Couldn't Resist A Christmas Auto Grow

I had that problem too- my plants are usually pretty short, so I use this to water in under the foliage..

Ha! yeah, she's looking a bit rough- been with me since day 1....I guess I could clean her up a little..
I won't, but I guess I could..🤪

If you think a flush is needed, that water is poured on top and immediately drained out the bottom into the sewer system or your garden. That's where I flush mine because drought.
I don't want them to have any contact with outdoors cos prying eyes and bugs 😊I was letting the water drain into the swick bucket and emptying that into the plants that I think needed a boost of nitrogen... a bit of a schlep but it is done now
The one with the signs of N tox on the larger fans would the only one.
Even the little bud leaves are curling down tips. Will the leaves plump up and uncurl? Relieved that I don't need to go through that again with the RR.
Yikes! This is supersoil? Then just water.
I think it is. I refer to it as craft soil and LOS, but I do think it is a supersoil. It's Jamies, the guy with the big trees. When reading his Insta he talks about water only and he has some very good looking in and outdoor grows.

I got confused. Sorry. I thought they looked pretty good as was.
No worries Otter, I also got confused, but a lot  . The Red Russian looks fantastic to me. She is my auto pride and joy, my first auto that is approaching success and making me feel confident to continue to pursue auto flowering for chunks of the year, and then do photoperiods in the ShedTent during winter for the foreseeable future. My biggest concern is the loadshedding when it comes to the photoperiods and I don't know how to get around that atm. I need to speak to others who are growing indoors here in SA to find out how they manage with it. But I have veered off topic.

*Also great for filling a SIP without spilling anything...👍

One of the things I really love about this site is the inventive things people come up with... we have CarHooking, CarHooks, CarTent, CarCanSpout... I am serious about this glossary! We should ask Admin if they will make a thread for adding community inventions and a short description of purpose and process. We can make a glossary list from that which keeps getting updated.... @Joe Brewster who is the person one would speak to about this? It has been on my mind for a few days, because I keep seeing innovative named hacks, attributed to individuals. I think it would be fun and informative :D

I see more messages that have come in... Need to get back on laptop. Typing with one finger on the phone is slooow.

Does the soil direct you to feed it with npk type nutes.
No :( but I really know so little about "nutes" I thought this was just a booster kind of organic tonic. It says on the bottle that it won't overdose plants. Everything else is 100 % organic, like the LABs, the Biocult myco, the 401 microbes, the bloom stuff is made from seaweed and molasses... Jamie has unfortunately shut his awesome little amendments shop. Other retailors are now carrying his Orgasoilux and Essential Blend, and it appears he is full-time into growing now. His shop was awesome. He carried all the ingredients to make your own supersoil, plus he offered the already made one, which is the one I use (the Orgasoilux). I suppose the market has changed. Every Tom, Dick and Harriet are now carrying nutes of all descriptions and he is really a farmer I think. His brand is well known now and fairly widely distributed.

They won't uncurl but it won't spread. I've had plants with sugar leaves that did that having nothing to do with nutes, so just keep an eye on the fan leaves.
What should I be looking for in terms of improvement?
Don't forget to add spog®. :cheesygrinsmiley:
I love your poem! Your are good at poetry Shed. I've spotted a few gems here and there and what a lovely spog! I need to write down how to make the R sign again because you told me before, I used it once and promptly forgot lol

What should I be looking for in terms of improvement?
Improvement is just that no other leaves start clawing, and the plant isn't too deep a green.

On a PC it's ALT 0174 for ®. On a phone it should be somewhere on a back keyboard. Dunno about what Steve Jobs allows on his computers. :cheesygrinsmiley:

ALT 0153 is ™ if that's what's needed!

It might be a bit late then because it is a dark green. I just got some pics to show you. I also got one or two idr of the leaf issue in the RR that made me give the very first dose of CalMag because you were interested earlier on. Seriously, I am impressed with those tiny little flowers on the Skywalker. They are covered in trichomes and they loook like they are only getting started now. I honestly do not know what to expect with these plants. Autos are cray-cray
I'll start with the problem child. Her leaves really look bad and they are all like that. The flowers are a different story.

Thank you. I'm going to come across as quite thick now.... I don't remember what the difference is between TM, which I think is trade mark, and ® which I think is registered? I used to know this. I'm just too exhausted to google that now, time to chill now. How should I know which to use use when? For instance, when would I have occasion to use this ™ ?
Cor blimey, what are the Skywalker's flowers going to do? Are those turning into miniature buds, or are they going to push out more pistils?

And I just have to add... Dit is nou die einde van die probleem en ons kan gaan weg van hierdie plek gaan and go find some music or something... I've been thinking of Noah all day.

This is the way..... Thank you. What strength Vit C tabs would you recommend?

Here's a little more background on the Vitamin C thing...
Pretty good reference material to read if you have the time.

“It takes about 1,000 mg of vitamin C (ascorbic acid form) to remove chloramines from 40 gallons of water”

  • Chloramine Removal:
Carbon filters remove this chemical but the filter is used up much faster than for other chemicals and takes much longer to do the job. A special form of carbon, “Catalytic carbon”, as it works better than standard carbon (sometimes called Centaur). In other words it will require a larger and more expensive filter to remove it.

  • Carbon filters remove the chlorine portion of the molecule leaving the ammonia behind hence it requires another stage of filtration such as reverse osmosis to remove it.

Vitamin C filters – For showers this works better than other types at removing chloramines.

  • It takes about 1,000 mg of vitamin C (ascorbic acid form) to remove chloramines from 40 gallons of water.

Reverse osmosis units do remove chloramines as they generally have a couple carbon filters but they often produce large amounts of salt (sodium) in the water which can also cause problems if used to water plants.

Double counter top units work better than single stage filters for drinking water(Cool water must be used for these filters to work effectively).

Note: When chloramines is coupled with chlorine and fluoride the combined negative effects on plant and soil health is much greater.

Sent the question up the staff chain.

I would go with plain water for the problem child and see it the green starts to fade a bit.
I don't remember what the difference is between TM, which I think is trade mark, and ® which I think is registered? I used to know this. I'm just too exhausted to google that now, time to chill now. How should I know which to use use when? For instance, when would I have occasion to use this ™ ?
It doesn't mean anything really because it's just a thing that we put after the name of something we might have come up with. It's not like Carcass has actually applied for the trademark for his CarHooks™ or I have received registration for my Oval of Brightness®.

For the record though (in the US):

What does the TM (™) symbol mean?

A TM (™) sign denotes an unregistered trademark, which is a symbol often used to advertise or brand products when they have applied for trademark registration. Companies may use the trademark superscript, ™, after text, pictures, or other content they claim as their own but have not been formally registered with a regulatory authority. Occasionally, businesses will use ™ to indicate their first usage or that they have applied for registration. From a business perspective, it suggests that an individual selling a particular product or service believes that its identity is unique.

What does the R (®) symbol mean?

The R (®) symbol on a product indicates that it is a registered trademark. This means that the logo enjoys legal protection as per the Trademarks Act, 1999. Trademark registrations carry a validity of ten years with a possibility for an extension by following the renewal process. If a person or business utilizes the registered name, logo, or symbol without the owner’s prior consent, they may be prosecuted for trademark infringement.

It's the fun, the memory... it's a sentimental nod to fellow enthusiasts who have had some pretty clever ideas.

Thank you, this is just what I was wondering. My thinking is that it's keeping memories alive, for a chuckle. It's not my decision to make though. Please say something about your thoughts now that it has sort of taken a life form. I'm having a bad feeling that I meddled where I shouldn't have.
