Colombian Gold Grow: Come Learn With Me How To Produce Your Own Seeds!

I guessed 285

Well I still have the main cola to harvest and trim up. I didn't directly seed it but I'd count on it having some residual seeds.

I so love a happy band of cannabis warriors. :circle-of-love:

A treat for the room....

Seed Searching Witt beez0404

It’s been a couple weeks of watching beez work his own magic with his garden, a good part of which is devoted to the creation of more seeds. :slide: It’s the seeds that get him excited. Regardless of the thrill he gets growing beautiful and healthy charges, let them swell with seeds and his heart beats a little faster.

Over the past couple days he’s been tearing the auto plants apart, branch by branch, gingerly digging out the tiny genetic bundles from the Quarter Pounder Auto pollen chucking. I thought you might enjoy watching over his shoulder. :battingeyelashes:

At the base of each bud is a swelling of seeds that beez considers to be premier, based solely on appearance. He calls them “crotch seeds” and he gathers them with great care and keeps them in with his special seeds.

You’re welcome. My pleasure. :hugs:

I never called them "crotch seeds", lol. But for some reason the seeds from this part of the flower are extremely healthy and grow with great vigor. When I pollinate early and light enough, I get nothing but a few "crotch seeds".

Great thread @beez0404 Soon I will be mirroring your autoflower reversal with a single Incredible Bulk auto seed I found myself in possession of. So Incredible Bulk S1s, and cross it with DDA & SSDC. All depending of course on her willingness to reverse. Happy Sunday.

Peace

Seed Harvest Update

I trimmed the rest of the Tangerine Dream plant this morning. It was un-pollinated and without ripping the buds all apart I came across 2 more seeds. That brings the total of Quarter Pounder auto X Tangerine Dream auto seeds to 273 . The Tangerine Dream auto plant was a pleasure to grow. It produced what I will call (for lack of the proper term) "typical" seeds. Fully matured they are dark with a little banding on them. For a sativa dominant strain the buds were decently dense. Here is a photo of one of the buds from this morning.

As a breeding strain I have to rate the Barney's Farm (from @SeedsMan ) Tangerine Dream a strong A+

I anxiously look forward to seeing one of the QPA X TD auto cross plants grow out.

The Quarter Pounder plant came down today too. Last week I cut off the entirety of the four branches that were treated with the colloidal silver. I dissected the buds looking for seeds. I let the plant continue growing hoping the "greenish" colored seeds would darken. But they have been the same color now for nearly 3 weeks. They should have been mature two week ago easy. I know I've gotten seeds that were that greenish color so maybe they'll grow out just fine. The final tally of Quarter Pounder S1 auto flower feminized seeds came to 70 seeds. As a breeding strain (reversed female) she did produce viable pollen when reversed. She did take longer then normal (from my limited experience) to start to produce the pollen sacks. She did not produce much pollen at any one period of time and drug out the production process for almost 4 weeks. I cannot rate her fully and accurately until such time as her offspring have been weighed, measured, and tasted.

If I am rating her solely on her job producing seeds I would give her an A grade. I have to deduct a tad because of the lengthy process to get her to produce pollen sacks. If these all sprout and grow I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Final Results! Colombian Gold X Dark Devil auto seed project.
The Colombian Gold pollen I used to pollinate two very small buds on my Dark Devil auto plant produced a grand total of about 39 seeds. From past experience the Dark Devil auto is a very good seed producer.

WooHoo! Just what his little lady wants to hear. :yahoo: :slide: :yahoo:

The Quarter Pounder auto pollen was also used on two small branches of the Dark Devil auto plant. This produced a total of 22 seeds. I thought this was amazing as the two buds were tiny and down at the bottom of the plant. If you are wanting to make a ton of auto flower seeds use a Dark Devil as the seed mama plant. For that I rate her and A+

The next auto flower to be harvested will be the Stardawg. Just being honest I am not a lover of the sativa plants that look like a bunch of calyxes stuck onto branches. No density whatsoever. And I am totally biased as I grow and smoke mainly indica plants. The breeder of the Stardawg is Fast Buds from (@SeedsMan ) who say the plant should be ready to harvest in 8-9 weeks from germination. Mine is 80 days old from sprouting today. I harvested a few seeds off of her a week ago and they had that mature look, but not that mature color. They are that sort of green color. I'll be checking her seeds again today to see if they've gotten any darker over the last week. She was pollinated approximately 7 weeks ago. So they should be pretty much mature.
