Colesdad Tries Again - LED - GGG Baby Freedom - Ideal420 Soil - 12/12 From Seed

Spitz, she is in the 3 gallon already.

... Update. Both babies are "alive", they are already leaning towards the bulbs. I have removed the domes. I still do not have a light to shine on Nebula, she is getting indirect light that is over the babies. I know this certainly isn't ideal. I'm going to see what I can do with the sockets I have. I need to get the light hangers hooked to the led, and then mount it high and turn it on. The little ones will be shielded from the light by the cfl bulbs/sockets and it will be about 30 inches above Nebula. I am going to wait a few days still before I switch the led on though.

Very nice CD. I've actually had pretty good luck with seedlings under LED. I'd sure hate to see you take a step back though. Hang that baby a good 48" high when you do. Move it down a bit every week or so. Watch those temps! I suspect that may have been one of your biggest issues. Looking good sir!!

nice CD. you're growing good now. the thing about leds is that they're strong and if a plant is already stressed the leds are going to cook it. I think now that you're watering properly and not overfeeding you should be ok running your led fixture as long as you follow the manufactures recommendations.

Ran the led for 2 hours late yesterday to see how it affected temps. With a pan of water, 4 cfls and a 300w mars led it was 88degrees and 39% humidity. Earlier during my recent grows the temp would reach nearly 100%, now that I have a fan inside and cool air blowing in and an exhaust duct at the top of the tent I'm happy with temp and humidity. I know 88 is high, but im satisfied with it for now!

88 degrees is pretty stressful. maybe run only 2 cfls?

OK, I'll try that from 630-830 this evening and see what happens.

Ran 2 cfl and the led for 2 hours last night, temp was no higher than 84 degrees. So, this is how I'm going to run things from now on.
Nebula is out of her seedling phase and is now an adult veg plant. She is able to now communicate. She hasn't had water since her transplant and last night she was a little droopy, so I have her a good amount of water and this morning her leaves are flat and reaching tall.
The babies are good and are noticeably growing.

Thanks to a friend I've meet here, I will soon have a more active air flow system. I should be getting an inline exhaust fan within a few weeks.

I'm bored. So, I put together a few pictures.

The day "zero" picture is of Nebula when she was transplanted into roots organic.

I'll take some pics today. Nebula isn't growing much, but she doesn't have a direct light source. The led makes the tent too hot, so I have been turning it on in the evening so it runs for only a few hours. The two ABs are doing marvelous. They are the best looking babies I have ever grown.
I credit a two things, seed straight to soil after germ and using roots organic soil.

ABs are about 8 days old. I have no complaints, they look great!

Nebula is about 6 weeks old. She had been in roots organic for approximately 3 weeks. Two days ago I have her about two cups of water, her first real watering since going into roots. There are a few leaves who's tips are touching the soil, I know this causes discoloration and death, so I need to clip those. She has the reverse taco thing going on with her leaves and slightly brownish tips on the newer leaves. My thoughts are heat issues, right? I'm sure she isn't hungry, she is a beautiful dark green. The first picture is natural light to show her natural color, the second I used the flash so the tips discoloration can be seen.

Thoughts?

It looks like nutrient stress. I think she just has to grow through it. she may be rooting right now which is why you don't see much activity above ground. heat stress makes leaves taco upwards and fray.

I think the ABs look great! Agreed with B on the Nebula. She's got to grow through it. No food, proper water, and she'll pull through. Looking grand sir!

I see your browsing around 420magazine while you're out of town, is the wifey tending the garden?

So what's the current light source? Is it possible to just keep the tent door cracked open with a fan or something to keep the heat down a little ? What size pots are these ladies in?
Light source. Each baby has 2 6500k 100w cfls. Nebula has no direct light source. I will sometimes turn the led on, and it is about 30 inches above her, so, she really isn't getting much light from the led. They are in 3 gallon fabric pots.
My concerns with Nebula are no more. She was thirsty, today all her can leaves are straight and she has grown about 1/2 inches in the last two days. It's really amazing to see her now compared to 2 days ago.

Good news! I grabbed a lamp for $3 at the thrift store. I'll need to take it apart, but, by this afternoon Nebula will have 2 6500k bulbs also! I'm very excited.
With the led off, temps are staying at 79 degrees. Within a week I will have an inline fan so I will get much more fresh, cooler, air into the tent.

Edit: well, the extra bulbs I have are 5000k. I guess it will have to do until I can hit up the hardware store.

A little of of the garden. Everyone is doing great, loving the dirt, living the lights and enjoying the fact I no longer am an overwaterer!
I haven't watered the babies in over a week, and they're showing no signs of needing any.
In meeting up with a local mmj activist Thursday or Friday, he is donating to me two fans, a fan speed controller and a few beans.

A little drug use history. High school was awesome, everyday, especially at lunch time. During college my use became much less frequent, like twice. So, basically almost 20 years, mostly because my wife was totally against it and because I had a great job. I've been around pot plenty of times since, about a half dozen friends do it, and if it's their house or neutral territory I don't care (actually a little envious). I know the smell, for sure.
Just a few minutes ago I opened my tent to have a look-see, and I was greeted with a small whiff of heaven. Glorious!
I am feeling more confident now, I have reached the stage of growth that I have never been, the smells-like-someones-growing-weed stage.
Very glorious indeed.

The Autoberries look great! The ones I grew stunk! Well, they smelled wonderful.. but strong! Something to think about in the future. The Maui and Purple Haze I have are basically odorless. It looks like Nebula is getting stronger too! Looking forward to seeing that LED in there soon too! Get your temps dialed in and they will practically grow themselves! Looking forward to a harvest CD!

Do you have a fan in there? A small 6" clip on desk fan blowing up at the lights will change the temp profile of your tent (cooler at the bottom) and move enough air around to keep them in fresh air.

I do have a clip on can in the tent. It is blowing across the tops of the plants, about 12 above actually. Should I be pointing the fan upwards?
