Colesdad Tries Again - LED - GGG Baby Freedom - Ideal420 Soil - 12/12 From Seed

My diy filter info will follow soon...
Quick update.
AB1 is fully flowering. Growing quickly, and a mighty thick stem.

AB2 I "think" is flowering. She is completely different than her sister, she is much thicker and the leaves are fat. But maybe she is a little behind and will stretch out like AB1.

And Nebula, wow! Massive growth, deep green leaves, she is absolutely beautiful. The last picture shows the branches coming off where the topping happened. I was so nervous about topping her, but I am very pleased with the result.

So, based on AB2, I'm thinking another 35ish days. If Nebula can recover this much within 10 days of topping, I wonder how she would like to be topped again?

nice they look good. I think ab2 has to stretch still. look at ab1 and notice the leaves going from 5 blades to 3 blades to 1 blade. that's how you know she's almost done stretching.

Damn, that's cool, I no idea!

Absolutely top her again. Tie her back too. The LED can prolly be about 14" above the top of your ABs. If it's higher than that, just work it down over a couple days

I think I will top her again. I think I left the led at 28ish inches above them in the beginning, I think.. I'll check to see, now that they are gaining height.

The diy filter didn't work, too much resistance, no air flow. No biggie though, but I will have to address the smell soon. My air purifier is working "ok", knocks the smell down about 70%, but they are really going to start smelling very soon.
I topped Nebula again, I couldn't resist it. Gave her two snips. I could have cut at the next node, but im thinking ahead about height.
The two cuts

Question, even for those that follow but don't comment.
I used Herbies as my reference. Anyone else with autoberry expirence please chime in..
I am at my halfway point (60-65 says herbies). They are within an inch in height, so they are sitting at about 14 inches (Herbies says 27in total).
I do not have any "booster" type nutes, just plain General Hydroponics nutes. They are still beautiful and green, so they are feeding fine in the roots soil. I've been watching leaves for any discoloration because of hunger, nothing yet. They are said to be a hybrid, but with more indica. AB2 certainly is showing her Sativa heritage. This would be awesome if I had a choice of heavier Sativa and a heavier indica, I'm trying for some oil to control seizures and hopefully slow/stop/kill tumor growth in my brain.
A few questions -
As far as feeding, should I be watching the new leaf growth more closely?
I was watering once a week, but they (especially Nebula) were droopy and asking for some, I gave and the next morning they were happy. They are in 3 gallon fabric pots. Should I be soaking the entire pot yet, or only do a few cups on the top of the soil?
When should I consider clipping the leaves on AB1 to allow more light? When is too late?
Anyone ever done autos in Roots Organic or similar type soil (nutes not needed for a while)? Any pointers?

Group photo. ABs in the front, Nebula left rear.

Soak them to a bit of runoff. Then wait until they are dry. I wouldn't pull any leafs, but, that's your call. I'll check my last normal. I'm pretty sure I've grown those before.
If you find it, hit me with a link

this is what I do with my autos in roots organic soil I plant and only give plain water for the first two weeks so about 14 to 15 days and then I give my autos there first dose of nutes but just at half strength so if it says give 5ml I give 2.5ml and after that I give full strength nutes at every other watering I do a feed, water, feed, water schedule

the plants that are still growing roots (the ones without the 1 bladed leaves at the top) can get more water, but you shouldn't give more water to the ones that are done growing roots. well you can, but you'll have to wait forever between waterings.

Makes sense. Thanks b.

Thanks db. I'm going to leave the photo alone (Nebula), but I'll give a light bloom feeding next time and see what happens with the ABs.

no problem and just a suggestion.. maybe move the cfls so they're not blocking the led light? maybe mount it where you have a spot for a fourth plant?

It is. The ABs are under the led. Nebula gets a little splash of led and her other parts have 2 100w 6500k cfl over it.

Took a bold move today. I soaked both AB in a half strength nutes water. And I clipped a few leaves off AB2, just the most lower leaves, nothing drastic.
However, I spent time with Nebula clipping half her leaves off and tied her down. I spread open the area where my first top was. The net result is that I have decreased her height by nearly 2 inches, creating a nice open canopy. I figured I could rough her up since she is a photo plant and since she is still in veg, she will have plenty of time to recover.
