Colombian Gold Grow: Come Learn With Me How To Produce Your Own Seeds!

Honestly, I would rather have a haul like yours with good numbers of three different strains then a whole bunch of one strain.

did someone say seeds? unfortunately not stored properly

how about a gallon and a quart size full of Oaxacan

Columbian Gold 78 I have tried and tried, only 6 left.

Columbian regular still have them

Over the past 7-10 days I've been taking the Quarter Pounder auto plant out and checking it for pollen sacks that were opened and filled with pollen. Well sadly that is not what I've been finding. There are plenty of pollen sacks yes. And I am finding very small amounts of pollen here and there. But the majority of the sacks seem to be void of pollen. Also the pollen I am able to retrieve has not been tiny (like a dust particle) dry specks, but (how to describe it) like multiple grains of pollen stuck together. All the pollen I have collected I am applying to plant pistils but in the bottom of my heart I question if it's viable and actually pollinating the plants. BUT, me being who I am I'll keep trying to collect whatever pollen I find and keep applying it to autoflower pistils till there are no more pollen sacks or white pistils.

I won't bore everyone with this process. I'm not depressed or upset with how this has developed. When you screw with nature sometimes we win, sometimes nature wins. In this case I have to call it a draw. Nature allowed me to make the pollen sacks. However, she did not fill them with fluffy, dust like pollen.

But I won't know for sure my success till I harvest the Quarter Pounder plant. I know there are some pollen sacks growing up inside some of the buds. Maybe some seeds will be produced in there. And maybe some of the pollen I've been dusting the other auto flower plants with has done it's job, although to a much lesser degree then I hoped. Only time will tell.

Well fingers crossed some of it was viable and your able to get some new seeds out of the group! If not there will be a next time!

Nothing to report on the autoflower seed making front. Each morning I am collecting miniscule amounts of lumpy pollen and applying it to autoflower pistils. It's just a wait and see game now.

On another front. I am quite happy with the UN-seeded version of the Colombian Gold clone. She has spread out to about 28" across and is really stacking on the buds. If the buds are dense then she will for sure be packing a good amount of weight. Here are a couple pictures of her at 20 days since seeing the first pistils. The seeded plant has absolutely nothing on it that I would smoke, but won't be wasted as I'm sure @SweetSue will make some sort of edible from it.

And here is the very first Dark Devil I've grown that was not pollinated at least to some degree. I did nothing to her as far as topping or training. I've been told that the DDA prefer to be grown this way. I also moved her from 18/6 lighting under a 450 watt Viparspectra LED to 11/13 lighting under the two QB lights in my flowering tent. @newty swears that her DDA is growing amazingly well under this lighting schedule. We'll see what happens.
