Clones In Soil: Hybrid Perpetual Grow 2021/2022

Thinning, defoliation, oh my!!! Here I’m thinking it’s all the same…

Defoliation would be to remove the foliage, or leaves. Lollipopping would be defoliation for sure.

Thinning can mean the same, but I use it the way you would when thinning fruit trees, which would be to remove a certain percentage of the fruit to allow those remaining to grow worthy of harvesting!
Gotcha, see you always know how to explain it so that even I have an, aha moment! Now I totally understand the difference.
And just so I’m absolutely positive I’m going to ask again. Is it ok to remove the fan leaves that are in the middle blocking bud sites! There are beginning to be way too many and really huge for me to tuck away bc then they’re just in the way for another site. I must admit they are really irritating me. I really don’t want to take anything at all bc I don’t know when to stop. SMH

The girls must’ve grown 4 inches since Wednesday. I really hope they’re done with their stretch. We are now 12 inches away from the light. I checked on Wednesday and I was at least 17 inches away. I’m trying to keep them at least 14 inches from the light as per @Graytail.

My canopy is looking a little disheveled bc I moved my leggy sativa to the back and brought shorty to the front. This Sandia Sangría is a pain. Every since she was a just a little clone she fought me every step of the way and still is. She decided she wanted to be taller than the other 3 over night. She got sooo tall and this is after, I absolutely chopped one of her heads off. Which still isn’t looking too good, atm. But I’ll wait until tomorrow to lay her to rest, if she doesn’t respond. :nervous-guy:
I knew the longer vegged the the bigger they would get in the 2-3 week stretch at the beginning of flower. I kept pinching the stems to control the height but I stopped once I flipped to flower, I don’t think I should have stopped.

You have tons of headroom if you strap the light directly to the top bars so don't worry about that yet. I'd say that snapped branch isn't coming back so you can remove the bandage and make a clean cut at the break. The 17" rule isn't hard and fast since it will depend on lux at the top.

I would tuck rather than pluck.
I really don’t want to take anything at all bc I don’t know when to stop.
Self-knowledge is incredibly valuable!

Really, cool!! I haven’t tried any of those, they all sound so yummy though Yaaay I can’t wait, I’m getting so excited :Rasta:

The light is now at 14 inch’s from the tallest top. I put the light on these fasteners I can rise up and down. So no worries if they do decide to keep stretching. We will be 3 weeks into flower on Tuesday the 23rd.

The sativa may not finish stretching for at least another week. Plants that can run 11+ weeks in flower get a timetable all their own!
And I have 3 sativa and 1 indica, they’re all hybrid.
Sandia Sangría- sativa
Hood candy- sativa
Future-sativa
Arise- indica

The girls are looking so thirsty today. They definitely want to be watered every other day rn. Yesterday would have been their watering day but I got busy and forgot, well they’re definitely showing it!

In other news, we have an update on our clones…..we have some roots, 4 of 8 clones in perlite have roots that are visible, without floating the perlite. We have 11 clones total. The others I don’t see anything poking through just yet. But that’s ok, bc the others are about a week behind. :thumb:

:welldone: Told you it was easy peasy!

Once you have roots you can plant them.
I went a head and checked the other clones, by floating the perlite and they too have roots.
Will they be in Veg once they’re all in soil?

Yup! Keep them at 18/6 (or wherever you have them now) and let 'em grow.
Ok, so I was also wondering how exactly to transplant them without destroying the roots? Do I take the clone out of the perlite when floating it, then place it in soil?
