Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg & More! CFL's - LED - HPS

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

looks like you got plenty of bud to keep you going for a while, nice work buddy.

just remember the buds will draw moisture out of each other when their in the jars, ive often had to take my bud out for an hour or 2 as they felt moist after being in the jar for a day or 2, once i was past the 2nd or 3rd day i could just burp the jars, but the first few days i found the buds in the bottom of the jars would build up with moisture and it did cause me some bud rot a while back in one jar, so now for the first couple of days in the jar ill tip the buds out of each jar so they can breath for 30min to 2 hours depending on how moist they fell then ill put them back in, it all depends how dry the buds are when you put them in jars.

beans look great, dont worry about the green ones they should still be viable, ive had some tiny green seeds pop out in the past and even those where still viable, my mistake was not letting the seeds rest for a month or more after harvest,

Anything green sprinkled on that goat cheese Jay?
I'm munching on Smoked Gouda wrapped in thin hard salami slices until dinner. LOL

I'm jealous :)...I wrapped provolone in hard salami this morning for.breakfast :)

DP just gave some great advice...closed jars will draw moisture from center of the bud...then I open the lids until the outside of the bud feels dry and then seal them up up again...you probably already know this though...I'm very impressed...great job Canna :)

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

its pretty amazing how quick the moisture level increases even over a short time, after the drying period i put the buds in the jars but leave the lids off for a day or 2, even with the lids off and the buds touching each other the moisture level still rises, i guess it also depends on how humid the air is where you live, this would of course slow everything down. at some point ill try them humidity packs they use for electronics and see how they affect the cure process, they should help maintain the correct levels and stop it getting to high

:thanks: DP! I have been letting the buds rest a bit with the lids off just to be sure there's no moisture retention going on. Seems to be working fine. Good Information! I am keeping the seeds in a dark corner of the refrigerator in a small plastic baggy. I'll open it now and then to make sure there is no moisture retention going on there too. Can't wait to try to grow a couple of these puppies!

We are certainly cheese lovers eh? LOL

Well, thank ye sir. I kinda already knew it, but will be making sure those lids are off a bit longer now. ;-)

So awesome Canna!...tons of full jars and tons of seeds!
You done well :bravo:
Take it from me be careful eating those cookies :)
You deserve some reps...as soon as I find them I'll send them your way....I think I left them under a block of garlic and herb goat cheese :)
:thanks: I am so happy with the number of seeds I got from that little bit of pollen. I was thinking maybe 30 or so by looking at the bud as it matured. But there were LOTS hiding inside near the stem.
And, yeah....I've had the cookies before. LOL

Hey DP,
I am burning wood for heat so my home humidity level is very low. I'm looking at 25% right now. I put the buds in the same room with the bubble cloner in hopes that the humidity level will be fair. I don't see any signs of too dry or too damp, so I guess it's working okay.
I will keep a close watch though. ;-)

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

sounds like you got good conditions, my RH can be pretty high at times but its due to where i live so my drying process and cure process is often dragged out a bit.

ill be interested in seeing how the fridge storage method works out for you, i know its suppose to be the best method but humidity has always been a concern as i know cans of pop get condensation one when i take them out the fridge so ive always worried about humidity using that method, i know throwing some rice in with pollen removes any moisture and keeps the pollen viable but wasnt sure if it was a good method with seeds or not in case it dried them out to much. i dont think it would hurt but i wouldnt try it unless i came across some info on using rice alongside seeds for long term storage.

i guess i could drop herbie a msg and see what temps etc he recomends, i know the seed banks give their seeds a certain shelf life before they send them back as unsold or maybe they use these are free seed from time to time if the breeder agrees, either way ive never had problems with seeds unless its been a genetic problem after they have sprouted

Thanks again DP,
if you hear anything from herbie's on methods and temps, do let us know. ;-)

:thanks: Danklover! Good thing there's trim, cuz waiting for bud to properly dry and cure would drive me crazy without something to tide me over. :)

Really cool stuff Canna!

That butter looks delicious!

Can't wait to see those seeds pop! Congrats:)

Okay, I have flipped the clones to 12/12 this morning. I have 4 under the 400w HPS and two under CFL's until I get another HPS unit.
The LED panels are being used for revegging and vegging the new clones when they are ready.

I'm not really sure whether to start a new journal for the new flowering plants or not. I guess I'll have lots of time to think on that today. The severe weather here forced the boss to tell me to stay home. Thank god, those roads and the white outs are very bad!

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow White Widow-Master Kush Reveg and More! CFL's/LED/HPS

I picked up a bag of sewing supplies at an Auction one day a few years ago and I dug it out today looking for something. I ran into this bag of jewelry designer pins for making brooches and things. I put them to use on my cannabags for tie downs to aid my LST'ing instead of the wire into the pots. They work perfectly. And it dawned on me that they are really nothing more than fancy safety pins. So, if you have safety pins hanging around......put them to use. LOL

So I spent an hour or so redoing my LST, here's the before and after:

The plants are much more even now. yey!
