You are so encouraging Jay! For a first trim job, I didn't think it was too bad. LOL I chopped one more girl, but won't be doing the trim until the morning. There is one hellacious bud on that one compared to what I've trimmed up so far.
You're darned right it feels good to complete it!! Seemed like forever. :high-five:

I got some LED lights in yesterday, but haven't had time to hook them up. This next grow will be far better on yield and bud size, IMO with using the HPS and possibly the LED's. The LED's are not the high end for sure. Might be better for Vegging. We'll see how they go. Either way, it's going to save me in electric use!

I trim all weed differently with different strains, I have heard of weed producing more than 20% of wet weight.....but I have never seen it come about. To get higher than 20% finished product the buds would have to be super dense. I don't weigh wet weed cuz it only depresses me when the final weights come in. I can look at the density of a plant.........the buds.......in person, and I could give you a pretty accurate estimate. But I have seen strain after strain and pound after pound...literally thousands of pounds.

Not a bad harvest on the MK Canna, a lot of growers don't even get that much from a plant, and you'll be able to manipulate yield more with experience.

I didn't mean to sound like it depressed me at all. LOL I thoroughly expect to lose a lot of the weight when it's dried. Weighing it wet is only helping me to understand what I can expect in comparison of wet to dry. Won't depress me a bit if there is a major difference. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Thanks Danklover. I'm very happy with completing the grow with no major problems and getting a harvest! It's my first and I'm just tickled pink that it went well. I learned a lot and next grow those changes should improve my outcome very much. :slide:

Genetics and genetic potential, you will never get more than the plant is genetically able to produce. The ideal scenario is to breed heavy yielders with the potent lower yielding strains. My most potent strains have been lower yielders...I call them novelty strains....great weed...low yield. I have never seen a high yielder that could compare in quality to some of the lower yielders. You want to know what's up, talk to a commercial grower...he has chosen strains that will yield the highest, while having acceptable quality. While you strive to achieve genetic potential you will find strains that meet your specific needs...be that super high quality, super high yield , or somewhere in the middle.

Weighing wet would be a good exercise to understand the weight loss in comparison to size and density of the product. I have a friend...a grower...just met em, and I gave em a coupla mains off my last grow..they were amazed at the density and said they were gonna show it off today to their friends....(growers). I hope at some point to get a group that I can address at some point...then go from farm to farm and do individual consultations.

Good Morning (or afternoon) everyone. "foraging" on here...one more completed. This is White Widow 4. Wet bud weight was 4.6 oz. This one did have several popcorn buds on it. I have them gathered in the corner of the tray.

I've chopped the final 3 plants. I am leaving the pollinated branch under the CFL's for another few days, maybe a week. Just be sure the majority of the seeds have matured.
