Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg & More! CFL's - LED - HPS

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

And this is the leaf issue on one of the clones.
I think the soil mix is ready to start having nutes added. I'll be doing that tonight at 1/4 strength. I do let the pots dry out completely before watering. I have inspected the leaves under and over for bugs as well as the soil, no bugs. Anyone know what this might be?

Here's what I'm thinking is a possible issue based on very low humidity in the veggie room right now:
Toxicity
Young and newer growth developes chlorotic dark orange to dark rusty brown molting, first on young leaves then progressing to older leaves. Slow growth and loss of vigor. Toxicity is compounded by low humidity.

I do have a small humidifier that I will add to the room tonight too. I am burning wood for heat, which dries the air and it is getting colder by the day in my area.
Just looking for opinions and hoping someone else has had this leaf problem and knows what caused it.
I'm sure you already know this but I too have a wood burning stove that I use most of the time for heat and it definitely will dry out the air. Try adding a pot of water on top of your wood burner and it will greatly increase the moisture in the air. :thumb:

Guess I should have finished reading the post before I started typing. Guess adding a pot of water won't help much if it is outside... I'm sure your idea of the wet towels will help. I put cups of water in my box with the babies and it helps a bit too.

I could make a really large ice cube for a really large cocktail.......
Thanks for the thoughts. :thumb:

Well, I had to do it. I stole 3 small popcorn buds this morning from a Master Kush. I decided to take the opportunity for a couple of pics too...of course. :slide:

I know they aren't near ready for actual harvesting. The trichs are still completely clear too, but I really wanted to test em' out. LOL
I have them trimmed and drying in a paper towel over a register vent. We'll see how it goes. :-)

I have also decided no more pictures with the cell phone. The pixellation is way too bad, I think it's only a 5MP camera on this HTC EVO.

Well, it's time for me to learn about trimming/drying/curing. First up, trimming. I found a video by Jorge Cervantes (of course), right around 5 minutes into the video he starts to show the trimming process.
There are 3 dudes that appear regularly in his videos, they have potty mouths...just ignore them.

Also, at the end of this one he begins to make hash. You will have to click on the next video top left to see the rest of the hash process. ;-)

I would not strip the fan leaves from your plants before you harvest, the fan leaves are needed to supply the plants with nutrients when they are flushed. It is very fast to remove the fan leaves as you harvest branches. If you are supplementing calcium and magnesium you should discontinue it 3 weeks prior to harvest.

Thanks KJC, I actually forgot to mix the cal/mag in the feed today...so that worked out perfect. LOL
Thanks for the tips on the fan leaves too.
Have a great weekend! :thumb:

For those of you not subscribed to my Pollination thread, I just have to post one of the recent pics here. I think this came out awesome for being a tiny tiny seed:

Oh it definitely works and they are just beautiful. Awesome job!!!:high-five::bravo:
Thanks Dennise. Glad you enjoyed it. :-)

Love the Nirvana in the background ...that seed pic is a beauty as well.:thumb:
Hey Heady! Thanks! I probably should have lowered the volume on the music. I like the volume up when I'm working down there. LOL That first video is pretty dizzying, and I forgot to edit out the first half of it. Ah well.....first time for everything. They will get better as I go.....I hope.:biglaugh:

KingJohnC posted a link to a nice little program to remove the exif data from pictures if you are concerned about that. Here's the post:

Re: Plushberry Grow - Search for a New Go to Gal

you can use a program named Easy Exif Delete to remove the exif data from your photographs if you first upload them to your computer. I use Easy Exif Delete to remove the exif data and then Photoscape to add text to my photographs.

I usually pull my plants out a day or so before harvest and trim as many leaves off at the stem as I can. I think you'll find come chop and trim/manicure time it will make life infinately easier. If you're one of the people who likes doing a "total darkness" phase before harvest, do it immediately prior to that. Oh and btw, you've really done a heck of a job for a first grow, 'specially under compact flouros. My sixth sense says you're probably hoping to harvest around Christmas time. Try not to be impatient considering how well you've done here as my sixth sense says it'll prob take to New Year's.

Hey Jamthe3, good to see you. I will be patient. I'm assuming that your reasoning is because the process is slower with CFL's?
Which leads to a question, I have a 400W HPS unit probably arriving today. Would it confuse the plants or cause any issues if I put that in place of the second grow area CFL's, and would it speed things up a bit for those two plants? I can't wait to get that light going, and I really need the CFL fixture in the veggie room right now.

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

I need some help on a bulb question. I was given this bulb to replace one in a city type light pole fixture with a built in ballast that used to light an area near my barn. The ballast is bad in the fixture, so I want to use this bulb in the grow IF I can.
What kind of bulb is this, HID/HPS? How many watts?
Here is the info stamped on the bulb:
Howard Lighting
LU150/55 S55
Hg R
0611
It's about 9" long.

What kind of ballast would I need and what size fixture to screw it in to?

I could not locate anything on the internet, maybe because I don't know if I'm looking for HID or HPS or whatever else. LOL
Thanks if anyone can help!
BTW, I would love to look at the information on the actual lamp housing outside...but It's about 30 feet in the air on a long arm. And last I saw there was a nice big hornets nest built in there where the outer glass had cracked from a snow plow hitting the pole. Grrrrrr......
