Only wished I had seen the powdered sugar incident, I am sure while a real pain to clean up, was a real hoot to watch from the perspective on not having to clean it up :laughtwo:

Get ready, Sis, for the first snow this season over the weekend...I hope that it is gentle and beautiful to kick off the season...my house is starting to smell alive with flowering plants, 5 different strains, oh, aren't I posh.....they will all peak at separate times, which won't stress me out and promote a harvest over time along with a perpetual....I'm great with that...it's all grand....

The powdered sugar "incident" did not end with something as simple as sugar dust all over the stairs and the pantry, unfortunately.
The REST of the story involved a Shop Vac unit, a cat and power cord....cat trips on power cord...causes shop vac to tilt...down the stairs...top comes off...it's on my back and I can't turn around....a cloud of powdered sugar (literally) was blown through the whole house before I could find the off switch....

It was a Sam's Club size bag of sugar...5 lbs? 10 lbs? I can't remember....

It's funny now

The video was great! Thanks for taking the time. I would do the same but somehow a "tour" of 2x4 tents doesn't seem as exciting as your flower room. No wonder you are a happy "chatty Kathy" when you have your morning coffee. I would be too if I could have a too sweet flower room under a hidden trap door to hang out in with my girls. Color me jealous!

And powdered sugar incident? A pound went down that hole and exploded? Wow, what a mess that must have been. Too bad that isn't on the galaxy!

SweetSue: I am going to see if I can find that on Greytail's journals and read up. I have topped before but never found it did any more side by side with LST plants or FIMs so I eventually just kept with the LST business. But I have always felt like I was missing something! Thanks!

What lovely indoor spaces you have, complete with a modeling stage. It's better than that multi-color row in the garage. :)

Here's the idea I got from PeeJay's porta-scrog. I didn't have any squares of fencing small enough to do this, but I wanted to do it at some point. This is the reason I'm trying to spread out one of the Top Gal clones flatter and in even directions with the branches.

Inside that king size mattress unit were several strips of this plastic webbing. It's flexible as all heck, but it's also very strong:

So, I cut down a tomato cage and put a square of that webbing on top of it, and cut several 1.5" or so squares in it to be able to train the stems through as they grow out. I can cut more squares out as needed while the plant shoots new stems and grows out.
I'm thinking I need to make one a little wider, the edges can be reinforced by weaving in some wooden skewers.

Do you think it will work?

Yepper, it's all good. I actually had an intro to the first snow a few days ago, so I'm now ready in the brain for it. LOL
We're supposed to get 4-8" between Friday and Saturday, but it won't stay around long. The ground is still too warm. :)
Keep on keepin' that stress away Sis, stress is a killer.

Thanks so much for the info on mixing those strains. I will definitely take your advice on that.
I have Red Poison on my list as well.

I contacted HERBIE's about having a log-in and Wish list that would stay there for the next log-in. He responded saying he's going to talk to his web developers about it and see what it would take to get that implemented for the site.
I hope they can do it, I keep losing my text file for "wish list". LOL

I think that stuff from the mattress is less than ideal screen material, Canna... It lacks rigidity and the more you cut it to open up holes the more it's structural integrity will diminish.

I appreciate the heads up! I was down in the basement a few minutes ago and found something that might work better, much more rigid! All I need to do is find my bolt cutters. ;-)
I tried to pull a couple branches from a different plant through that screen, and it is not ideal as you said. That's what the drawing board is for. LOL

On a different note, while I was contemplating this in the grow room over a cuppa, I decided to take the plunge and cut the reveg tops off the THC Bomb. My hope is that the plant will now put all of it's concentration into the original buds...and I won't have those tops hitting the light soon. :)
The tops are in plugs to see if I can root them.

You want something with holes ~ 2" x 2" so you don't damage growth when you move things around.

Okay, I think the new idea should work then. I'll post a pic when I get that done tomorrow. I might do more than one plant with this, still trying to decide.
I need to get the defective Smart Grow light down, take it apart and see if I can fix whatever the problem is. That will decide for me on what to do on the perpetual grow.
I haven't heard back from them on a return shipping label or outright purchase at a discounted price, So I will just go ahead and try to fix it in the interim.
The replacement light is doing wonderful, so I think it was just a random issue with the light. Chit happens. LOL Might have dropped during shipping or before boxing it up. Who knows....

Okay.. my Porta-Scrog mentor, I think this is going to work on the first run of the perpetual. This is the hard plastic cage that was on the box fan that I made the housing for the Budmaster XG's with.
Good and sturdy hard plastic!
Until I can get some fencing stuff like you are using, maybe next run.

All I need to do is snip off some of the residuals left over from cutting, so I don't damage any stems with them. The holes are about the size you suggested, and I love that center hole where the manufacturer name was for peeking in and watering. LOL

Had to laugh right out loud Canna. I have a piece of that in my hall running back to the kitchen. Just yesterday I looked at it and thought, "I wonder, if I clipped some of those out to open it up......?"

Honestly, it isn't easy to find good screen material. I have pulled crap out of curb-side rubbish and dragged it home etc... It's nearly impossible to find something with good sized holes. That's why I finally decided to spring for a roll of the fencing. I wish you lived close enough that I could give you a bunch!
