Ruh Roh....Is it time for Nutes? These couple of leaves are on one plant, dappled yellow spots and brown spots. I'd like to jump on this if you all recognize that it does need nutes started or if it's something else. I'll look through DonPauls' plant problems thread this morning too.

What do you have for nutrients?

It looks to be a little hungry for some calcium and some nitrogen.

what week are you at and have you fed the plant yet?

Hi Shottafire!
I have the general hydroponics 3 part series. I have not fed the plants at all up to now, the soil mix was good for 2 to 3 weeks and it has certainly been all of that. Since transplanting to bigger pots, I'm sure it's been at least 3 weeks.
I was expecting to start nutes/feeding anytime now.
I did water this morning, they were drooping slightly. I've been watering every 3 days and it's been working great. I think it's time for the nute schedule. Was thinking starting with 1/4 strength nute mixture on the next watering?
Whatcha' think?

Hi Canna :) I think what Shotta said was spot on (naturally). I would actually start the nutes off even weaker if you can. Some strains are way more sensitive to nutes than others. It will just take time to dial things in. Imho less is more in this case, because you can always work your way up. Are you going to foliar feed as well at some point?

I started things off at 1/4 strength and still had problems, but with Fox Farms nutes, not GH. I like them, now that I have a feel for them though. I am using GH floralicious plus, I think it is :)

Okay, maybe I will start a light first nute mix at about 1/8th strength. I have a plant to practice on.....no I never threw the mutant out.:laughtwo: I did a bunch of defol on it and transplanted. Still waiting to see if the new leaves straightened up.
Okay, I had to look up foliar feed, LOL. You mean spraying the leaves with something, right? If so, I hadn't really thought of doing that.
I'm not at home, so can't read you the descriptions of my GH bottles.

What kind of medium are you growing in Canna? I sort of looked back in your journal to see, but grew weary of it... In the last two weeks I've watered/fed three times - 1/4 strength, 1/2 strength, and yesterday 3/4 strength. I don't see any ill effects... I'm in five gallon pots with a lean mix though.

I expect you could do 1/4 strength at this point.

Just as a coincidence some guy walks in to where I work today and sold me a 16 oz bottle of
"Mayan Microzyme" for $20.00. Any of you use this stuff, if so what do you think of it?

Looks to be a good product. There is a few ways you can use it.

It is a bacterial complex and it has azos which is a nitrogen fixing bacteria.

I cant tell you how to use it though since i never have.

The ticket on the bottle was $55.00 and I priced them on ebay with free shipping at just under $39.00, so I figure I got it at half price.

I know that....I have the same trouble with all of the journals here. I look for one thing and get so caught up in everything else I read that I fergit what I wuz lookin' fer. I was funnin' ya. :grinjoint:
I find that search thread feature to be very helpful though!

Yepper Rain, it took me a while to find it too. ;-)

So, this morning I went down and gave the plants all some Cal/Mag solution to see if that helps. I will be mixing up the starting nutes today too so I will have it ready for the next watering.
The plants look good other than the yellowing of a few leaves, so hopefully they won't suffer too bad between now and then.
I did some work on the LST, I sure hope daily LST work isn't stressing these plants into hermies!
I"ll post some pics in a bit. I am experiencing tons of interruptions to my morning, I sure hope I can get some time to edit pics.

Okay, here's some pics from this morning. So far all of the plants seem to be right around the same height with the LST I've been doing, so it will make it much more level when they go to the SCROG.
