Sadly all the friends I that would come over to trim are all pulling their 12 at the same time and the locals are not people I want on the property (very very conservative and tending towards incredibly racist) so my man got me a crank trimmer last year and I use that for most of my bud. I still hand trim the best colas.

Now that I've discovered hash I'm not so concerned about how much the machine trim takes away :D

I'll still prolly feel guilty using it in the fall but yeah.
 
Ok, everyone is trucking along and now I'm just waiting for a warm-fuzzy as to when I'll permanently move them outside. I'm thinking end of April first week of May. Not sure about the more sativa strains..I know GG4 and Gelat.OG can handle some frost but the rest I've never grown. We'll see what the weather's doing in a few weeks.

They're 6ish/7ish weeks from getting dropped in water. Is this rate of growth ok? I see other growers with the same number of nodes but much more stretch. What should I be aiming for?

Sounds like you are talking about that small business called Lovely Ladies Who Trim--Trusted Traveling Trimmers. As far as I know, they have been around for several years, since early spring of 2018. I might have mentioned them to you about a year ago when I suggested looking at the ads in the Michigan Medical Marijuana and other Michigan weed magazines that are available at many grow and hydro shops. I couldn't resist bringing up their business when I saw your comments about trimming.

Plug the name Lovely Ladies Who Trim into your web search page and you should find their web page and also a link to an on-line interview they did about 3 years ago this month. So far it looks like they travel to large grows in the southeast corner of the state so not sure they will travel to your place. But, I figure you have the problem under control.;)

Gotta love turning that trash to stash! I feel you! Have you made you some hash rosin yet? You can do it with some bubble hash a coffee filter and a hair straightener. It’s delicious and you will get way better yields than smashing flowers...
 
It's been gorgeous weather here so I'm doing as much outside as possible. Washed my hashbags, checked on the dirty orphans, and took measurements to build am RO watering station on wheels using a neat old cast iron sink:

Yeah, I've been reading up on it but meh. I think I'm going to move away from all that shit and attempt a cryo-ethanol live extraction. No lipids and hopefully most of the cannabinoids and terpenes will stay in the concentrate. A lot is getting fucked up in the decarb with heat-aided pressing.

Lol, you wanna press at low temperatures and get that BUTTAH! I would say stay away from alcohol. I think it strips all the terps( most the terps). I would rather make some bho. That’s me though and I like to dab the stuff. If you were going to make tincture or edibles than alcohol would be really perfect for you actually.!

BHO is deffo not something I plan on doing. I already said I'm looking to minimize the possibility of leaving/increasing lipids AND I want to preserve as much of the terpenes and cannabinoids as I can. Nevermind issues with leaving hydrocarbons in something I'm going to inhale.

From my research ethanol pulls the most terps and cannabinoids in their neutral forms. Tincture means anything pulled from matter using alcohol. I'm not talking about tinctures in the way I think you are. This will end up being a dab'able concentrate made using a blend of cryo hash (liquid nitrogen) and ethanol.

Idk.... I think the alcohol zaps the terps pretty good. If you keep it cold it helps so I think your onto something with the liquid nitrogen. Have you seen that stuff poured on a table with Kief? It’s awesome, it just washes it right off! I have taken some nasty bho that wasn’t purged and used 99% isopropyl alcohol to winterize it and it turned out way better than it was to begin with.

GUYS! Guys! OMG guys....

I just found a thing. Sewerponics. It's a kratky type grow that uses a float in secondary reservoir to maintain the right level of solution on the root tips!

That’s awesome! Are you going to do some tinkering and build you one? My cousin is a plumber and I been thinking about having him help me set up a little 6 or 8 site rdwc.... I’m really digging the simplicity of coco! It’s sooooo easy! Lol I had to edit this.... it’s so easy after figuring out a good nutrition schedule and messing with it for a while...
