Welcome danklover79! I tried and tried to find those elusive pipe cleaners in my area and it seems they just don't carry them around here. Most of the hardware stores here have "kids" working them, and you should see the look on their faces when I ask for pipe cleaners. :hmmm: LOL I nailed a couple of them who thought I was a dumb blonde....I asked them for a left handed hammer. They actually went to look for one! :rofl: ..... and then I quietly leave, giggling to myself on who is really the "dumb" one.
I'll find some pipe cleaners soon, I'm sure. In the meantime this wire is working great. I'm done LST'ing for now, so plenty of time to look for supplies before the next grow.

That's just funny stuff, and they deserved what you dished out, lol. I buy my pipe cleaners at wally world, and they have a website you could order them from, if you don't have one in your area.

Pistils 99.7865% female! yes I had slippers on, super comfy one's too. It was very early though, don't worry. I am up by 6am at the latest ;)

CVS and Walgreens have them in the tobacco section behind the registers. Training and quickie cleaning of the one hitter, win win!

Question on watering and nute feeding.
I started with 1/4 strength GH nute program on my last watering, 3 days ago. Should I give them the nutes every time I water, or every other time? I am still seeing a slight light green to yellowish on the leaves, haven't checked this morning yet. I took off all of the yellowed leaves during the work yesterday on LST.
I should water today as they were looking a bit droopy yesterday and the pots feel dry.

Random thought for the day:
A friend of mine gets mad when I kill crawly creatures in my house.
Bugs and critters don't invite me into their domiciles, and if they could kill me for being there...they certainly would! So why should I not do the same when they come into my home??

Remember in soil it takes a little for the plant to metabolize what you fed. so you wont notice any changes really overnight.

What kind of water are you using?

This is a GDP you can see the balls once your plants are a little bit older (maybe a day or two you can see 'em before they pop)

Just keep an eye on them ladies and you can always up the dose if you feel they need more but once you give too much it is not reversible.

Less is more remember this.

I've been DIY'ing this morning. I know...I know....can everyone say {{{GROAN}}}
Anyway, I've always wanted one of those cool lil' lighted herb shelving units. Soooo, I finally made my own. Been planning this for weeks and haven't got around to it yet.
I had a heavy duty plastic shelving unit in the garage, I drilled some holes in the sides of the shelves so I could run wire or chain through them to hang the two fluorescent fixtures to them. They are double bulb fixtures.
That's it!

This was actually a taller shelf unit, I removed one shelf to fit in the space. Later on I may move this and make use of the other shelf with another light fixture.

Okay, I got that. But....should I go ahead and feed them the 1/4 strength nutes with each watering unless I see a problem, or should I use just plain water every other time. I'm thinking they were telling me they needed nutes with the yellowing, so I"m leaning toward another nute feed?

Hey Rainstacks, check out this one. I did this by putting my HTC EVO with zoom maxed in front of the led loupe:

I was going to take a couple of pics of a spider in the sink downstairs....but the darned thing was bigger than the loupe! Kitty didn't even want to mess with that one!

it's the only one of 8 plants that have a positive male sign...if that's a male sign. LOL I have 3 confirmed females, and two possibles from very early signs. Still two to show anything at all.:)

I have been vegging these plants for going on 7 weeks now. Does it normally take that long for them to show sex? I feel like I'm way over the time frame I needed for vegging, but because it's going into SCRoG is why I waited to see sex.
When I FINALLY get them to the SCRoG set up, should I flip them to 12/12 right away?
Oh....I'm SO new at this!:hmmmm:

And I have verification on ...two more females!! WOOT WOOT!:yahoo:
There are only two left to determine and one of them looks like it's male. Little bitty "ball" starting on either sides of the stem. We'll see in a couple of days.
I made room for 5 plants in the SCRoG set up, and it looks like 5 it will be! I couldn't be happier with 5 of 8 plants being female. Yey!
The 5 girls are:
WW5,WW4,WW2,MK1,MK4

MK3 is male for sure
MK2 possible male
WW1 no determination as yet

And of course, the mutant was/is WW3
