Conradino23 Keeps On Keeping On Outdoor & Indoor Using LOS/High Brix Methods

Ultra Dog has it in a shitty genotype that's in the line anyway. The plant hermed by the end of flowering and was on the OG side, which would point to OG. It's something of a mix of terpenes and gassy aroma becomes onion. Yeah pretty strong smell. There is Garlic OG btw :smokin: :)

Hmm that somehow reminds me what my friends said when they tried Jarilla de Sinaloa... pollo fritto which is fried chicken... more like oven-baked I think :) Yeah the smell of burnt seasoning and the skin, stuff that his you from the oven basically :) Italians love savoury smells. Hmm I'm thinking about developing coffee strain in the future. That'd rip the market I suppose :passitleft:

GMO Cookies are supposed to have a garlic/onion taste and smell.

Man...that just doesn't sound appealing. My buddy grew out a Larry OG that was the most offensive smelling weed I've ever smelled. He grew it out super nice but man that smell was just gross. It was like B.O. and rotten feet combined. The buzz was nice but I just couldn't live with that smell.

I hear similar smells are present in GG4. I grew out Show and Tell from Annunaki, which is a GG4 cross, and it smells horrible! It seriously smells like shit while growing. Once it is dried it isnt as bad but it smelt horrible throughout flower. According to Alphakronik these sorts of smells come from thiols instead of terpenes. Here is a short write up they have for one of their strains:

The Darkside Series by Alphakronik Genes is an expression of what is possible when breeding for extreme Thiol production and heavy Terpenes. Thiols are the contrasting flavonoid found within the Cannabis species that makes up the stinky smells throughout nature. Garlic, Fuel, Skunk, Gas, Onion, and Feces smells all come from Thiols rather than Terpenes. Thiols are a carbon chain with a sulfur atom connected at the end of the chain rather than an oxygen atom as found in Terpenes. They are used in the Cannabis plant to attract bugs to catch in their sticky traps (trichomes). They then use drop the dead prey to the ground and use the symbiotic relationship with the soil to feed itself. Alphakronik Genes is proud to be the first breeding team in the world to focus on such focused research, and are now proud to introduce a series dedicated to the “stink” factor found within Cannabis, and are working to develop new research models to advance scientific discoveries throughout the Cannabis genome.

I’ll check out Alphakronik this evening.
the two sites I know of that carry them do not have this strain in stock. This comes from their Darth Revan strain description and it from their darkside collection. There is one other strain in the collection so far. that one is Darth Sion and I do not see that one either. The darth Revan is Obama Kush x Dawgfather. Alphakronik also has some serious CBD strains bred using a 20:1 CBD:THC Harlitsu cut. Those are in the Force collection. The most well known of which is the Stephan Hawking Kush.

Interesting, thanks for that. I have a keeper cut of gg4 and it doesn't smell offensive at all. It smells like dank pine and gas. I really like that smell.

Geeze Louise!...you guy's never fail to amaze me with your strain research/knowledge!...:hmmmm:...:thumb:...speaking of smells...my malawi gold auto's smelled like cat piss after initial dry and cure,,,a few months in jars, rendered a very nice dank aroma(I'm not good at describing aroma's, unless it springs up and hits me in the nose)...upon opening a vacuum sealed bag when we returned from Mexico...back to cat pee!??...its just starting to come around to the dank smell again after five weeks back in a jar...I dunno'?...its all good tho'...cheerz...h00k...:rollit:

You are welcome bud. I have heard garlic used most of the time to describe the GG4. I like the smell of garlic so it would not bother me. The whole feces smell I get from the Show and Tell is not attractive to me. Some may like it but I think it is nasty lol. I am glad it tones down when it dries. I enjoy both pine and gas. Those smells are some of my favorites in cannabis.

I like gassey. The chems I have run are almost too chemmy though for my tastes if that makes sense. I love Sour diesel. The aroma from ECSD is something I could smell every day. That super loud funk is just super attractive. I have grown some Chem D seeds I got as freebies and I liked them but a little sharper than the diesels and more chemical smelling than gas to me. I grew out THSeeds Akorn for a while and I would almost bet money it is a chem cross. It has the classic chem smell which translates into taste. I actually had people complain it tasted terrible and thought it was due to nutrients not being flushed out. I run the kit and dont need to flush and none of the other strains taste of chemicals. It is def due to the terps. They said it tasted almost like cleaning products

We all dream of growing the stinkiest weed... And then one day we do... And we can't even smoke it it stinks so bad.

Looking good Con. The autos are getting some frost. You're doing an outdoor spot again, right? I was wondering what you had lined up for that.
