Yeah, he thinks he's being stealthy and "anonymous" apparently. But the whispering in his early videos was just too much!
He does share good info....if you can take watching him. :laughtwo:

Okay, I guess I'll leave the clones to do their work with my help....I'm "rooting" for them.:rofl:

That's good to know shottafire! I will be sure not to do that. :-) I don't have HID's.....yet. LOL I took these in a different room with some low fluorescent ceiling lighting. :thanks:

In a plain ol' glass of water, sheesh! I'm going to try that on one final plant that I want to clone. We'll see if it works for me too.
That LST is awesome! You gonna put some lights on that cross at Christmas time? What a great design, and so neat and organized your grow is. :thumb:
Next grow, I'm going to start my LST much earlier. I will let the seedlings stretch a bunch first, like Ricorico does, so I have something to work with to train them in different directions. It is a lot of fun watching how it works out.

Hey Canna...IMHO I would leave the cap on for a few days...the cuttings need high humidity until they have developed roots...but removing the cap in a few days (while keeping an eye on them for wilting) should b a good way to introduce them to a lower humidity without just taking the dome off and creating a drastic change for them

I haven't used the 2 litre cloning method (now I use a tupaware container and my girlfriends flip flops to clone LOL) but both the cloners I had before had humidity domes with vents in the top to slowly reintroduce the cutting to a lower humidity

Ive used the cup of water method for cloning before too and it works, just takes a little longer in my experience. I actually have a cutting soaking in our Beta Fish bowl now lol just cuz I wanted to show my wife its an option. I liked Rapid Rooters before I got the cloners I have now which I bought because my basement where I used to live wasnt warm enough for cloning in domes.

Canna,

I use mostly plain hard well water (not my .003ppm rain barrel water) I did add 1 or 2 drops of Big Bloom (0.01 - 0.3 - 0.7). I also change the water daily or every other day as needed. I think it may take a little longer but the results are the same.

For over 40 years I have started every houseplant I have ever grown like this. My kitchen windowsill is always full of cuttings in good old h2o. The wife is now taking cuttings everywhere we go and rooting them in cups of water outdoors. Good thing I got a few acres of land...Lol She was never a gardener but her interest had grow considerably over the last year and I must say she is doing very well.

So, is there a specific number of nodes needed in general for a plant to begin showing sex.... or is it just a random "grow pistils WHERE I want, WHEN I want" like some mushrooms deciding their grow area? LOL
I have one plant that sure looks like it's early flower to me, how many leaves are supposed to grow out of one tip? There's a LOT of them, if they are tiny leaves.
I wish I could call one of you ppls over to my grow to take a look. :laughtwo:

That post was certainly special. I learn so much from DP, it is hard to pack it all in my tired little brain. :)

It is very strain dependent as to when plants show sex. Even on my first grow, one of the plants never even showed pre-flowers, it just went for the whole shabang (shredder). I believe most plants will show sex after 4 weeks of veg growth. But this does not count time as a seedling or clone. But this may be under optimal conditions, I am not sure. When you flip to 12/12 most plants show within a week or two as I understand it. When you start seeing alternating fan leaves/nodes, this is also a sign of sexual maturity. Stress may also trigger flowering (and hermaphroditsm). I am sort of going off memory, and things may certainly be different indoor etc. So take everything I said with a grain of salt!

Your plants look lovely, just be patient with them. The more mass they put on both in veg growth, and in root structure, the more you will yield in the end too :)
