Copperrein's Summer 2021 Outdoor Soil Grow

I think many are using social media as their reference tool. They read a meme and that becomes evidence based truth.

We have the 5G’ers here too, and the irony that they rely on the fuel of 5G to charge their instasham, farcebook, tiktok, etc to keep them connected in their fear of being “tracked” is lost on them.

Elective was the first patient load to be cancelled here initially. We are backed up to fuck due to the only surgeries being performed during the first 6 months were emergency.

We hear your health system is truly fucked here, but when a coworker spoke to an RN friend of hers who nurses in NY she said they were being well looked after. Bussed in, free lunches, safe patient loads, meanwhile our news was reporting anarchy. So which is it?

Is she on methotrexate? That edit, is she still alive? Omg don’t get me started on the misuse of oxy!
Oxy is why I'm growing. So I can put an end to it

It depends on the system. We're not nationalized so it's weird. I used to work with the Cleveland Clinic and the Henry Ford Health System. They're massive systems hundreds of smaller hospitals and clinics. Cleveland Clinic is global with a hospital in Dubai for the royal family (who are massive donors).

Those are really good systems because they're getting patients in from all over based on leading the pack in certain fields. They can't be shit because they're playing on popularity.

Then you have smaller systems with two or three main hospitals and maybe a clinic or two. They're whatever. Sometimes great, sometimes shit.

Then you have state, county, and city/town individual more 'community centered'. These are typically funded through taxes and are mostly in poor areas. You can find great nurses and doctors in these places...sometimes the best ever...but like our education system they tend to be poorly staffed and funded and care can show symptoms of that.

No, my mom passed in 2014. I'm not sure if she even continued treatment for her osteoporosis. She suffered from endocarditis and interstitial cystitis and I think all the bone meds they gave her back then affected her more serious conditions negatively. She had a real shit life and didn't even bother getting on the donor list. Shit happens.

In a way I'm glad she wasn't here to see the last 6 years. She was 100% socialist and liberal as fuck. She marched for civil rights around here and in Chicago before I was born. If she died back in 2014, the last 6 years would have done her in. I'm glad she went out thinking the human race was on an upswing.

Here's an update for you, Trala: I had the man make me a fence a la bogan to better isolate my plants

We have just the one system nationwide it’s called Medicare. All emergency surgery is “free”, and anything elective you go on a waiting list unless you have private health. Once your earning goes up you get a tax break for private health. Our hospitals liaise with each other. For example if you were in Townsville and needed specialised cardiac surgery you would be flown to the cardiac hospital at no cost to you.

Our biggest challenge is beds, not having enough. Our nursing homes don’t manage the elderly in their final years. Rather than letting the 96 year old demented resident who is bed bound doubly incontinent and fed go to the disease process they treat with IV antibiotics. The resident still dies, but slower and less humanely in my opinion, and from a business point of view they take up a hospital bed at great expense.

Bogan fence ftw!

Tell me a bit about you Copper. You got kids and stuff? And how much land do you have? And what do you do to earn your coin?

Will do so in a PM in a bit....getting dinner prepped :tommy:

Good morning :)

I will wait by my cyber mailbox.
Oh shit and here's me...just fucking off after dinner forgetting to hit send. I'M TERRIBLE. I'm sorry.

Here's why I forgot:

While looking for a spice I found a random bag of weed alongside my fennel and bay. I have no clue what this is. I think Blueberry. It's deffo not Blueberry Cookies and certainly is now gelat.og.

I dunno guys...the stuff I just leave in paper bags and forget about is pretty amazing. The flavors aren't as good as cured but the effects are much more freight train KO. This is in no way morning weed. Wowee!

But yeah...outdoor plants are fine.

Everyone looks overwatered because it's cold this morning and the sun just came up. I'll try to remember to get some snaps in a couple hours before I head off to day one as a slinger of sparkly explodo-nuggets during an American holiday weekend. I should just join a circus and get it over with. It's obvious where the trajectory of my life is taking me.

Also these buttholes demanded their morning vittles and I kept tripping over Cheeks the mentally challenged rooster:

He stayed in the egg a little too long and I had to help him hatch so yeah...he's special.

Oh hey...

The GG4 that was almost dead is now fully dead so yeah...

I've got butterflies!

12 plants in homemade soil. Soil will be made as soon as the snow leaves my various compost and poop piles.

Starting with 25/25/50 last year's soil, peat, and my own normal compost (all vegetable matter with a little horse poo smattered about the mix)

From there I'll be adding chicken shit, bat shit, and horse shit. I have plenty of all three provided free by nature. Why not use it? Also gypsum and rabbit feed pellets at this point.

Then azo, myco, and humics.

Oh, and perlite until it looks right.

Last year I did SubCool's (RIP) super soil and got some really nice plants:

It worked well but the whole recipe requires a bunch of things, many of which are difficult to get here. I'm also not paying $30 for 5lb baggie of rare dodo bird doodie. If I see deficiencies I'll address such issues in time with supplemental nutrients.

They'll be in 20 or 25 gallon grow bags out under the fleeting Michigan sun. Rain water when available and well water when needed. I guess I should clarify our well...it's tapped into a limestone aquifer as opposed to a normal groundwater well. This bumps up my alkalinity a bit, but HEY....I've got two happy plants living in it right now in hydro so I'm not super concerned.

I've only been seriously smoking cannabis since 2018 so I know very little about 'what I like'. Because of this I am going for variety this year. I've grown only two of the strains before: GG4 and Gelat.OG. Gelat.OG is currently my main medicine but I'm looking for more energetic and creative strains for my rec weed.

So my plants:

Gelat.OG X2
GG4
Alien Rock Candy
Rudeboi OG
Wedding Cake
(sooo excited for this one...looks to be a gorgeous strain!)
Critical Purple Kush
Sour Diesel
(another new one I'm so giddy for)
LSD
HulkBerry
(this, too)
Triple Cheese
And the grandest lady of all: White Widow

I'll be popping the beans as soon as I figure out where the man hid all my party cups :<

SO EXCITE imma vom
holy shnikes look at those cacti

Hey look! My first intentional auto!

Dark Devil Auto:

I'd move her into a 7 gallon Geopot this morning buuuut the weather is absolute shit right now and my soil it outside and yeah...I'll do it this evening when I get home.
We got snow here today. Not a great day for working outside.
Your garden looks amazing. I'm jealous. My soil is still in 100L tubs.
I'm enjoying watching your garden and all the wonderful outdoor pics.
Keep up the great work @copperrein :green_heart:

Also these buttholes demanded their morning vittles and I kept tripping over Cheeks the mentally challenged rooster:
After watching our daughter's chickens walk and eat I understand why she says that each and every one of that bird specie is 'mentally challenged'.;)

OMG we're actually selling stuff. The local news station came by and interviewed me. IT'S WEIRD. I feel like a dumb marionette being controlled by a focused and driven adult.

Got a little time to myself this evening so I got some shots:

I like how different they are. If I'm lucky autumn will be cooler than normal and any flower colors in these will really pop. Triple Cheese and CPK are already starting to smell. I love these plants.

p.s.

Two dogs came by the tent. We are best friends now.
