Clones In Soil: Hybrid Perpetual Grow 2021/2022

Exactly! Sometimes I find it best to keep the water running slowly and keep squeezing the sides of the cup to make sure the roots come out neatly. No need to clean off any perlite stuck to the roots.

Then I fill a solo cup halfway, place the stem in, and fill the rest in. Make sure you don't hold the stem as you press down the soil as it will shear off the roots (don't ask how I know  ). Just press everything down together, or tap the bottom on a counter to loosely pack the soil.

21 days of flowering….hey guys, do you see what I see??? :cough: (He’s singing right lol) :p

21 day flower updates, questions and concerns, as per usual….
First pic it was obvious what needed to be taken, so I took it lol
Should I go ahead and thin out the canopy, taking some fans and some branches or leave them be?
I also wondered if I should add the scrog net for support?
My canopy is a bit uneven right now but not too bad.
I watered on Sunday and they’re already dry all the way down to the bottom. Is it ok to water every day at this stage, can they handle it?
Some or should I say all the fan leave’s are so huge, it’s crazy…..I love it, but they can be so annoying :battingeyelashes:

I learned this the hard way.

The leaves are basically the plants mouth. It’s where she gets her air to breath and drinks in the sunshine to make her grow. I tuck them now. I will nip if I have an abundance of leaves, but I try not to take anything I don’t need to.

Oh please stop stretching, please :nervous-guy:
I had to raise the light again, which I figured I would, hopefully for the last time though. I finally figured out how to use the fasteners, to my advantage lol

Trala is spot on. I never take fans after flip unless it's really dense underneath blocking airflow down under. Branches can go once stretch is over, but leave the adjoining fans.

And once stretch is over, raise your shorter plants so they're all about the same distance from the light.
I’m a slow learner granted, but I do usually get there in the end ;)

I know, I know I’m probably getting pretty annoying asking when and if to take the leaves so many times, its jut bc I’ve heard that you need or should take them at a certain time during flower. But I won’t do anything unless @InTheShed or someone here at 420 like yourself, says it’s ok. Or at least double even triple checking lol bc they are so huge, but I totally understand. I promise not to take anything not already dying off or whatever. :snowboating:

Never be afraid to ask and never worry about being seen as annoying. I have been a member here for over a year and in that time I’ve learned we attract the exact mentor we need, as you have done nabbing Shed. He is basically seen as 420 royalty btw.

My mentor went so far to post step by step instructions and draw lines to the exact point of my defol. Unlike you I am a super slow learner and need heaps of hand holding. Still do tbh.

Much like administering medication you can’t ungive it once a patient swallows, and you can’t uncut a leaf after it’s cut. It takes so much time and energy for your plant to produce that leaf, it makes sense to triple check.

I will be defolling soon and I take a pic of my whole plant so I can be advised where to start to thin. I still do this a year on.

I think you are growing beautifully and you are a joy to watch :)

Well it looks like lil miss Sandia Sangría (back right corner) is still stretching away. I was hoping she stoped, as a matter of fact I was sure she stopped stretching. But after watering yesterday looks like she went ahead and stretched a little more. I’m hoping she’s done because she’s making my canopy look all uneven.
They all sure do look really big and beautiful though!
Ps. Taking fan down to be cleaned rn!!!! Eu

Hey y’all, so today is week 3 flower….I’ll be taking the smaller branches that didn’t get as tall as the other tops. I see two branches on the Sandia Sangría and one on Arise that are obvious to me. so I think it will be OK. I’m pretty impressed bc I can actually see the shape I want the plant to be in without removing hella branches and leaves. I think I’m starting to get the hang of this grooming, thinning, defoliation, pruning etc. Slowly but surely starting to retain all this information about growing weed. :Namaste:

I’m not sure about taking the branches from future (last pic) so I used a twisty tie to hold the top that was poking out to the side. But they’re both so short compared. Without those 2 tops it’ll still have 9 tops. Idk

Love those frost rails already growing on the leaves! Keep an eye on the edges as some of them are starting to curl up. That's an early sign of light stress.
Oh noo!! Ok. I’ll definitely be sure to keep an eye out for, well any type of stress but light stress for sure! If that were to be the case what should I do, lower the percentage of the light, and if so by how much?

Think of it like weather. Give them a few cloudy days and see how they respond.

Knock it back, like 20% or so? It's easy to turn the knob up and down. :cheesygrinsmiley:

The best method is to move the light away, though. That lets the lower growth continue to get good strong light. The canopy deepens.

[Edit] I made a typo when I told you about canopy depth and the rate that lumens fall as you increase the headroom. At twice the distance you lose 2/3 of the intensity (not 1/3). If you have 1200 umols at 14 inches (1200 is where you start to get light fatigue), you'll have ~400 at 28 inches. 500 is about the minimum for good growth. So you have a 14" deep canopy.

If you have a stronger light and you can get 1200 umols at 24", you have a 24" deep canopy. That's a big deal. I have too much light and can get decent frosty buds at 40+" from the light. :cheesygrinsmiley:

So, think in terms of moving them away from the light, until you run out of ceiling. Like Shed suggested, you can always supercrop the highest tops, too. It's well worth it for yield.

:thumb:

Ok yeah, I give them a cloudy day every time I water.
I went ahead with supercroping, I hope I did it right. I tried to bend them in the direction to where there was an empty space.
