Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg & More! CFL's - LED - HPS

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

You're a class act Canna; I like how you post...almost always helpful, ALWAYS positive, never aggressive and DEFINATELY never a jerk when expressing what's on your mind. The LEDs should be an adventure and I look forward to where it lands down the road.
thanks Jam, I do try to stay positive and look at the good, or pick out the good. LOL Why do I want to sing "jam up and jelly tight" everytime I type your name? :biglaugh::goof:

Sounds like a fun adventure!:thumb:
:surf:
Yeah, I agree! Hope you're having a great day!

Hey Canna!

Your grow gets cooler and cooler by the day. Keep up the good work friend! Your journal is truly a joy to read!:)

Thanks SweetLeef, it's a pleasure to have you here.

I have lots of pictures planned this weekend, I have a new method rigged up for getting in close and personal with no shaky hands on them. Stay tuned......:xmas:

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

I hope that you all have an incredibly relaxed and "medicated" Friday night! The trip home was so icy and stressful that I am heading for deep medication to calm my nerves....and thank the good Lord above for one more "made it home safely". LOL
:peace: to all and to all a good night!

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

You all are sweethearts!
I've been cleaning off the SD card to make space for pics today. Here are a couple from the 18th. This would be trichomes update from Day 61 of flowering:

Question on flushing, ALL opinions and comments are welcome:

With the flush, would it be okay to flush with water softened water from the tap? I don't have R/O water, I'm talking straight from tap through a water softener.
Thanks!

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

You gonna flush the way I read flush or just water the way some other's read flush?

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

Was planning to flush with water 2 to 3 times the size of the pot? Would that be what I should do, or just start watering every couple days with the regular amount with no nutes and using the softened tap water? Hope I'm not being confusing. LOL The only thing I ever flush around here is the toi.....well you know.

I would use r/o water with no nutes...or unsoftened tap water...no nutes, and just water with it as you normally would....you're flushing the plant........not the soil:thumb:

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

Actually, you're flushing the soil, not the plant. The idea is to get rid of the nutes so they're not being uptook by the plant anymore. With that said, I wouldn't do squat to the water other than let it sit a bit to release any chlorine and such that's in it. The minerals (metals) shouldn't pose any real problem and if you're flushing flushing (lol,) even ph'ing shouldn't matter much. That should purge the soil of the nutrients so they're not still in the cured end product that some find unpleasant when consuming. Just my two cents worth a penny at most.

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

Okay, I think I'll stick with the well water from the barn. Unsoftened. I really didn't want to walk the icy path to get there. Grace and I have never met. :laughtwo: Glad to hear that exact Ph'ing won't be too much of a problem, because my PH tester has now gone completely unreliable. Danged cheap CHIT!
Thanks guys. :thanks:

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

I would try and get some ro water. What is the ph and the ppm of the softened water.

Honestly the way I do it is simple just give water the last ten days as I would normally water. You decide when the plant is ready and then start. You can also start the flush with some molasses but I only use it at a a tbsp per five gallons so not much and only one time at ten days before.

I don't like to totally deplete the soil since I am planning on recycling this batch of recycled soil. so it would be going on its third round.

whether your flushing the soil or plant the point is a clean burning smoke I don't care what you call it I care what it smells and tastes like.

cheers canna.

I wouldn't use softened water to flush with......I understand it's not good to grow with.
You are right, it isn't good to grow with. I didn't use it during the grow. Was using rainwater. Now I have snow or barn well water to work with.

Good Point shottafire! I was going to reuse my soil too, I wasn't thinking about that. I need more coffee! :laughtwo:

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

Why would you want it packed with flowering nutes when its gonna be vegging next? You might wanna invest in some hygrozyme if you're really gonna recycle the soil although I'd just trash it myself and start fresh.

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

From what I've been reading up on, the soil can be re-used. This soil mix is well over $20.00 a bag. (yeah I know, there are growers here paying well more than that for their mix, but it's what I have) Don't have the money for new soil for a while with the lighting investments I've made recently. Never heard of hygrozyme, I will look that up.
So, if the soil is flushed...in your opinion...can it be used for vegging? I won't have any in vegging stage for awhile once these clones are moved to flower.
I knew this last process was going to get confusing on me. LOL

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

I recycle my soil since I am organic jamthe3. The soil still needs to be amended with a few things before put to trash cans to cook for a few weeks.
Hygrozyme mehhhh..

I am not saying anymore on the subject. If you want listen to jamthe3 he sounds like a guru.

Yes, of course it can be reused, I'm just lazy and impatient...I reuse my coco, but its real easy to recycle. I'd rather have the medium (whatever it may be) as inert as possible myself for total control of the nutes, just me. Hygrozyme will help break down the root ball left behind into nitrogen and carbs and whatnot. If not in a hurry, you can compost it also in a bag outside in the sun for a while; I wouldn't do it in a normal pile outside to gather bugs; plus in a closed bag sweating, it doesn't take as long.

Actually I was just asking as I grow in Coco now and was always to lazy to mess with soil after one or two tries years ago. I figured considering the source there must be a good reason and was curious to learn more. Sorry if it came out another way as I've seen your threads and know that you're way more likely to be a "Guru" than I. I imagine she probably listens to everyone and then determines for herself the best way to go about something based on her own circumstances. Btw, the High Brix is fascinating and I've been reading that quite intensely as it seems like a better producing alternative to me given my laziness; I honestly can't wait to see how it ends up.
