CannabisMeds' CBD Grow - Pennywise - Dawgfather - Rawdawg - Soil - LED + CFL 2013-14

Re: CannabisMeds' CBD Grow - Pennywise - Dawgfather - Rawdawg - Soil - LED + CFL 2013

That tent is filling up quickly. Soon you won't be able to see the floor at all. :high-five:

Love how quick those clones rooted. Seems those pucks are sound.

Loving the soil mix info, too.

Peejay is making his own mixes, too, with the aim of not feeding liquid nutrients. His results are impressive so far. The idea of only having to water throughout a grow really appeals to me - so convenient. Someday when this mysterious curse of laziness is lifted, I might do some venturing into researching/making a super soil mix of my own. :)

I may just do it. Does this mean I have to wear makeup and get my hair did?

What's make up? I haven't even had a hair cut in 4 years. I do pull it back from time to time if that is what you mean by getting your hair done...lol.......:circle-of-love:

Re: CannabisMeds' CBD Grow - Pennywise - Dawgfather - Rawdawg - Soil - LED + CFL 2013

There's a saying in the greenhouse industry that the customer loves their plants to death! I've been reading many blogs, websites, strain reviews, grow journals, youtube videos, Jorge Cervantes, Mr. Green, etc. Wow, I am intrigued by the level of detail paid to everything when growing canna. Before I discovered this whole Internet world of growing and discussion, I grew out nine plants. I used 1 part each of peat moss, finished, organically made compost which was inoculated with mycorrhizae (ENDO/ECTO even though pot doesn't use both) and decomposed granite sand. These plants never got taller than 16 inches and I harvested half pound. I forgot to mention that when I prepped the soil for containers grown outdoors in summer, I added in a large handful of Medina Soil Food which is their pelletized certified organic fertilizer. You can add dry molasses if you want, but the compost levels off the pH and iron, along with other nutrients are more available. That is not too terribly complicated. All I did was water the plants and if I saw a deficiency, I addressed it. I had no deficiencies.

Well, if Super Soil is done right, you really don't need to add nutes at all during your grow. You might give them some molasses occasionally, and you could even give them some tea a few times, but mostly just watering them from start to finish. This is what Super Soil is all about!

If you're interested, just search for TGA's Super Soil and you'll see his recipe on a variety of sites, and I'm sure it's on 420 somewhere. I'm sure there are other user's here that are mixing up close to his recipe.

This is why I was so impressed by TGA's commercial product, which is basically his recipe prepackaged. But it's quite easy to just do it on your own!

As promised, here's the Blue Cheese clone, which is officially in the tent now. There is barely room in there, so I figured I'll try to squeeze her in now.

She's grown quite a bit in a short time. She isn't a very dense, leafy plant, but it will be interesting to see how she performs in flower.

Here she is on the day I planted her, Jan 29th, in the bigger pot ( which is about 5 gallons, I think ) Some of her soil is recycled.

So, she's grown quite a bit in about 2 weeks! Now she needs to shift into flowering mode. She'll end up being almost two weeks behind the others, in the flower cycle. She's way behind in terms of veg. She didn't get much veg time at all...

And I don't really care about how big she gets or how much she produces really, to be honest. I just didn't want to waste the clones I made from the original. I never got to flower that one out and I really want to see what she's like. She will, however, not be cloned out again after this. I just don't have room for her with my current allotment of plants, space and future plans.

I know how that is. I've been thinking about culling the smallest two clones I have going for these same reasons.

I just need to make it over this current harvest hump, and I'm sure my plans will fall into place.

Have some rum punch and strawberry reps (hint hint) ;)

Hmm,, Dres, is that a fav movie hint? Or are you just drinking rum punch and strawberries? ;)

Ok, so I have this idea. Maybe I'll try to make this, but let me know what you think of it.

So, plants growing against walls can be a problem, because leaves transpire and it can cause mold or mildew issues. So I was thinking, what if there was a tight double-screened air-gap layer between the plant and the wall/tent? Enough air could circulate so that any moisture would immediately evaporate, thus solving the leaves growing up against the wall/tent issue. Thoughts?

"Rum punch, quite satisfactory."

Re: CannabisMeds' CBD Grow - Pennywise - Dawgfather - Rawdawg - Soil - LED + CFL 2013

So I've got about 7 of the clones transplanted. I moved them out and under the LED light now. However, I'm not really sure yet if they like the light close or further away at this point. Trying to find the sweet spot. I think they are busy trying to build a root system. They all look healthy enough, except one of the smaller ones is pretty sad. They aren't perky yet. This is the first time I've done clones with no CFL at all, so I'm trying to find the sweet spot with the light. It's also a bit cool in there.

Anyway, hopefully they all build out a nice root system and start growing nicely over the next week.

I watered the two biggest tent gals last night with just water. The other two in there will get just water today. I wanted to give them some clean water before I feed them any bloom nutes. I'm about a week behind on that I think. They are now pushing pistils pretty good, although you still need to really look closely to see them.

The Blue Cheese experiment is doing well in the tent! It has grown quite a bit already and I think it might even stretch to catch up with the others. Not in volume, but in height. It's more of a stemmy strain. Next weekend I'll be dropping down to 11.5 hours of light. I will continue on a DLS for this flowering.

I also did some very minimal defol on the very bottom of the plants, where there was some leaves hanging down onto the soil, or dying, or just really old. I will probably clean up some more of the smaller growth on the very bottom of the plants again in a few weeks. They are just getting started here and still have a long way to go. I have no idea what to expect out of these gals.

Right now though, I'm mostly focused on these clones and making sure they get what they need. The tent is on auto-pilot for another week after tonight.
