re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge
I am a bit confused with all the research I have been doing as there are so many options of treatments for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF)
CDB Oil, CCO (Concentrated Cannabis Oil), RSO (Rick Simpsons Oil) and different percentages of THC/CBD in them and all the different ways of administering the medicine, Tacking, Ingesting, Vaping etc…
Can you offer any advice on what type of medicine and levels of CBD/THC and what method of administering it is the best for this type of treatment?
Again, my heart goes out to you as you attempt to find an effective treatment for your elderly relative diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. I know you wish him the best life possible.
I just reviewed pages 120-124 on this thread which is where you last asked about this and the responses back and forth. I will try to summarize:
We don't personally know of a case of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis being significantly helped by cannabis, and if we did it might not be exactly the same disease because by the very word Idiopathic, there is something 'unknown' about the cause (although medications are suspected) ---
However -
Many, many disease have been effectively treated with Concentrated Cannabis Oil(CCO or RSO) administered by the Tacking Method, including lung diseases. The most likely CCO to be effective will contain up to 60% THC and 30% CBD, a 2:1 ratio.
If you live in a state where Concentrated Cannabis Oil is legal to sell, it is available at some dispensaries, it can also be made at home. Many people on this thread have made it, and do make it by this method:

Tacking is a treatment method that is one of the most effective treatments, a little bit complicated to get right, but well worth it for the ability to deliver a large amount of medicine, a true medicinal dose, to the body.

In addition to the main medication, Tacking with Concentrated Cannabis Oil, his pain and other symptoms will very likely be significantly relieved by 'vaping' cannabis. In vaping, a cool cloud of cannabis is inhaled into the lungs. Vaping the dry herb is the most common form of vaping, although a dispensary may sell a vaporizer setup, (for example an oil vape and vape oil) that is more convenient to use. Any form of vaping will be effective. Any form of marijuana/cannabis containing THC will be effective.
The THC in sativas is good for alertness and energy, promoting healing, and relief of major symptoms such as pain and worry.
The THC in indicas is good for relaxation and sleep, promoting healing, and relief of major symptoms such as pain and worry.
Sativas are often called daytime meds and indicas are often called nighttime meds. Marijuana used recreationally and medicinally to get high are sativas, indicas, and mixtures of both. There are literally hundreds of strains of cannabis/marijuana being grown and sold. Daytime meds and nighttime meds apply to both tacking and vaping. If you can only afford to start with one strain of meds, thats OK, start with just one.
As well as Tacking and vaping, healthy diet and a healthy mental state are really goood 'medicine.'
Personally, I urge you to work with your relative and make a commitment to Concentrated Cannabis Oil as the main treatment for his disease and vaping for symptom relief, mental state, and quality of life. I further suggest calling medical marijuana dispensaries within driving distance of your home/ his home and asking them whether they sell Concentrated Cannabis Oil, the strength, the strain(s), and the price.
I wish you all the best and hope the answer I have made here helps you in your search for optimal health.
