Cottage 420's Organic Perpetual Indoor Garden

Current Platinum Buffalo has slight leaf irregularities including minor variegation & end twist. Improved with age into flower. But healthy slightly lighter green leaves otherwise. Yours looks like something more going on....leaf margin & tip turn down suggests needs more Ca, severe twist suggests pH off. If 2 look fine, then this one could be a weak mutant sister. Hope you can straighten her out....not a cheap throwaway seed.

That bud looks really good & potent. DT in your wheelhouse...damn nice cola. :Namaste:

Cool! I'm subbed up.

I didn't go to the browser the first time I was in the app so I can had trouble finding it and was reading some of your old posts from back in 2011/2012 it's very cool to see how you've progressed in your craft. Nice work!!

Also sorry to butt in, Learned last Friday difference between an actual living soil vs. Using organic bottles as relates to flushing/Fading.

Very interesting how the rizosphere and other ques will actually make the plant flush its own leaves. Microbes stop their chain and supplying nutrients etc.

I'll say it again... More space or outdoor privileges ;) they look so georgous in living soil.

I'll get caught up a bit in the morning.

Have a great night!

Thanks Pheno and thanks for checking out this corner of the world and stopping by... it's winter time so its full on grow grow here. Less outdoor gardening so we move indoors - FTW.

I'm all about sustainability. If I wanna throw something out, I take a think on it. Anything from the garden gets re-cycled in a compost pile or bin.

"Get your compost dialed in, and there's not much else to worry about." CC

I run a "CC" mix.. Clackamas Coots soil mix. BAS website and KIS website have a lot of good info on it.

Yeah buddy, senescence is a thing.. happens every fall outdoors. Trees are the soil masters.

We have the good fortune to be living very close to a 2nd growth and some of it is old growth forest. I harvest EWC from under/around the old dead decaying trees. Prolly my main contributor to healthy indoor plants and of course our vermicompost.

On the "flush" thing.. my thought is why it "works" is that most folks are under watering even with added nutrients. So the method of flushing actually we are giving the plant more water (that we think it needs) right at the critical time, but it's actually the best thing we can do the last 2 weeks. Give the plant a lot of water. That's what they need, more water. I've never over watered a plant in FLOWER.

Yeah buddy - welcome to the crazy corner... I'm in the back, rolling around and soil.

Hey 4D - thanks for the tip.. I'm trying to figure out my next up-grade! You rock bro :high-five: :Namaste:

Thanks BL.. I'll keep her somewhat isolated. She's in VEG and only about 10" so no big deal, YET. I'm worried about TMV... that's not something I wanna deal with.

All my girls get the same treatment and same exact soil ... I did have a small Borg (spider mite) breakout thing with these girls in VEG and she was a youngin when I treated them all with spinosad. The other 2 worked thru it fine... this one ... not so much.

I have some micronized Ca I could do a foiler ... I'll try that, everyone gets some.

Thanks and cheers.

Hey bb i was just wondering what is micronized ca?

Hey bb i was just wondering what is micronized ca?

What BL said.. I have the XX Kelzyme stuff.. haven't opened it yet. I went back to Amazon where I got it and it's sold out! Wow... that was fast. I think BL said something along the lines of back in the day, when some new grow gear came out, everyone jumped on it..

Looks like we are still there!! hahaha... I have some other Calcium Carbonate that I bought for a lot less $$ that the Kelzone stuff.. Gonna have to get out my scope and do a side by side to see if there's a difference in the size of the grains.

Speaking of scopes... I went into the flower room again, loppers in hand wife assisting me.... had to take out a 6' Dolato plant to get to the 7' DT #5 plant in the back row... DT #5 - she's 67 days in 12/12. These plants take at LEAST a week to show flowers...maybe a little longer. So I went in and looked at the date and said... shit, I'll take a clipping and scope it. Put everything back. No chop. :lot-o-toke:

Prolly be back in there again tomorrow .. .here's the pics from the scope. Should I go ahead and chop .. cloudy and clear with a few amber! This is the shorter "White Knuckles" Pheno. Her fan leaves are giving up and have mostly all fallen off. I usually chop and don't worry about it but trying to get a slightly tamer buzz this round!

DT #5 - Trichome pics - lower down bud:

Bottom of bud I snipped off - the little brown spot with the white hair collar is the stalk that looks pretty cool:

flower ... lots of cloudy... lots of clear 1/2 amber pistols and 1/2 white pistols - Sativa are hard to go by calyx shape, they are not that large like on the hybrids or Indicas.

WIN_20171216_183011_2_.JPG

Thinking .. chop it. The trichomes are starting to loose that mushroom shape and there are plenty of cloudy??

Dam bb those are some nice triche shots u got there. Was that done with a USB camera??

Yes, a USB microscope ... cost me like $15 on E-pay. Works tho... i mainly use it for ID on insects. A 10-20X loop isn't quite strong enough for my old eyes. With this I can say... yup spider fcks again...

Did a little work in the garden - DT #5 is on the hook and hanging dry.

Here's a pic I took after lights out the other day. This is DT #7 - she's got 2 huge massive side branch colas. I'll get some better pics with lights on. DT #6 & #7 large fans just started to turn gold yesterday. Bout time, the colas are getting pretty fat and long. Going to be hard to chop them down.

Dolato - root ball ... its almost like it started to grow out of the container. When I was moving these girls around there were a lot of baby night crawlers/worms in the water tray! Maybe its the "found" worm castings putting my girls in over drive.

DSC_0034791.JPG

Dolato - far back shot, the next day (yesterday) she was above the lamps. Had to tie her down a little. Her main stem is super thick so couldn't do anything major, just tied her away from the lamp.

DT #6 - still stretching... they do that until the fans start going gold... there's a bit of gold just starting to show. I'll get pics of those fan leaves... they are almost 2x the size of my hand. There's a lot of stored energy in them and why I don't cut them off. I'll show the progression of fans dying to buds getting larger as the fans fall off.

Male PMB - he's going to pollinate a gaggle of Ghost Train Haze AUTOs and already painted a bud of DT #6.

Dolato #2 - still in VEG next to a Ghost Train Haze AUTO

Reason for pollinating GTH-A is to see if I can improve on that. Do a little read and you'd think that's the best strain out there.... haven't tried it yet, looks pretty sticky but smallish. lets bump it up a little bit.

Dam bb those r lookn great! I can't wait till my bigger girls start to flower up more. My plants that I let get taller then I normally do are sjust starting to flower now so I'll see how big the colas get. I hope they get nice like urs here. This time im not doing the malted grain teas as far into flower as last time the last plant i harvested was on the smaller side do to doing malted grains to long she started finishing b4 the buds actually had time to plump up. But yea congrats on those girls. Man the frost on those labs is insane.

Lots of activity going on there bob. Great pics as always. Close ups showing heavy frost are really nice. Have to agree w/ Pennywise on the GTH. Grew photo version....pretty good but not up to the billing as being one of the strongest strains around at the time. But good enough to try it again when I can squeeze it into a run. Happy Holidays. :Namaste:

I like those trichome shots too! I have a 120x scope but it's kinda hard to get a good view because the field of view is so narrow. That Labryinth looks like it would make an excellent hash plant.

Oh yeah thats what I thought too! Was making freezer hash today out of the trimmings from the last one! My first attempt hash was a little green. I have another screen a little finer. Next round I'll do a 2nd screen and get rid of the green. I tried to ball it up but it wasn't refined enough. Was still a little cakey.

I'll vape some tonight of the greener hash and report back. Prolly be high for 2 daze ... the buzz lasts a while from the flowers. Definitely feel it the next day. I don't get couch lock but once I go to bed.... gone.. hazy dreamin... The next day I'm refreshed and ready to go and a little haze but not a foggy haze, just a "yeah I still feel good" kind of start to the day!

Reading the description, it's like why aren't I running it perpetual..? Has a nice smell to the flowers and they are pretty resiny so they look pretty good just real small plants - for AUTO even. I'll see if I can't fix that! I think I can.

I sprinkled all the AUTOs with the male PMB... gave them all a good rubbing. Sat the male in the room for a few days while the male flowers opened up.. didn't have any fans blowing on the male. Painted a few buds on DT #6 as well.

I don't see any difference in the flowers. I have no idea what I'm doing. The male is in the VEG room with negative air movement out of the house so.. maybe a few neighbors can thank me later! This time of year prolly nothing to worry about.

Almost forgot to post pics!

Dolato #1 - first flowers ... took almost a month to get flowers... I'm starting to wanna wonder why the last several rounds these plants are all stretching huge and taking longer to flower. No complaining but seeing a pattern now that I've got different genetics and getting same results. Time to take a look at my timer and see what I have it set to. Wondering if I have it set to 13/11(dark) and not 11/13(d) .... I made that change a while back to go to Hawaiian time. Maybe I stumbled into something?? Yeah 27 days before showing flowers is something to look at I'm thinking. Dolato's main stem is above the lamps with the side branches not far behind.

DT #6 - tall pheno... these colas are only 40ish days, they have a waze to go. Big fans just started turning.

DSC_0009_2_3.JPG

DT #6 - fatty girl (DT #7 even fatter - too far back to get good pics of)

DSC_0003_2_3.JPG

DT #6 - cola shot. DT #7 in the back there, this is only 1 side of the plant.. I don't have them supported, I'm tying them away from the lamps.. that's the freaky part. How big those colas are and no support indoors! They have bulk too.

DSC_0002_2_7.JPG

DT #5 - Gold Pheno, I just got finished trim.... yay (I'm finished) = 140g dried/trimmed. 5 zips.. .think that was the same as my last yield from the smaller gold, white knuckles pheno.

Bag appeal - lots of 1/2 white and 1/2 amber pistols with a slight purple hue and mainly bright chartreuse green with frost.

Smell - Lemon with lemon and some sort of other fruit mixed in... very pleasant smell - very little or no funky and my dogs were eating the dropped on the floor trimmings (they usually don't do that) They went "dog gone wild", ate a huge dinner and now sleeping. All good, didn't have to sweep this time!

Smoke report.. well early but the taste is GREAT, smooth with a lemon fruit taste along with an electric body feel (not a buzz) ... just like I'm wired in to the universe... I get a good up up feeling, makes me feel creative and it lasts a few hours. For pain.. what pain. I swim train and slightly over did it yesterday, so expected to have sore muscles. Didn't feel that until the am this morning.

i came in a little late bob your girls are looking good man i like what you do there healthy and good luck with your breeding project i don't no why it wouldn't work make them better than before ,happy growing bud!:thumb:

Never late brother... fashionably on time! Welcome aboard... we are on a ride in the universe! Every day is a good day.

Many thanks for stopping by... I added pics after you posted ^^^^ up there!
