Cardboard Flowerbox Test 3 - 41 Week Perpetual SOG

re: Cardboard Flowerbox Test 3 - 41 Week Perpetual SOG

Just so you know, I consider the term "Geek" or "g33k" to be a compliment, rather than a ... a... Wow, I haven't used the word in so long I forgot what it was. When you talk bad about someone and call them a word that is supposed to be bad? Sigh... I really can't remember the word...

EDIT: INSULT!! I had to go look it up, lol! How frikkin' funny.

Take it as the compliment intended.

where im from a geek is someone clever, probably very good at some specialised subjects.

Nerd is the guy who has no friends, doesnt dress very well and is probably spotty, lol ;)

Hey there Jandre!

Great experiment on taking clones. Look forward to see how they take root! I have the same bottle of Oliva's cloning gel since my first grow almost 3 years ago. I have made several clones and still have about 90% left of the bottle. Never lost a single clone. I have thought about what you are doing before too. Really look forward to see the results.

Man, I'm still back here looking at you girls.. They truly look beautiful and healthy. :cheertwo::cheertwo::cheertwo:
OMM, You flatter me with your words; they are most welcome, and I thank you! :thumb: :thankyou:

I thought since there is no documented experiments as it happens, I should record it day by day for all to see including the N Starvation and the critical point at which clones are to be taken.

re: Cardboard Flowerbox Test 3 - 41 Week Perpetual SOG

LOL. Well I am a few days ahead of you on the experiment. I did my cloning last night. But I only did 2 that are in H20 only (no hormone or anything at all), 12 are in rockwool with my clonex solution, and 13 are in rapid rooters and clonex solution.

:thumb:

EDIT: N starved mothers, as you so kindly guided me to.

Okay folks... here we are at in the middle of week 4...

So I got the CO2 enhancers from TNB Naturals in BC...

The Enhancer
Our product is made from all natural , 100% organic ingredients which when activated create a blast of CO2 that can reach 1200 ppm in a 12x12x12 area.
Activate the Enhancer by simply adding warm water, placing the lid back on and shaking. Its as simple as that! The Enhancer works of the natural phenom know as photosynthesis and will begin to disperse CO2 within 8 to 10 hours. Giving the Enhancer a quick shake every day or two is all that this miraculous product requires. At the end of the two week lifespan, simply recycle the canister and grab another. You wont believe your eyes as you watch your plants health and overall yield increase dramatically.

Check this out...

IT SCREWED INTO MY CURRENT DISPERSAL UNIT!!!

Now here's the bad news......... Did you read the part about 8-10 hours?? LIES!!

I didn't want to set this thing in, and have it run the first part after the lights went off... 8-10 hours is quite a lot of time to brew up a batch of yeast, but I figured they knew what was going on... So, in order to begin CO2 as the lights came on, I set this bottle in at 9am, giving 10 hours until lights on to get the bubbler going... I mean, I didn't want to set it going right as lights came on tonight, bacause there would have been that 8-10 hour lag, and would have only gotten 2 hours of the most active CO2 dispersal, and then the lights would go out.

This I found out was a BIG MISTAKE!!!

Not 30min after it was bubbling away like a frikkin submarine blowing main ballast. This would have normally excited me... BUT IT WAS FRIKKIN DARK!!!

Who can see what's wrong with this scenario?? Do plants use CO2 with no light?? Anyone??

NO!!! So I have all this CO2 just bubbling up into the growspace in what I am assuming is this yeast strain's most active period, being right after re-hydration, and it's frikkin' dark.

Sad sad sad faces.

re: Cardboard Flowerbox Test 3 - 41 Week Perpetual SOG

no way to seal up the room to preserve the co2 build up? maybe they will start eating it wen they wake up if you save enough.

just remember to leave a small gap for air to escape, seeing as co2 is heavier ;)

I turned the main extrac-fan off, and left the recirc fans on... As soon as I heard the HPS Ballast start to hum, I timed it to 25 minutes. Giving ample time to heat up to 87*, and poked the button to the extraction fan. I couldn't wait any longer than that. A 400w bulb heats up a 2x4x5 very quickly. So they had probably about 11 minutes from 80* to 87* so they could pull out as much CO2 as they could before the extraction fan came on.

Cool, glad to see someone testing out the TNB stuff.

Bummer about the fizzy dark period. Congrats on the killer nug jar! :high-five:

re: Cardboard Flowerbox Test 3 - 41 Week Perpetual SOG

I think I'm going to stop N-starving myself finally (I say while gasping for air). I found out that human cloning is illegal anyway. Damnit. One X is plenty anyway, 3 is just... pornographic. Like the Olympics. The XXX Olympics. Oh, yeah baby.

sweet jar Jandre:bravo: dont let alex harvey in there:)

re: Cardboard Flowerbox Test 3 - 41 Week Perpetual SOG

i here you on that gigabane, same with me, if i ever won any contest then id donate it to other growers on here, but chances are they will just pass the prizes on to the 2nd place winner, i cant see why they cant send them to us, they have not said anything about not sending them but chances are its a usa prize only, but nothing their is illegal in my country, it can all be used so not sure why its only usa, maybe its cost related, id be more than happy to pay the postage if i ever won, but i dont think its going to happen, their are way to many top growers on here that are more deserving, ive got loads of help and advice from many of them, so i do my best to pass on as much as i can to help other growers,
would love one of them jars though,

re: Cardboard Flowerbox Test 3 - 41 Week Perpetual SOG

Hi, all! I had a brief hiatus from . . . well, the internet while I argued with AT&T about money. They said they wanted some of mine, while I insisted I was a turnip.

Anyway, I'll be responding to all shortly, just wanted to give this quick update.

Cut 36 clones today
10 Lamb's Bread
07 Purple Mr. Nice
07 Purple Widow
06 Plushberry
06 Green Fluffy Bunnies

So, from they beginning of N Starvation, 07-29-2012, to today when they showed me lighter green tips, 08-04-2012, it was actually 7 days. I was thinking about why it took so long this time, and I realized that I didn't flush the medium this time before starting N Starvation. DUH!

So anyway 1 week of straight water in non-flushed medium, and they were ready for cuttings. Purple Cindy Wasn't strong enough yet for clones, as she only started growing less than a month ago, but the other 5 mums were, so they got severely hacked, lol! They needed it badly, too! My lights were as far up as they could go, and the new tips were still on the light tubes.

Also soaked 7 Jandre Kush getting ready for cubes. I am going to pop them in tomorrow after they warm up, and hopefully crack (Paper Towel on the bottom left). Once they do, I just drop them in the cubes and pinch them shut, no need to try to get the point down or anything, seeds are able to figure that part out as to which way is up quite well.

Will be topping and manicuring these for the box I have, and will go into phase 4, I think. It takes almost 2 full months for these to fully mature and go into flower. I germinated the last ones on 05-20-2012, they went into flower lights on 07-02-2012, and most of them didn't even show sec completely until just a few weeks ago, with one of the males stalling his show until only about 2 weeks ago. So they need a LONG veg time before putting into Flower.

Also did some selective culling in K-8. Left still in the bin are:
10 Jandre Kush
03 Purple Mr. Nice
01 Plushberry
01 Dream Diesel

The Dream Diesel was really hit hard by those bugs, and almost died. However, I refuse to give up on this plant, because it's the only one I have, so I will nurse it back to health, and hopefully later it will join the other mothers in a second wing to the Maternity Ward, later on this year.

Flowering update will be tomorrow just after lights-out, so I can turn on the T5's and get some good pics.
