Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

I know, I know, it's a bit expensive. But when you think about some other nutrient lineups you have to buy all sorts of additives or even their whole lineup, that adds up. I've got the full GH flora series lineup, cheaper nutes but still a lot of coin to get all of it shipped.

I'm not trying to sell anyone on it, just helping locate it for interested people, but the simplicity is unreal. Same amount through the whole grow, everything is buffered. I have 3 strains all different ages, 1 of them in dwc, when I mix nutes I don't have to mix 3 different buckets at different strengths and levels, I make one large batch and off I go. I don't need to change my res every week either because it's the same feed.
5ml/L all the way, I'm liking it. Only thing I add is a little cal-mag because I use RO water.
Oh yeah I can see the benefit for some people for sure.

:ciao: Morning Carcass! I putzed around a bit and tried making your little hook thingys. I had wire left over from an electrical outlet being installed, green garden type wire, and a paperclip. I really wanted to use a plastic coated paperclip but I didn't have any.

The electrical wire was a bit too thick and the garden wire was too flimsy. The paperclip worked pretty well. I'll find some plastic coated ones and make more! Thanks for the invention! :high-five:
Good job!

And when you brand them, carcass, you can call them HT’s - hook thingys.

Or BooWho maybe we should cut him out and you and I can patent them, then we can become rich, buy this forum and make ourselves Super Members.

For £85 a litre I'd hope for some serious results. Must have unicorn blood in it
For that price, it should come with a "happy ending" ... ;)

Or we just license the name, and watch the royalty checks roll in...

Speaking of happy- Happy Monday! It's time for a little Update...

Things are moving right along in the box, the Iced Grapefruit finally reached 6" tall on Saturday, so I flipped her light to 12/12, at 46 days old (6.5 weeks) she's 48 days old today.

She's not quite as green as I'd like her to be, but it is what it is....
1.jpg

Not sure how much she's going to stretch, but as long as it's less than 17", there shouldn't be a problem...

Most of the restraints have been removed now- I'll find out in a week or so if any branches need to be tied down again..
2.jpg

The @Atreum Lighting Hydra-1000 is at 75 watts now- and the plant is loving it- I'll start turning it up more when I see some flowers...
4.jpg

And that's about it for the indoor girl, now to the little outdoor Kalashnikov auto- she's 55 days old today, flowering for 29. 12" tall...
6.jpg

I fed her GF veg nutes, plus 15ml of Terpinator on Thursday afternoon to try and slow down some of the yellowing (veg nutes have more nitrogen than the bloom nutes) but, still lots of yellow...

It's funny- only some of the branches are yellow, and some are the right shade of green- the ones that are green have always been green, the yellow ones just turned that way when I switched from veg nutes to bloom nutes (that's why I switched back, but it's not helping, in fact she's getting worse)

Here's a green bud:

And here's a yellow bud, same plant...
9.jpg

So that's where things are at today...I recieved some 8-0-0 CalMag in the mail today, I'm going to give her some of that next watering to try and stop the yellowing...

Thanks for looking, I really appreciate the support!
Stay safe out there, folks!

Remember it takes 2 weeks for top dress GF to actually work!
Yeah, I get that...the next feeding will also be the last feeding, according to GF's instructions,
so I hope good stuff happens in the next ten days...

Hi Carcass! :ciao: Sooooo, once you get your canopy level for flip you untie them? Ooof! I’ve never done that, must have missed that step. :rollit:
For that price, it should come with a "happy ending" ... ;)
LOL!
Or we just license the name, and watch the royalty checks roll in...
Works for me! :high-five:
She's not quite as green as I'd like her to be
She’s blindingly green to me Carcass! She’s a beauty too! Looking forward to seeing her stretch. The Kalashauto is really interestingly weird. Are the flowers affected or is it just a different color?

I am so glad to hear someone say that. I thought it was my eyes!

Now I know that Carcass is one of those drivers that I'm directly behind who just sits there when the light turns green. If I have to toot my horn to get them moving, I always ask them (though they can't hear me), "What are you waiting for, a different shade of green? " :laughtwo:

You didn't miss anything, I'm just trying something a little different this time- I do usually leave the restraints on, but this one wasn't fighting the tiedowns like the last ones, so I figured I'd remove them
and just put them back on if I need to
She’s blindingly green to me Carcass!
The Hydra-1000 gives her that neon green look, she's a bit pale in person...(out in the sun)
Are the flowers affected or is it just a different color?
The flowers seem to be doing alright, but the green buds are a little bigger than the yellow ones-
that whole "two tone" thing is just weird- either turn yellow, or turn green- pick a effing color already! :hmmmm:

"What are you waiting for, a different shade of green?
This time, I actually am...:)
I'm probably overly concerned that the IG is going to do what the Kalash. did as soon as I start her on bloom nutes. I probably just worry too much...

Said the man who should take a gummy.
You know, you may be right!
I've been a little stressed for the last few days- My uncle died on Wednesday, and on Friday night, my 30 year old son had to be rushed to the hospital from a cocaine/fentanyl overdose- he's ok now, and hopefully a little smarter...He at least learned how unpleasant Narcan (and a drug overdose) can be....
That was rough- you're right- I need to just get good and stoned....

Thanks, Shed-
Supposedly, this was a "one time" thing...I told him once is enough, especially if it kills you...
I keep him supplied with the "something else"...he just needs to choose it instead of the deadly stuff...

My uncle was 94, so that one wasn't really a surprise...and he went quickly, so there was no suffering-
If you gotta die, that's the best way to do it, imo...

For that price, it should come with a "happy ending" ... ;)
Well im going to hope it does.
It seems to be more expensive in the UK for some reason, maybe the company there selling it has a huge markup. It's no more than $100 CDN here and my potted plants look great.

I'm sorry to hear about your uncle as well as your son's mishap. I've been in your son's shoes once but also over a longer period, a rollercoaster over a year or more. I hope he gets better and decides to pick and choose his fun a little more wisely as many of us have. He's only a couple years younger than me and likely a better head on his shoulders than I did at 21. Things that grow in the ground are way more safe than many others. Sending positive vibes today!

I am so sorry to hear about your uncle & your son. I’ll be praying for both of them.

the yellow ones just turned that way when I switched from veg nutes to bloom nutes (that's why I switched back, but it's not helping, in fact she's getting worse)
I don’t see why you can’t use both Veg & Bloom together. When people mix up a super soil they basically front load all the ingredients into the soil. With GF you are only front loading a small portion of the nutes and then adding the rest throughout the grow. If you compare the ingredients in some of the Super Soil recipes to the ingredients in the GF nutes, a lot of them are the same. They are organic, OMRI listed and include registered CDFA OIM ingredients. I really don’t think if you use both at the same time that you will harm your plant.

plus 15ml of Terpinator on Thursday afternoon
I see that Terpinator has an NPK of: 0-0-4 and nothing else. I have some stuff called Signal and it is 0-0-3.1 plus 0.5 Mg & 1.0 sulfur. The max they say to use is 4ml per gallon. You’re using almost 4 times that amount. I wonder if you or anyone else know why there is such a large difference in dosage recommendation ?

I really hope your son turns things around, @Carcass.

As the father of a 30-year-old son, I absolutely understand the stress they can generate for their parents. I try my hardest not to let his shenanigans get to me for my own personal well-being. :green_heart:

I hope he gets better and decides to pick and choose his fun a little more wisely as many of us have.
You and me both! Thanks for the kind words, dick23rk!
I am so sorry to hear about your uncle & your son.
Thank you, bigD!
I don’t see why you can’t use both Veg & Bloom together.
I thought of that too, just not sure of the ratio...50/50, 75/25, or a full dose of each?
I got some "stuff" in the mail yesterday, so now I have other options for adding in a little more nitrogen.

You’re using almost 4 times that amount. I wonder if you or anyone else know why there is such a large difference in dosage recommendation ?
The max dose of Terpinator is 30ml/gallon- I'm pretty sure the product is just diluted more than some others so it's a bit more forgiving, dosage-wise- I've overdosed a plant on potassium- it's definitely not pretty....
so I'll never go over a half dose if I keep using it.
I really hope your son turns things around, @Carcass.
Thanks, GDB! I do too - I hope he's not a slow learner like his dad was....
This episode scared him (and the rest of the family) pretty good- he should have learned from it, time will tell if he did or not...

You definitely need to get high, Carcass and on the good drug not the kind your son tried. I hope the overdose scared him straight away from the bad stuff and straight towards the good stuff.

And, sorry about your uncle as well. He may have been old but he will still be missed.

Happy 420 Carcass and all!
I don’t see why you can’t use both Veg & Bloom together.
The way I figured is Veg is 5-3-4 and Bloom is 3-5-5, and if you put them together you should get (in theory if their organic numbers are correct the way synthetics are) 8-8-9. That's way too much phosphorus for plants according to current science (and the makers of mycorrhizae), so my goal was to stick to the 5-3-4 but use Terpinator for folks who are interested in boosting the K higher in flower.
