Okay, I have jumped on the LED bandwagon! I have a couple on order (not a sponsor...yet) and should receive them day after Christmas at the latest.
Now....does anyone have a chart or any information on the "footprints" of LED lighting? I cannot find anything onsite, I am heading onto the net to see if I can find anything.

Leaf Purpling:
Okay,one of my White Widow's is starting to exhibit deep purple coloring to the leaves. The plant problem chart says this can be caused by Phosphorous deficiencies, but other posts state that this can be normal for some plants...and sometimes low temps in the grow room can cause the plant to not suck up phosphorous efficiently.
These plants only have a couple weeks at the most to go, and the pistils on the purpling one are mostly brown.
Should I be worried or start a flush of this plant? I should probably be checking trichome colors on that one now?
I couldn't get a pic tonight. My camera battery died when I really needed it. Will try to get one in the morning.

Enjoy this time when she's finishing....perfectly normal and expected.......I always watch trichs from the time they appear....periodically, til they finish and I watch them more closely cuz I chop when I see two amber trichs!

Thank you! I wasn't real worried, but thought it safer to ask. It's a really purty purple though. LOL
I'll be looking closely at trichs in the morning. :thanks:

purple in the stains nowadays is good thing most of the time its purple stem that you have to watch out for.

I would need some photographs and to know where the leaves are on the plant to better diagnose your purpling leaves. how much in millilitres per gallon and of what are you currently feeding?

Why would you diagnose a plant that was a week or two from finishing ?, would it be wise to start screwing with a plant that's supposed to be dying anyway? The nutrients should be cut off anyhow......or maybe.....and I mean I wouldn't do it, but it could be done......have one more application. At this point you get what you've got, it's too late to alter anything and get more than you would by cutting off everything and going with straight water and maybe a splash of molasses. Just my opinion....realistic. I don't play deficiency games....guessing, or trying to decide what a plant is deficient of. There are common blanket treatments that will alleviate any deficiency you can come up with, why waste valuable time and energy to solve something as easy as a deficiency? Just the way mcloadie deals with the subject, I have bigger fish to fry!

Take any plant with a deficiency....or just looks like shit, flush it with three times the water of the pot size........flush it with a balanced nutrient containing all the micronutrients at 25% nutrient...75 percent of the same water configuration you've been using. If that plant doesn't get better I'll kiss your butt! You do the same for a nutrient burn. IDK why it has to be so complicated, this method has worked EVERY time, the only time I don't do it is if I determine the problem to be so minor that I won't flush, wait out the burn or deficiency by just diluting the crap out of my nutrient solution. I look at it like this........a burn is just barely on the wrong side of a rapid growth cycle.....I don't like flushing the nutrients out of my expensive soil. I only know of one treatment that is so singular, it's a copper deficiency in fruiting walnut trees........copper sulfate in a atomizing rig.

Well, here are a couple pics of my deep purple. (I'm going to have to dig out that old CD, loved that group. LOL)
I am still using full strength nutes, I think it's 5 milliliters of each of the 3 step GH products. (I don't have my syringe handy, so just know it's full strength of the dosing instructions) Nothing else added. I'm thinking I should stop feeding now? It's just this one plant at the moment, and as a coincidence this is the plant was being picky all along on yellowing leaves and I had to give it Cal/mag several times.

Good Morning Mcloadie. :ciao: Are you saying to start the flush on this plant now? I'm going to have to get some molasses for future grows. I don't have a drop of it here anywhere. Use it in baked beans too much. LOL

Just me canna.....are those organic nutes?, either way...I woulda cut it off a week ago. The plant looks lovely! It looks exactly the way it should! I'm a stickler for clean weed, I will even take a little less yield for a cleaner product. I have in the past even gone as far as a thirty day flush.........I know my soil and nutes and know very well what I can get away with. If my plants are screamin green thirty days into flower....I can cut everything but the molasses........and the nutrients that are stacked in the plant and soil will be sufficient for it to finish nicely! I try to have all the nutes used up so that everything on the plant...with the exception of the stems and the sugar leaves ( and of course the bud itself) is yellow and dying from deficiencies....just me, but you will never smoke cleaner weed!

Whatever the Cal/Mag deficiency caused (if anything) on the budding is said and done imho; how often do you water? I think I had it pegged at slightly after New Years for when I thought you'd prob harvest, so imo I'd water once (assuming you're watering twice a week and then start your flushing; and I'd flush well, looks like them full strength newts got you some foxtailing action going...matter of fact, I'd prob just start flushing as soon as the pots are dry from the last feeding.

I saw Richie Blackmore after he'd moved on to Rainbow @ Georgetown Univ w/Pat Travers back in the early eighties I believe. They performed Smoke on the Water & we had 3rd row floor tickets...it was one heck of a concert by both groups.

Okay Mac, I'm going to start the flush this week. I water twice per week and just did the water/feed two days ago. I am so excited that this is almost time to chop these gals! That sounds kind of mean.....LOL Sorry girls!

Okay, Jam...flush will start this week. :-)

I used to pop in a Deep Purple cd when I was traveling through downtown Chicago to keep me calm and level headed. LOL
Takes me back to some good times though....wish I could have seen them live in their prime time.

Forgot to mention, the trichs are looking slightly cloudy on most of the plants. I don't have time to get a pic up yet. Tonight after work.
