Chrome's 'Just Mess'in Around' CFL + Bag Seed Grow

you can see where the better lights , hps etc come into it their own once you have bought a dozen bulbs and reflectors and want even more don't you? Of course the stumbling block is the forking out cash all in one go so I see why people still go that route etc. A shame man. Not everyone makes such a great job of it as you.

Pros and cons between soil and hydro of course but sure you will get to grips with whichever methods you choose, especially if 'the other half' is getting more involved and being helpful.

Keep up the good work amigo

Hey thanks man. I definitely understand what your saying about the bigger lights. How ever Given the heat and coast of running I still choose the CFl's. Though yes I do want more. :smokin: Only cause even though This is a relatively half assed grow once I get into something I tend to keep tweaking and modifying till I am happy.

As for hydro, keeping it simple. I want to run two small 3 to 4 gal DWCs each running two plants. I am sure that even running a DWC as simple as it is will present a whole world of new challenges for me. Its just soil is so darn messy, dealing with run off, storing left over dirt, harder to read your roots environmental PH, the cat wants to dig in it.. ugh its just such a hassle. Plus the woman wants the pot to plant pretty nonsmoking flowers in.. Pft.. what a waste. haha

Maybe you could use some form of box or some simple structure you could throw together. After all the clones won't get too big. No sense wasting money if there only gonna be there for a few weeks.

A little tip with the camera as mine sucks up close as well. Placing the lens through your magnifying glass will help it focus much closer.

Yeah I'm not sure yet what my plan is yet. I have the bulbs and every thing so thats not a problem its just setting them up some place out of the way. I'll figure it out when its time.

I'll have to try the magnifying glass camera trick some time. I thought about that but didn't think it would actually work.

So I was thinking, I want to remove all the large fan leafs.. IS it too early you think or is it a good time? they are just totally getting in the way and blocking light to bud sites. Plus since a bunch have burn marks they look god awful too..

no man i wouldnt cut any fan leaves, they store sugar and food etc for if your plant ever decideds to go into nute lockout, or if you plan on flushing with ph'd water week or two before harvest..they need those fan leaves. You would stun her if you cut them off, i learned the hard way.

but they are so big and in the way.. ok then.. I'll leave 'em be.. I'll just have to get more side lights then!!! :D yes! hope the misses doesn't bitch too much about me spending more money on this lady.. I think she gets jealous. I'll just tell her you said I had too!

yeah ive found that if you take the budsite when it streches enough, and kind of put it above the fan leaf it gets more light and the fan leaves dont seem to mind, but i agree those leaves are annoying and seem pointless but really do serve a purpose, like when they fall off by themselves, you know they sucked all the juice out of the leaf first. but i wouldnt worry about light not gettin down on the sides, plus if you get more you will be set for sure i would think haha

Yeah I'm going to need them for the next round any ways. 4 plants will each get their own 4 bulb light rig. so I might as well just get them now..

damn 16 all together! haha nuts. i have 2, yours puts mine to shame. You will probably have some frosty colas in the end of it all haha but thats the idea right?

What? no.... god that would be terrible!! :grinjoint: Ok I have to go home now. been stuck at work for two hours. I will leave the leafs alone.

Good advice miller, tucking fan leaves is the best way IMO. But there is much debate on whether to trim or not, I have checked many journals and saw success both ways. I like to experiment with 1 plant per grow, trying LST,FIM or just pruning differently. Remember, the best way for others may not be the best way for your setup :peace: :goodjob:

Hey guys! been a few days so I thought I'd drop some photos. I was messing around with a magnifying glass trying for some marcos. The glass I have is rectangular which tended to oblong the images. How ever i managed to get a few post worth pics.

I've been reading your thread.

Well... just about all of it.
I've started my own little outdoor grow just this past week; and I've come back to this site just because of the amount of information I can get my hands on and A LOT of it is very useful.

Now since my plants have started to grow a little bit I'll post up a journal.
But Ima check into this thread and see how it's going.

Nice buddy! So you are on day 17 flower did I get that right? Looking Good!

You got a jump on me now, would you believe all 5 I moved to 12/12 the first time all turned out to be males. Good news is with the rest I am 95% sure are all female. So 7 out of 12 not bad!

YES, a beautiful girl:bravo:

Take care of that little pookie poo poos. lol

Your on the road to financial freedom!

Yeah, all i need to do is get my butt in gear and make some clones and I'm good to go.

A buddy of mine became a father yesterday...to be honest though I'm more excited about your plant being a girl lol. I'm not a "baby" kinda person at all though *don't tell him I said that lol*

Hahahaha, I wont tell him. .

Ummm, sure we can say 17. I really have no idea. I find when i was trying to keep track of time all it did was make me worry that they weren't doing as good as they should have. So from now on no more time keeping, the plant will let me know when it needs any thing.
