Colombian Gold Grow: Come Learn With Me How To Produce Your Own Seeds!

@MagicJim she is from @SeedsMan , one of their house strains called GelatOG...…..Sunset Sherbet X GSC Thin Mint X OG Kush

I have a new plant I am starting to really adore (if you can adore a plant) called Royal Gorilla. Gifted to me by a new friend I met last week and again this week. I have started her gentle bend training and will keep at it through vegging. I'm wanting to harvest two cuttings once she's well adjusted to her new pot and getting stronger and larger. Here she is today right after her bending exercise class.

Highya Beez,

Here she is today right after her bending exercise class.
"Whole lot of bendin' goin' on", lol That is a lot of bending. Go for the gusto, or go home. Used to be my motto.

This is the first in a short series of seed harvests from this winter's breeding project. First up is the Dark Devil auto. I wasn't going for a ton of seeds with her but did want a few with which to play around. I pollinated a decent sized bud with pollen from the Colombian Gold plant and here are the results. Approximately 40 seeds. I have not checked them all too closely so some may be culled out.

Next up, off the same plant is a single bud I pollinated with autoflower pollen from the Quarter Pounder auto plant. These seeds will all be feminized and autoflower. This is a photo of the bud I broke up to hunt for the seeds. I believe I counted 22 seeds.

Not a bad start. I'm more then pleased having made 22 QP X DDA seeds.

Highya Beez,

Reaping the fruits of your labor!! Very nice. I'd say you have the process nailed down, and I should think it'll work for anyone who follows /reads through you journal. Very nice course of instructions. I know I'm making it work next summer. It seems to have worked every time you did the silver nitrate. 100% isn't bad!! Cheers

@Bode I have a high percentage rate of success with the colloidal silver but definitely not 100%. And actually I've not reversed more then a dozen plants so if just looking at the numbers my success rate is probably 83%......10 out of 12 times it worked. Some strains just won't reverse and some plants, especially very stable ones are hard to impossible to get to reverse.

Harvested this morning off the Tangerine Dream auto plant. If you've followed the thread you'll remember I pollinated the TD plant with Quarter Pounder auto pollen. So all of these seeds are a cross of the QP X TD and all autos as well as all feminized seeds. I harvested 65 and gave 5 to Sweet Sue to take back home with her. This breeding project is looking better with each seed I harvest.

I specifically hunt those seeds on a plant for my personal use. That little light brown calyx right where the branch meets the main stems. Yes Sir! I look for those when harvesting seeds.
Hi Beez, I found one of these " crotch seeds" of a 420 blueberry auto. I was hoping it would grow out normally. You're saying it should be a good one huh? I was surprised to see it. Any thoughts as to why a seed is produced there among females only?

@stoneotter As with most species the urge to survive is strong. It's not uncommon for a flowering plant to shoot out a few nanners that produce a few seeds on a plant. They are often very few (the nanners) and overlooked. I imagine if the seed is fully mature it should grow a fine plant. Something to consider. If the plant with the seed was in a tent with other strains it may have been one of the other strains that had the nanners thus making your seed a cross strain.

Those seeds look great beez! I think this project and thread are a resounding success.

Thanks a lot. I learned a lot as I progressed that I didn't know. I hope others might have picked up some useful information and put it to use too.

I finished harvesting the seeds (the majority of them) from the Barney's Farm (from @SeedsMan ) Tangerine Dream auto plant pollinated by the Quarter Pounder auto plant. Final tally came to 271 seeds.
