Hi PinkyGreen! They are not from Smoke Sarah, although I do plan to order from there this spring. These are inexpensive fleabay panels that I"m going to play with in the meantime. They are 1' x 1' panels and came in packs of two for a little over $60.00 with a 2 year warranty.
I won't take anything away from our sponsor, they are quality materials. I just can't swing the cost right now while I'm in the learning process.

I decided to leave the buds to dry on the dehydrator trays because it seems to be working just fine. I turned the buds over yesterday, and they are drying well with no sticking. I put them in an unfinished back bathroom where there is a register vent right behind the table.
The trimmings are in a cardboard box cover and I mix it up a few times a day to get them evenly dried. How long should I let them dry before I put into jars?

And here's an update on the clones, they are starting to sprout small roots. I decided they needed some humidity so I got a cake plate top and it fit perfectly.

They can be jarred after the large stems snap. Which is usually the day after they smell the strongest. The green house seed company suggest curing in a paper bag.

I usually make iso hash oil outa them in one batch and another batch the lesser leavesdepending on my mood and health at the time of harvest; and make bubble hash outa the better trimmings.

You can buy a big box of wide mouth mason jars w/lids at Walmart for like 10 bucks, they come in very handy for a variety of purposes. Just check after 3 or 4 days to make sure they're not drying out to fast. I'm assuming since you've got them in the racks that you pretty much cut off all the large stems already so might find it hard to see the "snap" most people talk about when hanging to dry. Just give a gentle squeeze of a couple buds and watch to see if they sponge back out and notice the smell at the same time. Better to jar before ready than after dried to fast imho as its fairly easy (if meticulous) to control the humidity once they're jarred to finish the drying if neccessary. My kid doesn't like the smell of the brown paper bags so I cure in Mason jars.

Thanks for the info on the stems. I did save them, so I might give the oil a try.
I think Because I already have the jars I will go ahead and use the jar method. I have buds from each plant with stems on them so I can feel for the snap. Two days drying and they are feeling quite light already. LOL
I am going to move them away from the register vent and close that vent off too, so they don't dry too fast.

I just got caught up, learned a lot as always, and just loved your pics. The water drop pics were very creative :)

It is just amazing how lovely your buds turned out. I am really proud of you! Like Shotta said, just incredible that this was your first grow.

I don't think you need the humidity dome for the cuttings in the cloner. If the leaves are droopy, I would cut some off. The plant may just be having a hard time maintaining the osmotic pressure without roots maybe?

I can't wait to hear a smoke report :thumb:

:thanks: My good friend! I did take the glass dome off, per your suggestion. I do have roots starting, so I guess it's not needed at all. :-)

nice work on the harvest my friend, should give you plenty to smoke for a while,
i totally agree with the hps over cfls but to be fair cfls work and you will grow bud, problem is you need around the same amount of watts to get even close to what a hps can do, i think cfls should be used for seedlings/clones and first couple weeks of veg due to the very tight node spacing cfls give.

you can cure your bud in anything, i was given a load of old mason jars but i also use them plastic tupperware type tubs that seal air tight, their the ones you see on the shopping channels where they put a mobile phone in side and stick the tub under water, as long as its air tight then it will cure,

not tried paper bag method so cant comment, the main problem with jars and air tight tubs is if the bud is not dry enough then within 24 hours it can turn mouldy, so what i do is let the bud hang dry or dry on racks, then when the bud feels dry and the stem is able to snap instead of bend i then put the buds into jars but leave the lid off, 12 hours later i tip the buds out and you can tell the moisture has raised as the buds feel moist again, so i let them stand again on racks on on paper until dry and repeat this process once or twice depeding on results, once its stays dry enough with the lids off i then put the lids on and open 2 or 3 times a day and tip the buds out again and check moisture, if its moist leave the buds out if its ok they can go back in, once the moisture is stable you can then just burp the jars but i still tip the buds out every other day to stop them sticking together for at least the first week then put them back in,

I decided I wanted to go ahead and grind some trim up. I didn't want to wait until it was completely crispy dry, because I don't want this batch to be flour ground. I found an unused small Cuisinart coffee grinder and it is now my dedicated weed grinder. ;-)
I ground up about half the trim and then put it in a pan to place with the buds to dry out some more. Nice coarse texture is what I wanted.
I will stir it around a few times a day to get it evenly dried. If I need it finer later I can always throw some back into the grinder.
