Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

Oooh-hooo, careful,@GratefulBud It's the same molecules against each other the whole time in a SIP, if any of ém will start changing into other chemicals it's these guys. Chemical bonding is thermobaric... no that's not the word, but heat can do a lot more than just release the food. Just as importantly, the Oxygen level drops at 70f, which is critical, oxygen from the airgap is what makes SIP work. Just a head's up.
Thanks RD!

Would you suggest a larger or perhaps even two overflow pipes?

I'm no expert, but it seems like you could just add a few extra air holes to the "air gap" area of the SIP, like half an inch or so above the overflow pipe / high water level- a few small holes to let extra air in shouldn't hurt anything..maybe put some screen over the holes to keep the critters out of the rez...

It's Monday again already!
Time for what will be the final Update on the 143 day old ATF...

She's been loving her SIP for121 days now- she was flipped 91 days ago, flowering for about 85 days...
still 21" tall...
A SaugaView®:
ATF 1.jpg

14 days ago, I predicted she'd be done in ten days...that was a bit optimistic... but she is finally coming down on Wednesday- not much amber on her, but she definitely looks "done" to me otherwise..
Her drinking has also slowed a bit, so it's time...

ATF 3.jpg

She's losing her green pretty fast now- harvest is 2 days away, so it's not a problem..
ATF 4a.jpg

A few of her buds- these are nice and solid- not airy like the Amnesia Haze buds..
ATF 5.jpg

She just keeps putting out the pistils... but I gotta draw the line somewhere...
ATF 6.jpg

It just occurred to me that I'm out of jars..... I'm going to need a few big ones for this girl...
ATF 8a.jpg

ATF 10.jpg

A semi-silhouette shot....Strong framework on this girl, thanks to the SIP- she supports herself just fine...
ATF 7.jpg

Once she's harvested, what's next on the agenda?

I promised my son I'd grow one of his Wookiee F-2's...I grew an F-1 last year, and it was a runt, so lets hope the F-2s do a bit better...
She'll be grown in a SIP, with Grow Dots and Purpinator, just like the ATF ..

There's about 20 seeds there, I should be able to get at least one to sprout...🤪
Wookiees auto.jpg

That's it for today- I'll post up an ATF harvest update in a few days, I hope to see you then!

Thank You for looking,
I appreciate the support:love:

Have a great week!

Spotted this on a lower bud- harmless this late in the grow, but a good indication that she's "ripe"...
so that worked out ok...✂️

I found the same thing on my Sager Bloom Haze F2 pheno at day 57 of flowering which like you mentioned is harmless at this stage of the grow. I'm hoping to push her to 63 days if she'll cooperate since the leaves just started to change colors and I want to take some photos before I give her the chop.📷
Hope you enjoy your harvest Carcass!:yummy:

Perfect timing!
It did work out just right...although, I'd like a little more amber, but I'm not going to wait any longer...
You got her looking great Carcass!
Thank You, Stunger- and just in time to chop her to pieces! 😁
I'm hoping to push her to 63 days if she'll cooperate
You'll probably end up with lots more nanners by then..although they still won't hurt anything...
I found about 7 more on the ATF this morning...once you see one, more aren't far behind, it seems..
Hope you enjoy your harvest Carcass!
Thank You, Cola Monster!
Trim jail is when I start wondering why I left all those tiny branches on her..
I guess the Dots have finally completely run out of steam.
According to their schedule, the Dots are good for 112 days (16 weeks) she's 122 days in the Dots, and she's been fading for a week or so, so their timetable is pretty close.
LOL! Your record is improving.
Ha!- I don't really think I'll have any trouble sprouting one of those big fat seeds..but you just never know...🤪
She really turned into a show plant! Have fun tomorrow!

Thanks, Stone!
I'll do my best to have fun- and the scissor hash will help with that...:ganjamon:

Have a great week!
Good morning C Gull :)

Plant looks mint. Yours seem to go from grow to woah so fast!

Those Wookiee F2 seeds, I’m on my third Wookiee and they always EXPLODE out of the dirt. Like ta DAHHHHH! I’ve got 3 from 3! And tell JG he’s gonna be a daddy again!

Thank You, T! I'm going to soak one tomorrow, so we'll see real soon!
Are you pregnant?

And now it's time for the harvest Update on the 145 day old ATF (Alaskan Thunderfuck)
She was grown in a 4.5 gallon diy SIP with Grow Dots, supplemented from day 70 with Purpinator- (not for purple, but for the pK boost) She was in the sip for 123 days.

87 days flowering- still not quite as much amber as I'd like, but close enough...she popped out a few more nanners overnight.. she's not a hermie, just tired of waiting to get knocked up...so she's trying to do it herself.....😁
Her final SaugaView®:
1 Final ATF.jpg

One last budshot...
2 last bud pic.jpg

I finally got to do the silhouette shot- this was before I removed the big fanleaves...this is her first (and last) time out of the box in 4 months...she's 21 inches tall...
3 Silhouette.jpg

And...after fanleaf and tiedown removal
5 No fan leaves.jpg

A closer look...This plant has the strongest branches of any plant I've grown- that's thanks to the SIP!
6 Big fans gone.jpg

Sometimes node#1 does pretty well, sometimes not so much..got a little of both on this one...
7 Node 1.jpg

After about 3 hours of trimming (jeez I'm slow...) here's what I've got- 30.4 oz/ 850 g. wet, so around 7.5-8oz. dry..
8 850 grams.jpg

One more before she goes into the drying box...
9 ATF Big bud.jpg

She'll spend 6 or 7 days in here- the box has a little exhaust fan that comes on for half an hour every 6 hours- that helps it to dry as slowly as possible- it takes about 2 days longer to dry in the box than it would just hanging the weed in the garage..the slower, the better...
10 Drying box.jpg

I'll let the SIP dry out for a few days, then I'll find out what the roots were doing in there.
The next one will also be grown in this SIP- the half-gallon rez. is a little small, but it's not a problem to just pour half a gallon in there every morning..
Empty SIP.jpg

And there you have it!
A special Thank You goes out to the Va. seed fairy, for supplying the seed for this one..❤️

And to @Azimuth, for getting this SIP thing started!...💚

Thank You for looking, I appreciate the support..:peace:

I hope your week is going well, and your gardens are growing like weeds!

Well that certainly turned out well. Another successful CarcassGrow®! :thumb:

The SIPs leave regular-pot grows in the dust. I'm not sure that would work in my favor but it sure is damn fun to watch!

Thank You, GDB-
I don't think the plants grow any faster, but they do grow stronger than in a regular pot...
You should try a little 3 gallon SIP- that $2 one of mine did pretty well...one little trip to the dollar store, and you'll have all you need...
And thanks for leaving on that weak 1st node branch for us, we appreciate it!
Thanks, Shed!
and, oddly enough, that little branch was the one that showed the first nanner...
She's a showgirl even lying in state Carcass!
Thank You, Stone- she did turn out pretty well, and the scissor hash tells me she'll smoke as good as she looks...
Looks perfect to me. Grats on the takedown
Thanks, Lerugged! She was a fun/easy one to grow- easier than usual, thanks to the SIP!
Nice work CDog. Beautiful flower.
Thank You, NTH!
I'll be smokin' on this one for quite awhile...:lot-o-toke:

It's only a matter of time before I take the plunge Carcass. I sense that "resistance is futile." :)

BTW, which finger did you offer the Mrs. to sniff? That choice may have influenced her decision.
