Well, I answered my question via google on the watts etc. It's a High Pressure Sodium light @ 150 watts, 2000k color temp with 16000 lumens.
I still do not know if this takes a ballast or not. I'm confused. LOL CFL's are as far as I have ventured with lighting.

Yes you will need a ballast for that, and you can wire it into a mogul socket, plus you can get a digital ballast, and also run a metal halide lamp in the same fixture.

Okay, is there a wattage I should look for on the ballast? Match the bulb wattage? I know nothing about ballasts.

Yes, Canna match the ballast to the watts...you would need a 150w ballast to safely run that bulb.

I can't answer about the lumens and color temp though, but most bulbs with a bubble or dome I have seen are MH for veg? but like I said I am no bulb expert.

Ahhh....so this bulb isn't going to be great for flowering. I'll use it in the veg room then. Might get a little more heat going in there which is sorely needed right now. Supposed to get in the single digits overnight this week!

Just looked up the info on that bulb and it is indeed HPS...

I'm just basing whatever silliness I may type on what I gather from the pics and the general knowledge that whatever the breeder says is flower time usually being off by at least a week, lol. As to the new light, heck yeah, throw it into the mix...even use the flouros as supplemental light. A 400 watt hung a foot high for a day or two so they can get used to it should be safe. Then you can start lowering it to a more ideal heighth above the canopy. More light the better usually and your girls should love it.

Hey gang, a new grower with a slight problem...er opportunity. Had a plant hermie in with some girls only a week on 12/12. No big pistils showing, just some small hairs as he calls it. The hermied plant definitely opened the flowers exposing the pollen before he got it out of there. He isn't sure what to do with the girls in flower right now, cross his fingers and leave them there for a while or put them back in veg or what. How soon can he tell if the girls were pollinated? you can add your High Intensity Discharge light over your plants without any adjustment, just watch what the temperature at the plants. place your hand underneath the light bulb to the point you can not feel any heat from the light bulb and move it above your plants at that level, raise the light as your plants grow.

150 HP bulbs I have used (back when I had hair) had the ballast within the hood/reflector, kind of a bummer unless you need the xtra heat. The bulbs should be replaced, as they lose lumens over time.

Hi Trichomes, there is a ballast...but it's 30 feet in the air on a light pole. LOL this bulb was replacement bulb for that light pole which is now broken.
I want to use it indoors and I actually do need the extra heat in the basement right now. :thumb:
