Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

Are you pregnant?
While it’s always a possibility, the chances are slim. Given I’m low on lady hormones I’d be having a little cretin with chromosomal issues fo sho.

Thank You, T! I'm going to soak one tomorrow, so we'll see real soon!

And now it's time for the harvest Update on the 145 day old ATF (Alaskan Thunderfuck)
She was grown in a 4.5 gallon diy SIP with Grow Dots, supplemented from day 70 with Purpinator- (not for purple, but for the pK boost) She was in the sip for 123 days.

87 days flowering- still not quite as much amber as I'd like, but close enough...she popped out a few more nanners overnight.. she's not a hermie, just tired of waiting to get knocked up...so she's trying to do it herself.....😁
Her final SaugaView®:

One last budshot...
2 last bud pic.jpg

I finally got to do the silhouette shot- this was before I removed the big fanleaves...this is her first (and last) time out of the box in 4 months...she's 21 inches tall...

And...after fanleaf and tiedown removal
5 No fan leaves.jpg

A closer look...This plant has the strongest branches of any plant I've grown- that's thanks to the SIP!
6 Big fans gone.jpg

Sometimes node#1 does pretty well, sometimes not so much..got a little of both on this one...
7 Node 1.jpg

After about 3 hours of trimming (jeez I'm slow...) here's what I've got- 30.4 oz/ 850 g. wet, so around 7.5-8oz. dry..
8 850 grams.jpg

One more before she goes into the drying box...
9 ATF Big bud.jpg

She'll spend 6 or 7 days in here- the box has a little exhaust fan that comes on for half an hour every 6 hours- that helps it to dry as slowly as possible- it takes about 2 days longer to dry in the box than it would just hanging the weed in the garage..the slower, the better...
10 Drying box.jpg

I'll let the SIP dry out for a few days, then I'll find out what the roots were doing in there.
The next one will also be grown in this SIP- the half-gallon rez. is a little small, but it's not a problem to just pour half a gallon in there every morning..
Empty SIP.jpg

And there you have it!
A special Thank You goes out to the Va. seed fairy, for supplying the seed for this one..❤️

And to @Azimuth, for getting this SIP thing started!...💚

Thank You for looking, I appreciate the support..:peace:

I hope your week is going well, and your gardens are growing like weeds!
Good morning C Star!

You grow a corker!

If there was a prize, you'd get it, Azi!

Karnac was always my favorite bit on the show..😁
Mine too Carcass!

Their reactions to the duds were priceless.

Nothing growing yet, so no plant update-
but...I opened up the SIP this morning to see what's been going on in there for the last 3 months...not that you're interested, but it's all I got today!

A few small roots made it to the rez, but it was very few compared to the overall root picture..
The brown "sludge" in there is from adding Real Growers Recharge to the rez once a week...
SIP 0.jpg

This one had more roots than the Amnesia Haze- not many just below the surface, but an inch or so down there's plenty...
SIP 1.JPG

Quite a "mat" of roots at the bottom of the top bucket- the mat is about .75 inches thick.
Only 40-50 little roots made it to the rez..
SIP 3.JPG

This one also had a taproot, unlike the last one. The roots grew quite a bit better in this one than in the air chamber SIP- although the air chamber SIP grew a real nice plant too...
SIP 4.JPG

So there it is- ready for the next one...nothing's getting modified or changed-
it worked fine just the way it is..
SIP 5.JPG

A closer look at the wicking foot..(Trader Joe's Tzatziki Dip container🙂)
SIP 6.JPG

The ATF is still drying, feels like she's got about two days to go (today is day 5)
SIP 7.jpg

And, the next one to grow in the SIP- I soaked one on Friday, stuck her in the cup on Saturday, and Monday, I've got nothing...I didn't bother getting a pic- if you've seen one cup 'o wet dirt, you've seen them all... 😁
Wookiee.jpg

And that about covers it for today!

Thank You for looking,
I appreciate your support..❤️
Have an outstanding week!

When/if I get one to sprout, I'll let you know...

Wait. There's no prize?!
Sorry Azi..no prizes.... but here's a big ol' hug instead!...
Mine too Carcass!

Their reactions to the duds were priceless.
And the duds were often funnier than the actual jokes !

just tired of waiting to get knocked up...so she's trying to do it herself.....😁
I remember those days...

A Wookiee? Sweet.
Can't wait to see you work your magic on her.

Hi, VG! Thanks for stopping in!

Yep, looks like she's a "go"...👍

Me: >--> 😃

Good morning C Wookiee!

Good job! My little WF2’s always EXPLODE through the dirt.

Did you see I cloned my stressed out Wookiee? I can’t believe she struck. Lol.

Everyone: don’t stress autos
Me: 👻👻👻

Everyone: no point in cloning an auto
Me: 🌱

Lolling!

:happy-birthday: lil Wookiee!
Thank You, HH! It's odd, not killing the first one...:rip:
That ATF is holding on to her girth and not shiriking that much!
They have shrunk some, but nothing like the airy buds from the Amnesia Haze- they got real skinny by the time they were dry...I just checked the ATF a little while ago- one more day till jar and sample time!

Thanks, T- this one did the same thing- it was a big fat seed, too, so I've got high hopes...🤞
Everyone: no point in cloning an auto
Me:🌱
J. did that once- I really didn't think it was possible till then...
it takes special skills, and you've got 'em!
Everyone: don’t stress autos
Me: 👻👻👻
Just treat them like a plant, and they'll do the rest (sometimes..)

Count me in the "not everyone" crowd. I top, train, and defoliate my autos the same way I do my photos and achieve yields that are on par with photos that take 6 weeks longer.

I take the topping one step further and continue to top every possible node site till I’m ready to flower. For me it delays flower and allows me more growth/veg time. Following the auto rule book has seen me produce underwhelming autos. Average yield is 28g/1oz. My latest auto should be ready to weigh today and I think I’ll get 2oz, which will be double, still light, but improving.

I actually found out by accident. I accidentally tore off the main arm of my Wedding Cake auto, and in a tanty topped every possible bud site left, thinking “that will get me a couple more Coca-Cola’s”. And it did.

The Wookiee I’m growing now has been topped and fimmed at every top point. She is by far my best Wookiee.

I’ve never needed to defol. My autos are always light on leaves.
