Boo and I’m sure hoping to get the babies sorted soon!Candy! WOW, what a beautiful tent full of flowers! Simply gorgeous. Your little babies do look like a few are struggling….not sure why but I hope you get it sorted soon.
N!The flowering girls are gorgeous! That frost on the KKF is amazing!!
Thank you N, they are actually due tomorrow for a top dressing so hopefully that’ll help! Those babies with the yellowing leaves would probably benefit from a bit of food
I’ll definitely be happy to see this round of seedlings in the rear view! I’ve never had this bad of an issue in my babies before! The seedling stage is always a bit stressful for me, I’m always glad to see it in the rear view mirror
Bubba!Your GSC is looking especially superb
C!Your plants are always so happy and healthy, candy...you are such an amazing grower!
for that awesome tip! I’ll definitely give that a shot! They’re due a top dress tomorrow but I could bump that out a day, which wouldn’t hurt anyway since they could dry out just a smidge more. That little BB- to me, that looks like an iron def- I had 2 seedlings do that years ago- something you might try, is to fill a water jug, drop a nail in the water (non- galvanized) for 24 hours before you water the plant with it...if it is an iron def-, that'll fix it, if it's not an iron def-. it won't fix it, but it won't hurt anything either.
Just a thought...
I have a ton of nails in my garage but none were non-galvanized. I did some reading and GWE recommended Calimagic in their article for suspected iron deficiency. Do you think that would suffice? It has 0.1% iron in itdrop a nail in the water (non- galvanized) for 24 hours before you water the plant with it...if it is an iron def-, that'll fix it, if it's not an iron def-. it won't fix it, but it won't hurt anything either.

HG! This is a first and hopefully last issue like this!Your plants are gorgeous, Candy! Sorry to hear you're having seedling problems. It's one of the trickiest stages in my opinion but I have confidence all the new seedlings will thrive soon.
They are about 27-28” from the top. I started out way higher and they started getting leggy so I slowly started lowering them until they quite getting leggy. I’ll post the pics of the type of light it is below. Oh and they are at 100% and the DLI reading I got was around 170. I’m not at the house at the moment but will double check when I get back. What type of lights are you using Candy? How high are they from the tops?
I honestly don't know, because I don't know how much iron a rusty nail would put into the water.Do you think that would suffice? It has 0.1% iron in it
Ok so the lights are 27” above the canopy and using the Photone app the Par is 173 the DLI is 7.6 and the LUX is 9500 and I took some more up close picsWhat type of lights are you using Candy? How high are they from the tops?
I dialed the light down to 6800 LUX and they’ll get their 1st top dress tomorrow. Fingers crossed the rest of this ride goes better! My feeling is they are getting hit with too much light right now. I think the leaves are bleaching. Seedlings are very sensitive at this stage to light, and you are outside the recommended lux levels for that stage.
If it is a nutrient problem then I'm afraid I won't be of much help since my level of experience involves synthetic nutes, but regardless of the problem you should dial the lights back. The height is fine, you could even go lower, but you need to keep the lux in check if doing so.
I don't use the apps, so I can't say what the true value is, but it's all you got to go by for now.
Here's a link to convert your lux to PPFD if you find you need it.

Set your light height lower at the very beginning will help. Adjust it so its around 18"-24" above but not getting more than 5K of lux. You'll have to adjust the intensity accordingly for the height. This should help with the legginess.I started out way higher and they started getting leggy so I slowly started lowering them until they quite getting leggy.
Thank you for the tips! I usually don’t have this issue with them but these are new and different lights then the blurples I used to use. I assumed just switching from blurple to white light there wouldn’t be much of a difference but we all know what assume means. With the blurples I had they were usually squatty and I did want a little bit of height but not quite what I got These ones do have a dial on them so I can go from 0-100% which is nice. I’ll definitely pay more attention to the LUX as well. Thank you again for everythingSet your light height lower at the very beginning will help. Another method is to start them under a seedling lamp, such as a led strip. This allows you to keep the light just above the tops to keep them from stretching. Once they have their second set of leaves you can introduce them to the stronger light at the correct lux levels.
@Virgin Ground turned me on to some seedling lights last year and they are awesome. I think they were $20 on Amazon. They are just thin panels and have zero heat coming from them. I’ve used them for all of my seedlings and have been extremely happy with the results - and the price is great! Lemme know if you are interested in checking them out and I’ll DM you the info.Thank you for the tips!
