff. The happy frog seems to be good at keeping my pH stable, so far at least.

The FF nutes have been getting good results so far. I think the flushes are important though, cause from what I read they can build up salts. We shall see I am going to follow their schedule unless something bad happens.

Re: Crawdaddy's First Grow in 10+ Years Greenhouse/Soil -2013

Yeah...........I have followed through with the sledgehammer as well..........seems to work quite well.
Word of caution though...............saturate the soil really good with sledgehammer, and let it sit for about an hour to start "loosening" the salts.
Then come back after that hour and flush out all the sledgehammer (and excessive salts) with plain water mixed with a bit of grow big to replenish the soil.
The 1st time I flushed with sledgehammer (without flushing out the sledgehammer afterwards), it caused me all kinds of leaf spotting and discoloring problems and twisting leafs.
Just a heads up:thumb:

Thank you sounds like solid advice. My problem is 15 gallon pots so need A LOT of water to wash out. But looks like you getting real good results, those colas on your plant are huge.

My mother is going to be in town later this week too and no way I can hide these plants. The grow is legal but I am still expecting some sort of grief from her and/or step-father. My line is going to be it is very therapeutic for my mental health to grow, and that is the truth.

Re: Crawdaddy's First Grow in 10+ Years Greenhouse/Soil -2013

Just sprayed the ladies down with a FF Flowers Kiss solution and gave them their daily gallon of H2O.

Also sprayed out the concrete floor, starting to collect leaves, looks cleaner now.

My girlfriend found another mantis today. This one is big and brown. I have not seen Gabriel the Mantis for a while, he could be hiding in the jungle I have, but I think he either took off or got eaten.

Re: Crawdaddy's First Grow in 10+ Years Greenhouse/Soil -2013

That could actually be the same mantis. They sometimes change color when they molt. Thank you for the link to the feeding schedule. Right now I am just using Grow Big, but I have Tiger Bloom on hand too. I think I got the names right. I am amazed that despite all the mistakes I am making my plants still grow. Thanks for stopping in on my grow too and offering some advice. I clearly need all the tips I can get. I am really surprised I was over watering as the top of the pots seem so dry. Well the goal was to learn and that is happening!

@DirtyDanny - I read somewhere not to mix the ff frog and ocean. I can't remember where, maybe on one of Doc Bud's threads. I am going to try Pro Mix HP with Doc's kit for my next outdoor grow.

It is VERY therapeutic in my opinion as well!!!! I have been outta work all summer because of knee surgery that I have been putting off for years now. (havent had a 2 month vacation from the daily grind since high school) I would have totally lost my mind being so "idle" physically and just chillin around the house without something to occupy my mind.
It has also strenghtened my bond with my 9 yr old daughter...........she has been helping with the grow and she has started to show a huge interest in horticulture.
She is a very bright and intelligent young lady.....(gets it from her mother obviously) and I thought it was best to try to disguise the grow as a tomato plant. (because who knows what they are drilling into our childrens heads at school these days)
Well......that only lasted a few weeks before she started questioning my horticultural identification of the plant...
"Dad........that "tomato" plant sure looks alot like Marijuana!!":whoa:
So I had to sit her down and tell her about the entire history of the plant and how William Randolph Hearst single-handedly managed to get MJ illegalized for his own monetary gain. The whole "“reefer madness” propaganda was explained and I had to "deprogram" her of all the lies she has been taught over the years at school.
She now knows and understands that its simply a miracle "plant" and not a "drug".........despite its legal classification:cheesygrinsmiley:

Do not think it same mantis, g/f found this one in front yard caught it and put in greenhouse.

You really should get the FF Big Bloom at a minimum, it is the least 'hot' of their nutes too from what I read.

I have only been using the actual feeding schedule last 2-3 weeks, before that I was just 'winging' it with Grow Big and Tiger Bloom(along with SuperThrive, I love that stuff). But as I said before they are the experts so I figured give it a go, just worried may be feeding too much, but if flush properly should be ok. So far seen no signs of burning/soil pH problems.

If you are in FFOF soil though be careful, could fry your ladies pretty easy. Plus your plants are not as big as mine, no offense of course, so would not need as much nutes.

That looks like a pretty good mix. I like that you used only 2 drops SuperTrive. You don't need much of that stuff. :)
