Candy Canna Multi-Strain In Candyland

You also , like I said I have to catch up . I know where your at with the millwright work , your working 24/7 wouldn’t want to do it again unless they want to send me back to Canada just to watch the product run ! Catch you later .
I don't blame you. I really love it though tbh. It keeps my mind sharp, which really helps these days. ;)

I made a duct tape mock-up for the placement of the sticky traps.
The gnats don't stray far from the pots. With better placement you will catch a lot more of them.

I was speaking with Shed and he led me to a post from @Carcass regarding the use of the BT bits. Maybe it will help.

This is how Carcass describes it:
--------------------------
I just throw 1/4 of a dunk in the 5 gallon bucket every 3 weeks or so to keep the gnats away...
If I have an active gnat infestation, I'll use half a dunk in the bucket for a little more killing power, then
I go back to 1/4 of a dunk to keep the grow space gnat-free...
A quarter of a dunk is equal to 1 tbsp. of the bits, if you decide to do it this way.
The reason I do it this way is that it takes 24 hours for the bacteria from the dunks to populate the water, and I don't want to have to fill a gallon jug 24 hours in advance of when I water the plant, so I just treat 5 gallons at a time, and the water is always ready to use..
----------------------

Food for thought. If you don't see any improvement with the change in nutes by the weekend then you may want to consider starting over. :(

Hi Candy love the Valentines pics and Friday’s
:thanks:
Hate hearing about the gnats that was my worst enemy in hydro
Yesssss they suck so bad! Thing is I’ve had them worse in the summer and never any problems like this that’s why I’m thinking the soil was already populated.
I haven’t been on here as much as I like .
Completely understand and we miss ya!
I’m gonna have to back up in your thread make sure with the @MrSauga didn’t throw any new tricks out there I missed .
He’s always busting some awesomeness out!
I’d gotten ecoworks ec from 420 prizes and it’s for soil but I haven’t heard of anyone using it
I’ll have to check that out!
I’ll catch up later on these beautiful girls .
:thanks:
Can you stop it from oscillating?
Yeppers!
You want a constant breeze over the top of the soil so they cant land
:thanks::thumb:
2g's is where I would start. Flush her good with water before adding it to get rid of any nutes from before
Will do!

Sweet this is what I use and do

Yeppers I’ve always got at least a gallon ready with the bits that have been soaking.
Food for thought. If you don't see any improvement with the change in nutes by the weekend then you may want to consider starting over. :(
I’ll give all of this a try and we’ll see what happens..sure will suck to lose any of them :(and will be my first time ever killing a baby other than one I dropped when I was doing hydro on my very first grow.
Thank you again :hugs:

Too bad about the gnats Candy! Thank goodness we have Mr.S and Vg around to help out!
I don't know anything about identifying or treating gnats, Ive never had them which is surprising considering I've had just about every other issue you can have in the garden lol.

Amen to that!
I don't know anything about identifying or treating gnats,
I’m usually pretty much able to keep things under control but having them populating so heavy in the soil the plants are already in is a first. Normally I’ll get them in the spring and summer and they usually come in the house from outside when the doors are open. The bits and flypaper are normally enough. Having unknowingly used pre-populated soil I’m just doing the head smack :thedoubletake:

Lucky you on the nats but don’t feel bad on the other issues! I think many of us are riding the growing roller coaster :laughtwo:

Hi Candy!

Sorry about the gnats, I loathe them!!!

I used it as a foliar spray for one week. Sprayed two times and my soil once and absolutely nothing since and I had been pretty prone to those little buggers as @West Hippie knows.

I'm not doubtful at all that it will alleviate them :peace::passitleft:

Here is a link to one that has used the eco works ec . She’s been out sick but she’s back this morning if you have any questions on it .
:thanks: I looked it up and how it works and what’s in it and I’m wondering if the Neem oil I have on hand would work..:hmmmm: Neem oil talks about working in soil and I know it works on other critters.. could be worth a try! Thank you for shaking my brain awake with this. :D I’m gonna give it a try at lights out! If it doesn’t work I can order the other.
@Krissi1982 I was typing this out exactly as you were posting! :laughtwo: :thanks: so much for the info. If this Neem oil doesn’t help I’ll definitely be ordering the Ecoworks. It’s not on the Zon and I’ll have to check my local hydro shop but I did find it at another hydro shop online.

Maybe they haven't mailed off the one for this last month yet and I can have them send it to you? If not, PM me if the straight neem oil doesn't work and I'd be happy to send the bottle to you when it comes

That's too funny!! :laughtwo::laughtwo: no problem, happy to help someone get rid of those damn things. They didn't affect my plants any but were such a nuisance to have around. I did bombs and pellets and eventually, ladybugs last grow. I saw the one this grow and then nothing. So...just lmk!!!:green_heart:

That is so very sweet and would be awesome but how could I compensate you for the shipping cost?

This is the first time they’ve affected them like this and it’s absolutely horrible :lot-o-toke: I’m so very happy to hear how well the Ecoworks is working for you! This could be a game changer:green_heart:

Seriously? It doesn't weigh much and you're in the states, not going to be crazy! Easy post office ship!

That is so very sweet of you and would be sincerely appreciated. Hopefully the Neem will work but I’ll let you know if it doesn’t.:) :green_heart:

Candy & Krissi I found this that ought to help
I just did some reading on neem oil. Apparently there are two different types, clarified hydrophobic extract of neem oil and cold pressed neem oil. Cold pressed neem oil contains the natural compound azadirachtin whereas the clarified extract does not. Azadirachtin has insecticidal properties as explained below. Clarified extract of neem oil kills only by smothering. I recently bought the clarified extract but I will buy the cold pressed neem oil next time since it also has insecticidal properties.

Awesome information thank you West! She knows where to find me if she needs it!

I have cold-pressed Neem oil, undiluted. I bought it from a soap making company and the bottle came unlabelled. Any idea how much I should use in how much water?
