Cottage 420's Organic Perpetual Indoor Garden

Just to clarify thats 1.5lbs per m2? Thats better than average mate. What is that 24oz per m2.

Yeah i get the root environment. Too be fair im a huge believer in beneficials. I used to run sterile res for a long time but ive been running live res in my hydro grows for past 4 years or so and there is no way id go back to sterile. The difference in quality alone is more than worth it. But the plants are so steong and vigorous. Not many people can say they get roots like this runnning sterile....

Ok in the dwc set ups and aeroclones you can get some sick roots sterile but no way are you getting roots like this coco example without a little help from some microscopic buddies. It fascinates me the relationships creatures have with one another. But it frightens me also as it shoes how delicate our world is. Knock a part of the ecosystem out and it can be disastrous. You only have to look at the roll bees play in the world to see that. Anyway roots roots roots, soil or hydro i think we can agree on that :)

Last round I ran 3 plants in a 4x4 space (flower room is 5x10).. yield was 1.75#s dried cured trimmed. I had more space and could have ran another plant. I pretty much did that automated as we were out of the county for 50 of the 90 day cycle on holiday. Turned half the lights off. Repeated again fall run. Now in our winter run which is when I'm here 100% ... got some monsters. 90 days was max time - running Landrace Sativa there... 1 cultivar goes 80-90 days the other does 60-65 days and yields less but is white knuckles until a cure happens. Even then, it's b-careful or faceplant.

You're running them in a 5gal bucket right? My soil with a plant in a 7.5gal bucket is filled with roots top to btm and it's alive for sure in there. Same thing cept I don't have to mix anything because we don't "feed the plant" in organic soil.

In a living soil in containers we are creating a living environment for the roots and the micro-herd.

The nutrients are all there, some will be broken down (composted) while the plant is growing.

The micro-herd do the same thing you do when you're mixing up your nutrients and putting them in the res. The difference is we don't "do" any work... the plant and the soil microbial population work together in a symbiotic relationship. Plants tell the micro-herd what the plant wants via root exudates and the micro-herd take that cue and trade exudate for nutrients.

The chemistry is done by the plants and the microbes.

That's some nice roots you have there... what I see is that you take a lot of time making sure you are providing what the plant needs and "you" give that to them. I respect the work that it takes to get there for sure.

I'm into growing in as much a sustainable way as I can... everything gets used and then re-cycled. Nothing gets thrown in the garbage .... absolutely zero waste. The only thing we cant re-cycle is the electricity.

One day in the near future, LED technology will become so efficient that all we will need is a solar panel (and battery if off grid), then we can truly be bio-dynamic.

That's my long term goal. Lets see if BigBiz and BigGov get together and make it happen. All "they" need is a market. LEGALIZE IT. Problem solved & market created. Then I can sell my flowers at the local farmers market just like my tomatoes and onions.

One day people.. one day indeed.

You cant stop us now!

Doing fine in the new years... cold A/F here going to be -28C with wind chills -40C. Arctic conditions. Wishing everyone to keep warm and safe. We live in Philly... this cold is nothing I've ever experienced here. We just got done SnowZilla now arctic winds. I can feel it when the heater turns off.. that's crazy.

Warn wishes for the new year - all around.

Nice bob!:thumb::high-five:...and about those temps...welcome to my world...

...Tonight A few clouds. Wind up to 15 km/h. Low minus 32. Wind chill minus 42....been basically like that since Xmas eve...2 more sleeps till 50 degree turn around, cheap cerveza and crappy herb...I'll take it!!...:laughtwo:...cheerz and put another log on the fire...h00k...:Hookah:

Girls look fabulous as always buddy :thumb: and yeah been cold as fuck here since just after Xmas too...def been one of the colder years in the past 10-15 years for us...step out for a smoke and the slightest bit of moisture in the stache freezes instantly haha...still worth it for that fine tasting bud :volcano-smiley:

Great last post Bob. Beautiful pics. The colors on the Lybernith are wonderful and thats with avg temps. I guess no need below 58 to purple on her??
I have a question, If you had an 8 plant grow would you still use the resivior if it was on a wood sub floor? I use buckets to water because of the wood subfloor. A resivor would help me to keep the tent room sterile but Im apprehensive. Id hate to damage the house.

Thats and excellent question on the Reservoir. Grow room here on the 3rd floor of an old house so yes wooden floors and yes I've had an overflow forgot to turn off the water went to bed next day wife is "hey whats the water doing dripping from the ceiling." Wasn't too terribly bad, all I had to do was replace 1/2 the ceiling in the 2nd floor bathroom. Actually got me off my ass it was overdue for an "upgrade" anyways.

What I will be doing going forward is getting a flood and drain tray. They hold more than the reservoir does so if there's an "issue" it will be contained. Yeah and that "leak" happened 2 weeks before in-laws were scheduled to visit from out of country. Timing... aw well, got off my ass and it was tco'd complete bathroom overhaul done. Wasn't all that bad tbh...Pain in the ass for sure tho.

My low temps in the grow room this round are 63-82.... its COLD A/F out side so our heater has been on so not too low of temps at night. I have our heater set to keep the house warm at night. I'm afraid if I let it turn down at night like normal, it might be difficult to warm it back up again in the AM... got 2 pups here, 1 is 4 month the other is 7 month. The little one still has puppy fur and no winter coat yet. They've been troopers on walks.... just gotta keep moving to stay warm.

On the purps colors, I'm starting to think the lighting has a play in it... didn't see much purple on the Labyrinth before and this round only on the side with the 1750K lamps. The closer the buds to the 1750K lamps the more color on the leaves. The other side of the plant is all green.

This round I only have 7 plants in flower.... They are all grown to the lamps or higher @ 7' tall. Tied many of them back but the Buffalato I can't reach her without a lot of trouble.

Yeah so next tear down - spring time, I'm adding a flood and drain pan - they make them 4'x8' which holds about 100 gallons of water.

So I've only had an overflow which wasn't all that bad was about 10-20 gallons of water, I've had a few issues with the automated watering system valve getting clogged with a worm and hung it open so had a flood in the flower room pan I have now. Just had to clean the inside of the flower room floor, it needed it anyway. So not without risk.. I could go with a hard container and install a float valve for the water fill..then totally automated. Likely what I will do along with a flood n drain pan.

Purple Monkey Balls #1 - 10 days in flower... she poked her head up and then decided to be the tallest plant I've grown indoors. I bent her over after this pic - this is 7.5' to the ceiling and she's still growing. I used a male of this strain to pollinate DT #6 the big version of DT. My "thought" was to tame the size of the DT a little bit and shorten the flower cycle... will have more work to do I suppose!

tearing up and replacing the bath floor and replacing the ceiling sounds like more than a chore my brother. Hanging rock, taping and mudding. All this before the inlaws come. But it HAD to be done. Wow, I would dread that. Did you do this all by yourself?
My pan came with drain holes I plugged with the seal stuff from the tv commerical.
You got them Chow Chows walking good already!! Dutchess still dont walk like a lady at times. Depends where we go wether its the harness or just the collar.
Thanks Bob!!

Most people use a lighter to showcase the size of their colas, this is definitely the first time I've ever seen anybody use a pair of felcos LMAO.... Congratulations brother those plants look insane!
