Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

Fantastic idea with the peg board carcass!
Thanks, HH! it's going to make training a little easier, I just have to resist the temptation to use it as a handle to pick up the pot...
Love the continued innovation with the pegboard. I've just implemented your bamboo skewer + wire design and I love it.
Thanks, sye! Glad you gave them a try- they do make the training a little easier...
Pity about the yellowing on the Kalashnikov,

Well, they can't all be gems... I've tried a few things (CalMag, Easy Weed) but nothing is doing anything to get rid of the yellow...it's odd, because half the plant is almost too green, and the other half is yellow....(pics in update below)

I hope everyone had a good weekend, and now it's time for Monday's Update!

Things have been going well in the box, the 55 day old Iced Grapefruit was flipped to 12/12 last Sunday (at 47 days old)- she's not doing a lot in the flowering department yet, but she's grown 3 inches in the last 5 days, so she's stretching a bit...

The SaugaView®:
The new growth is coming in a little pale- she's due for her next feeding of GeoFlora nutes on Friday-
I'm not sure yet if I'm going to switch to Bloom nutes, or stick with Veg nutes, and supplement them with a little nitrogen(BPN CalMag) and phosphorous(BPN EasyWeed). As pale as she's getting, I don't think less nitrogen is the way to go right now,so I'm more than likely going to stick with
the Veg nutes+supplements.
(BPN=Blue Planet Nutrients,btw)

1.jpg

She's still only 9" tall, even after growing 3 inches since Thursday. The @Atreum Lighting Hydra-1000 is at 80 watts now- as soon as I see some flowers, I'll turn it the rest of the way up (to 100watts)
Hard to believe she's doing this well at just 80 watts- but she is, and I gotta say, I'm impressed....
2.jpg

The canopy is still pretty flat/even, but that probably won't be the case for much longer...
3a.jpg

Now on to the little 62 day old two-tone Kalashnikov auto- Nothing I did seemed to help with the yellowing, so, rather than messing her up more by trying to fix her, her next (and last) feeding on Friday or Saturday will just be GF Bloom nutes....
5.jpg

Not one of the better autos I've grown, but she'll produce enough to make growing her worthwhile...
and she's the stinkiest plant I've grown so far- she reeks! 4 days ago, she smelled like fruity goodness,
but today she smells like burning tires+skunk...
According to Dope Seeds, she'll be ready in 8 more days(10 weeks old),and I think their estimate is about right-
6.jpg

Already some amber trichs on the sugar leaves, but none yet on the bracts...

9.jpg

7.jpg

The green buds are not huge, but not too bad, but the yellow ones are about as big around as my thumb.......sad little things...:(
11.jpg

And that's about all that's new today!
The IG should have some flowers on her by next week , and the Kalashnikov auto should be just about ready to harvest. (she was a fast one- she's only a week older than the IG)

Thanks for looking-
I appreciate the support!..:peace:
And please, keep being careful out there!

Hey Carcass, Nice everything!
Thanks for the kind words, Stone!

Can you trace the yellow branches/small buds back to one specific branch on the plant?
Most, but not all, are from node1- the others are from node 3- no rhyme or reason to it!
I thought maybe I applied the GF unevenly in some spots, but she's been fed enough times that it should of evened out....I think you're right- she's just a weirdo!
The Kalash also looks beautiful - even with her green and gold coloring. She looks really healthy despite the two tone.
Thanks, Boo! She's definitely "different" in the selective way she turned yellow- like a wide yellow stripe right down the middle....probably never know for sure what really caused it....

Beauty of an IG, Carcass.

If that was my Kalash at the end of a grow I wouldn't be a bit concerned. I'd just shrug my shoulders, take it down and smoke it.

I know that adds nothing to the discussion, and less than nothing to the analysis, but it's all I got. :Rasta:

I'd just shrug my shoulders, take it down and smoke it.
That's what I decided about a week ago- even if I actually fixed it , there's really no time for it to help anything now...
I'm just hoping the IG doesn't pull the same thing...

Now on to the little 62 day old two-tone Kalashnikov auto-
That overhead shot.....wow! You can really see the two tone on it.

Nothing I did seemed to help with the yellowing
Bummer. Wonder if it’s some kind of genetic thing.

She looks really nice :yummy:

I bet she’s really gonna take off.

Hey C-Bomb

Im really sorry to hear about your boy. And condolences regarding your uncle passing.

If you ever need support I’m here. Narcotics are so awesome and fucked at the same time, and my advice not that you asked, keep an eye out. I’ve never known anyone to give up after their first accidental OD. I used to love coke. And fentanyl is the ultimate pain reliever, not that I’ve had it, but I’ve watched it’s therapeutic magic in the wards when treating acute pain. I think coke with a twist of fent sounds delicious.

This is where I think the government education is flawed when it comes to the message it tries to send to the young. Drugs are badddddd, drugs will kill youuuuuuu. Drugs will give you pox on your faceeeeee. You do your first line of coke and feel better than you ever have in your life. It’s how quickly you become addicted and where they take you once you become addicted that is fucked.

Sending you love and sunshine

The T-Bomb

Xo

She looks really nice
Thanks, BigD- and so far, she's even the right color-I just hope she stays that way- that Kalashnikov has me a little nervous about that...
Bummer. Wonder if it’s some kind of genetic thing.
It almost seems like it is- being my first GeoFlora plant, of course, I thought it was a nute problem, but I'm not sure now, since the addition of extra nitrogen had no effect on the yellowing at all- and the parts that are green are mostly too green, like too much nitrogen....I just really don't know yet...
I bet she’s really gonna take off.
I hope so- the plan is to have wall to wall colas in there by the end, but time will tell if that's going to work out...

Im really sorry to hear about your boy. And condolences regarding your uncle passing.
Thanks Trala!
He's doing good so far, and I hope he's done with that shit...but I also know what it took before I straightened out...Hopefully his rock-bottom isn't as far down as mine was...
Thanks for the kind words concerning my uncle...we weren't really that close, but he was a helluva nice guy, and it's very sad that he's gone...I really feel sorry for my aunt- she had a bad fall (she's 92) and went into the hospital on that Monday, two days before he passed- they were married for almost 70 years...

Everything looks great, Carcass. The one that's yellow and green kinda reminds me of a hosta.

Felonious had a variegated Hash Plant last summer but it didn't appear to hurt the yield at all.

Thanks, HashGirl!
The one that's yellow and green kinda reminds me of a hosta.
I had to look that one up... :)
I wish it was just variegated.... but I guess I should be glad that the yellowing only affected about half of the plant- the green half actually did pretty well...there's just not very much of it...

Happy Monday all!.... It's Update time!
Things have been moving right along in the box- the Iced Grapefruit finally started showing some flowers on Thursday, @ 11 days post-flip- She's 62 days old today:

1.jpg

One of her little pom-poms:
2.jpg

She's 12.5 inches tall now, so she's grown 3.5 inches this last week- she also got fed on Tuesday-44g GeoFlora Veg nutes, plus 1g BPN Calmag, .5g BPN Easy Weed,& 4ml Silica blast, a combination that's working well so far- I'm planning on sticking with the veg nutes+ additives all the way to the finish line.

She got watered this morning, just water, plus half a dose of the additives.
3.jpg

I ran out of Mosquito dunks, and all it took was one watering with non dunk-treated water for the soil gnats to come roaring back...I've got more dunks now, but in the time being I got a few sticky traps
to try and keep their numbers down...the traps I got are actually for spiders, but the gnats don't know that...
The @Atreum Lighting Hydra-1000 is at 100 watts now, and the plant is pretty happy with that
(as am I :) )
So much for the flat canopy- hopefully it's fairly even after the stretch, but it is what it is....
4.jpg

Now on to the little Kalashnikov auto-12" tall, 69 days old today, still 2 tone but it doesn't matter because she's done... Dope seeds says 70 days start to finish, so they were right on the money with this one...
5.jpg

This is her last day of sunlight, this evening she goes into the dark closet for 36 hours or so...
6.jpg

There's enough amber for me, so Wednesday is chop day for her
7.jpg

10.jpg

I'll post up some harvest pics on Wednesday- She shouldn't take too long to trim up, since shes a little gal....

Not much more to report today- as soon as she's harvested, I'm going to start my summer outdoor auto grow- I usually start a little earlier, but we had some pretty crappy, sunless weather up until a few days ago...
I know one strain that I'm going to grow out there ( ), but I'm not sure about the second one- I won a few seeds from @CannaPot last month, and they'll be here in a few days, so I'll see what's there before I decide on the second strain...

And that's about all there is today..
Thanks for looking, I really appreciate the support
And please, continue to stay safe out there!
Congrats and Thank You to all who have been, or plan on being vaccinated:thumb:

Looks good, carcass.

Why do you put the plant into darkness for 36 hours before you chop?

It's supposed to bring out a little more THC...but it's one of those things that you don't really know if it does any good or not...
And , she needs watering if she's going to spend anymore days in the sun, and I'd rather harvest when the soil is pretty dry (so there's less moisture in the plant)

Which is beautiful!
still 2 tone but it doesn't matter because she's done.
My kinda' guy! :Rasta:

I can’t believe you’ve already finished an outdoor grow!

Thanks, Boo! - She actually spent a lot of time in the back room under my old light, because I only put her outside when the sun was shining- which was very seldom in the month of April.
But now it looks like the sunny days may be here to stay and I'm really looking forward to the next grow out there...;) (and I think you may know why...)
Nice update, Carcass. And great pics!
Thanks, GDB- I hope I can eventually get her as green as yours, without doing too much damage in the process.......

Congrats on the upcoming harvest on the two-toner! Keep the buds separate as they dry so you can tell if there's a difference between them (in case the color difference doesn't remain)...for science!

And that IG has some pretty looking pom poms!

Nice that you and Justin are trying out opposite directions at the same time. We can see how the leaf-health compares as they get later and later in flower.
