My light is at like 22" right now canna, with two 600 watt hps.....I put it where I achieve a canopy temp of around 75 degrees. I have a wall fan around ten feet away that blows the direction of the lights and moves ALL the air around the room. I have another 12" fan that oscillates between the lights and the plants....which lowers the temp right at the canopy and keeps the plants moving. I plan on my plants growing toward the light and stretching a little....they say that vegging with HPS will do that....and by the time they get where they are getting a heavier exposure, they will be bigger and more mature....able to handle the increased light intensity. I have two 600 watt HPS, equispaced in a 7 foot space.....that is 7 feet the long way. I am counting on 4 feet coverage...front to back......and like 7 feet lengthways. When I get the hydro going my plants should completely fill 4 feet by 7 and a half feet. Sea of green.

Thanks Mcloadie! I haven't been down to the grow this morning to see what the temp difference is. I am really jealous of that 70 degree mark on your thermometer. LOL
I really hope this HPS helps on that level, I know that the plant growth has slowed with this low 60's I was getting. As it stands it really does look like January before I will harvest at the correct timing on fattening those buds. Dang! This is going to be a killer winter that we haven't seen in a few years, I'm afraid. Right......just when I DON'T need it. LOL
I am moving the veggie area today, If I can get the time to spend down there. The room the clones are in is directly below an outdoor deck and there is no heat getting in there at all besides the CFL's. We'll see how it goes. I really need to keep this electric bill down, so I have to come up with a different plan than putting a heat source in there.
When this grow is finished, all of the plants in flower will be in one area and I won't have two different lighting areas to deal with on 12/12. That will be a big help!

Sure wish I could, but it is like 30 feet away and too many twists and turns and steel beams and water pipes to deal with. Part of the ceiling in the main room is also a drop ceiling that has absolutely no space to work with above it. The only thing that can make it in there is the spiders. LOL

Good luck! Is there ANY room adjacent to it...that has warmer air? You can suck air out of that room! Just tryin canna!!!

Thanks Mcloadie! Ya know....kind of makes sense that I'm having trouble with temps even more today...it's a real feel of -9 degrees F here in this cold azzed state! LOL
Got a great load of firewood finally delivered and this stuff is going to burn sweet! Unlike the last load that was not near seasoned and cut to burn.

Just out of curiosity could you pet your thermometer on the screen tonight, the buds will be few degrees warmer up there, you might be closer than you think?

I would love to come for dinner too! What I really want to know is are you available to do some extra housekeeping?
