Colombian Gold Grow: Come Learn With Me How To Produce Your Own Seeds!

And that brings me to the youngest of the auto flower seed makers. She is also bred by Fast Buds from (@SeedsMan ) and shows great potential. This is the Gorilla Glue autoflower plant. She sprouted on 11/21/18 making her 67 days old today. The breeder indicates a 10 week grow from germination through harvest. She might be ready but I don't believe the seeds will be. Her buds have really swollen up the last 10 days or so and have engulfed the seeds. I have yet to harvest a "test" seed from her and hope I can wait another week before peeking.

And while all this has been going on the Colombian Gold sensimillia plant keeps chugging along. I am figuring about 3 more weeks for her. I'll check the trichromes this week and figure when to start her 10 days rinse. She's slowed down her water/food uptake to about 1/2 of what she had been drinking. And her autumn colors are starting to appear. Her fragrance has started to change from raunchy rotten citrus to a foul smelling earthen rotting soil with a hint of rotten lemons. Just delightful!!!

What a great job you've done on seed production. I'm ready to start making seeds again. I have such a wonderful stock of ladies that I'm sure would be very receptive as soon as a mate can be found. I got very lucky last year when I got a treasure trove of California genetics to play with but most were single fem seeds so I grow them out searching for the winner and find that I like every one of them so far based on early tasters.

I very much like the idea of reversing one and crossing it rather than just pollinate the mom or sibling. I did that a couple of years ago and those S1 seed plants are subject to hermaphrodites. Similar to other issues like not being able to be reversed or lack of viable pollen from the reversal target, I don't want to produce the hermie prone seeds that I fully believe came from the incestuous process.

But there are options. I just dropped 2 regular beans from the Aliendog Spring Mix bred by OBSoul33t. I like my chances of getting a male. So what happens if I don't get a male? Reverse something but cross it with a different lady.

I think she smells deliciously like Columbian Gold. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart: You walk up the stairs to this room through a wall of her perfume.

I’m lovin’ all this seed-making interest. Good times are ahead. :slide:

This afternoon I trimmed up some of the StarDawg plant. I started with the top portion of all the branches trying to retrieve the majority of the seeds. On this plant I pollinated four good sized buds. So far I've harvested 101 Dawg Pound (Quarter Pounder auto X Stardawg auto) seeds. I imagine there are still more although probably not a bunch more.

So not including the seeds left on the Stardawg plant and the seeds on the Gorilla Glue plant I have harvested a grand total of 466 feminized auto flower seeds.

I made them yes. Now they have to dry for 3 weeks and I'll germinate some. If they sprout then yes it will be a good feeling.

I finished up trimming the Stardawg. Not being a Sativa guy I was/am not very impressed with the buds. They are covered with crystals but on a density scale from 1-100 (100 being as hard as Shed's head) these things are probably about a 7. Light, airy, fluffy...…….all adjectives I don't want associated with my buds. I will have a smoke report either later today or tomorrow from my official taste tester.

The final seed count of Canuk Quarter Pounder X FastBuds Stardawg seeds came to 147. I will cull some but I don't think too awful many. These will officially now be known as Dawg Pound seeds. There is a small percent of seeds in this group that are beautifully colored and HUGE! Only one more auto left to be harvested for seeds and that is the Gorilla Glue also from FastBuds at @SeedsMan . I'll start checking her seeds in about 2 weeks when the plant will be close to being finished.

He made me laugh too Shed. Lol!

As the sativa-loving taster of that Stardawg Auto I say he’s biased against sativa structure in bud development. Those of us who thrive on fine sativas recognize a frosty wonder when we see those airy buds covered in specialized oils refusing to tighten up.

All the better to bust up into a quick bowl and soar on combustion.

I say the breeders - FastBud - did an excellent job. I had a bowl about 30 min ago and I’ve been smiling ever since. Now... I’m me, so I have ample reason to be smiling, but this delightfully fragrant chemovar smacking of the promise of an uplifting limonene euphoria doesn’t let your expectations down.

:thumb: Well done, to the breeders, the folks at @SeedsMan, and the talented cultivator for making it possible to take this ride.

Standing on the deck, soaking up the sun while I guzzle another delicious cup of coffee, feeling light, loved, satisfied. Yep, my deep gratitude for this moment. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

The only thing left to do here is add up the seeds I find on the Gorilla Glue auto plant. And I don't expect that to happen for a couple weeks or maybe even longer. It will all depend on how the seeds look in a couple weeks when I check them. If they're ready the plant will be harvested. If the seeds aren't matured fully the plant will keep chugging along.

In the meantime I thought I would share a couple pictures of a new trainee I have here. She is a Royal Gorilla clone and a beauty. She came to me as a gift from a new friend who was visiting last week. She takes very well to training, is responding tremendously to her new nutrients and grow area. I up-potted her last week into a 1 gallon pot. She was unhappy with this for a couple days but has since perked back up beautifully. Sorry for the color.

That middle is completely open and I don't see any shoots growing in there. Will you be training anything to fill it or are you expecting plant growth to do that from the outside in?

Honestly @InTheShed I'm just winging it. Training a plant for me is pretty much topping it once or twice. But often I do nothing and let nature take it's course. With this one pictured I actually bent the branches down and secured them in place. I guess I figured that the whole plant would go vertical together at this point. But whatever it does I'm alright with it. I am also contemplating going from this 1 gallon pot to a 3 gallon pot and then up to a 15 gallon pot.

I think because I am such a magnificent photographer that opening in the middle looks bigger then it is in actuality. At the widest point it is 5"...…...the opening I'm talking about.

You're not my wife are you?
