Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

I often use a potato ricer with a man's linen hankie to press out the oil. The potato ricer has a long handle so I can get more leverage. If I have a lot to press, I use an herb press with a hankie. It is very much like a cheese press, only smaller.

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

I just spent the night watching a new program (3 episodes so far) called 'Weediquette'. This is on Comcast high def channel 805 and On Demand. It's also called channel H2. The first episode was about people in Colorado and California using "hyper-potent Marijuana oil to treat their children's life threatening cancers". The second deals with Vets and treating PTSD with CCO. The third chronicles the war on drugs as it pertains to Pot.

If you are a Vet, the second episode will make you cry, but it is still very worth watching anyway!

And if you are a Vet with PTSD.....God Bless You.....your life depends on watching this program!

Over the top again, John ???

NO. I had combat related PTSD for 30 years without knowing it had a name, and, I'm sure, if it were not for pot and self medicating....you wouldn't be reading this now because I'd be dead of something else self administered (bam!). Just like the 22 Veterans that will kill themselves TODAY.

I hope y'all can find and watch this 'Weediquette' program, it has some very up to date info (and some a couple of years old).

I use a homemade cheese press. It works great for getting all the good stuff out for cannabutter and such. :)

I'm going to go through my "On Demand" list and see if it's there. Maybe it's even on Youtube by now. Thanks Johnny!:circle-of-love:

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

Someone asked me today about my glycerin. so I took a pic. I have been agitating it a lot...but less than a week and it is looking nice.

GlycerinGreen2.JPG

A person I have been helping dropped a link in my journal I haven't gotten to yet supposedly about people who have done some analysis of glycerin. They claim apparently (I have yet to read it) that it takes a few infusions to max out.

So I was thinking a lot has absorbed but it is so thick that once it absorbs it is not coming out. Even as I roll it constantly and agitate it there is no getting it in and out of the plant material. So instead I am going to try this weekend to squeeze it all out and then put the stuff all back together again. Kind of like cleaning a sponge. Soak it then squeeze it, soak again and squeeze. If it aint to messy I want to try and do it once a week to see if I can get the goods not on the surface out of the plant material.

:peace:

Nice pic V.I.,
I was thinking along the same lines but decided to stir it with a spoon every day. Of course, then somebody's gotta lick the spoon:thumb: ..
I really like the coloring and taste of these glycerin products... gonna be some nice looking tinctures.
After reading how you need to run the process up to three times to fully saturate the glycerin I thought I'd try to use a big ole baggy of "once ran" product left over from various batches of alcohol tinctures and already vaped weed (I hate to throw anything away :) so I am going to run them a second time with EverClear and if I get anything at all I'll concentrate it in the distiller seems how I can recover 80% of it now. Seems worth the try.

I bought one of these before even getting to my first oil harvest. Instinctively I knew this was the way to go. I have a paint strainer I plan to toss in there to hold the plant material as I press. I liked the idea of leverage.

I make edibles with already been vaped(ABV) weed. I prefer the taste.
ABV also comes fully decarboxylated :)

I bought a bunch of paint strainers on line for cheap but have not used them yet. I like that they are disposable so less mess to clean up.

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

I got my gallon from amazon yesterday and topped off. So diluted a bit but now she is full and that helps I think keep more in the solution. but I will keep agitating it constantly. It floats up so it is hard to keep it in solution without constantly turning it.

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

I am a bit confused with all the research I have been doing as there are so many options of treatments for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF)

CDB Oil, CCO (Concentrated Cannabis Oil), RSO (Rick Simpsons Oil) and different percentages of THC/CBD in them and all the different ways of administering the medicine, Tacking, Ingesting, Vaping etc…

Can you offer any advice on what type of medicine and levels of CBD/THC and what method of administering it is the best for this type of treatment?

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

Hi Ldesp,

Did you watch the YouTube vid of the woman who treated her IPF with Pot?

It was posted here in response to your original post a few pages ago (3 times, I think).

I would advise, after watching the video, to tack 3 times a day minimum at equal time segments, and vape as many times between tacks as possible. Start with small doses and increase frequency and dose size as tolerated until as strong and constant a dose as possible is attained.

A 1:1 ratio THC to CBD would be most effective at covering all the probable treatment effects, with the oil made from the whole, top shelf, plant flower.

CCO, CO, RSO, CBD Oil....can all be considered the same as long as the oil is made as described above and end up at about 90%+ cannabinoids and 10%- being other plant materials only. Nothing else in the oil.

You should use a Sativa strain/s to make oil for daytime use and use Indica strains possibly mixed with CBD high oil for nighttime use. Usually only a pure Indica strain is used for oil at night for good sleep (I don't know if the CBD's would interfere with sleep).

I hope this helps....I gave away my Indica oil today, so I'm awake to write this!

'M' is Mazar oil (Landrace Indica/night) and 'D' is Sour Diesel oil (sativa/day). For uniformity purposes.

Again, my heart goes out to you as you attempt to find an effective treatment for your elderly relative diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. I know you wish him the best life possible.

I just reviewed pages 120-124 on this thread which is where you last asked about this and the responses back and forth. I will try to summarize:

We don't personally know of a case of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis being significantly helped by cannabis, and if we did it might not be exactly the same disease because by the very word Idiopathic, there is something 'unknown' about the cause (although medications are suspected) ---

However -

Many, many disease have been effectively treated with Concentrated Cannabis Oil(CCO or RSO) administered by the Tacking Method, including lung diseases. The most likely CCO to be effective will contain up to 60% THC and 30% CBD, a 2:1 ratio.

If you live in a state where Concentrated Cannabis Oil is legal to sell, it is available at some dispensaries, it can also be made at home. Many people on this thread have made it, and do make it by this method:

How to make Concentrated Cannabis Oil by 420 Motoco

Tacking is a treatment method that is one of the most effective treatments, a little bit complicated to get right, but well worth it for the ability to deliver a large amount of medicine, a true medicinal dose, to the body.

Cannabis Oil Tacking Method by 420 Motoco

In addition to the main medication, Tacking with Concentrated Cannabis Oil, his pain and other symptoms will very likely be significantly relieved by 'vaping' cannabis. In vaping, a cool cloud of cannabis is inhaled into the lungs. Vaping the dry herb is the most common form of vaping, although a dispensary may sell a vaporizer setup, (for example an oil vape and vape oil) that is more convenient to use. Any form of vaping will be effective. Any form of marijuana/cannabis containing THC will be effective.

The THC in sativas is good for alertness and energy, promoting healing, and relief of major symptoms such as pain and worry.
The THC in indicas is good for relaxation and sleep, promoting healing, and relief of major symptoms such as pain and worry.
Sativas are often called daytime meds and indicas are often called nighttime meds. Marijuana used recreationally and medicinally to get high are sativas, indicas, and mixtures of both. There are literally hundreds of strains of cannabis/marijuana being grown and sold. Daytime meds and nighttime meds apply to both tacking and vaping. If you can only afford to start with one strain of meds, thats OK, start with just one.

As well as Tacking and vaping, healthy diet and a healthy mental state are really goood 'medicine.'

Personally, I urge you to work with your relative and make a commitment to Concentrated Cannabis Oil as the main treatment for his disease and vaping for symptom relief, mental state, and quality of life. I further suggest calling medical marijuana dispensaries within driving distance of your home/ his home and asking them whether they sell Concentrated Cannabis Oil, the strength, the strain(s), and the price.

I wish you all the best and hope the answer I have made here helps you in your search for optimal health.

Thank you , John

Good morning to you.

I can't speak with the authority and experience you (and others) have, so I am glad I didn't mess that answer up too badly. I've been reading and learning. It is only in trying to explain it to someone else that I am able to see the knowledge and terminology that I have absorbed here.

Bless you

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

Are there any additional benefits to using the tacking method to take oils besides not getting high? I was reading on Rick Simpsons website and he recommends just swallowing it and offers dosage guidelines to work up to 1gram per day and a few tricks to hide the taste. Dosage Information « Phoenix Tears | Rick Simpson ... My father wont mind getting high so if the only difference is that, then swallowing it would be much easier. So as long as he is ingesting 1 gram per day or more is it all the same if he tacks or swallows?
