Candy Canna Multi-Strain In Candyland

Silica is usually bumped from 1.5ml/g to 3mls/g at around 30days in right?
Normally I run 30ppm of silica for the first thirty days, once feeding has started. Then I bump up to 50ppm until flower, then I drop back down to 30ppm.

He calculated it and I believe it is about a month in they max out at the 3mls/g
Maybe I confused myself back then. So it would be 3.5mL/g(we probably rounded down) for the first thirty days, then 6.3mL/g (6mL/g) until flower, then back to 3mL/g until harvest.
If you are off on the measurements that's fine. The stuff is expensive, so you have to find what fits in your budget.

:thanks: I’ll bump them up on their next feed to 6mls/g then until flower then bump them back down to 3ml/g! I was worried about overdoing it but now I see they can handle
Quite a bit. Thank you again for everything!

Good morning, MrSauga.

From what Candy posted about silica, I understand that it's good for the plants. However, I was trying to use silica to beef up the stalks so that I didn't have floppy plants (I hate floppy plants). I've been adding 1 ml/litre of silica. I'm using Grotek's Gro-Silica, which is made up of:

GroTek Gro-Silic (Available Silicon (Si(OH)4) .......... 44.0%, Boron (B)(actual) .......... 0.009%, Molybdenum (Mo)(actual) .......... 0.0015%)

With the above dosing info that you posted, will using the silica I have stop the floppiness?

Also, @candycane - I noticed that you've topped your plants already. Could you please tell me when you top and why?

:thanks:

Highya Candy .
Sheesh. I haven't gotten any notifications about this journal.
You've been back since before Halloween?

Glad to hear your surgery went well.
Take it easy lady.
:hugs:
Good to see you around here again.

Hiya HG.
What silica does is increase the size of the cell walls of the plant. This allows better uptake of nutrients.
Silica does not prevent floppy plants. Small buds prevent floppy plants.

Stop growing huge buds!!!

Although you will see a sizeable difference in the stalk, the secondary shoots will always be what they are. So really adding more silica does not guarantee a non floppy plant. I used to think the same until I understood it a bit more.

Hope that helps. I'll get back to you tonight on how much of the gro you should use, to keep in line with the target values I set.

Sorry HG I just realized you asked this! I top once the 5th node is completely out and I top the 5th node off then I remove nodes 1&2 and leave nodes 3 & 4. I top & train to make more tops, plus it gives shorter bushier gals.

Thank you, candy.

Yours didn't look tall enough to have 5 nodes so I thought you were topping lower than that. I like the idea of removing the 1st and 2nd nodes since their leaves always seem to be lying on the ground.

That’s one of the main reasons I top that specific way, but sometimes when they are short when their leaves get fat and bigger I have to still work to keep them off the ground.

Update
I took the photos yesterday but didn’t get to post em!
I’ve currently got them all on 3gr/g MC , 3mls/g Silica, 5mls/g Calimagic , 1tsp/g Aloe
The growth seems like it’s starting to finally pick up. I think I may have kept the wrong CK..she has been very petite and growing slow but maybe seems like she’s trying to get it together the past few days..
I get my bandages off and staples out tomorrow! Very ready for that! I hope everyone is well and thank you all for stopping by! Much appreciated :peace::love::Namaste:

And not a bad leaf in the bunch! Great work, Candy!
I hope the staple-pulling goes well tomorrow, and it's not as painful as it sounds...

Hope the cleanup from your surgery went okay today.

Your garden looks wonderful. Remind me again what the KKF is? I'm interested in the Pre-98 Bubba Kush as it has the terpenes I like. It's on my wishlist at some point.

:thanks: It wasn’t too bad but a few of em sure smarted  feels better now without them tugging under several layers of wrap! Still healing and started doing my at home PT exercises and slowly getting range of motion back but I’m not pushing too hard as my arm is quick to remind me to chill! :hugs:
Like unwrapping an early Xmas present.
Fingers crossed they got all the bits back in the right way up and stuff
Absolutely! Yep it seems they put all the bits back correctly! :hugs:

:thanks: The KKF is Killer Kush Fast! I’ve grown her before and have been out so it was definitely time! The Pre-BK 98 is another one I wanted more of!
Niiice! I hope you're doing well Candy. Just in time for the holidays.
:yahoo: Great stuff Candy! They look awesome.
:thanks: I’m hanging in there and doing better day by day! :hugs:My daughter will be down next weekend to help me get the Christmas tree and other inside decor up! I normally do it on Thanksgiving but just gotta suck it up a week :meditate:My hubby has been taking awesome care of me and made us an awesome Thanksgiving Dinner today!
Also thank you for all your help! They have really started to take off!

I hope everyone who celebrates is having or had a wonderful Thanksgiving! :peace::love::Namaste:

Update
:ciao: I just realized how long it’s been since I posted! It’s been a lil busy and I lost track of time! Also sorry I’ve been a lil quiet when visiting journals I’ve been off a lil this past week. The garden is chugging along. The girls were looking very hungry so I bumped the 4x4 girls feed up to 4gr/g MC, 3mls/g Silica and dropped to 2mls/g Calmag. The 2x4 girls were bumped to 3.5mls/g MC, 3mls/g silica and 2mls/g calmag. They have had 2 feedings of their new feed so far and on the next one I’m going to try and drop the Calmag completely as I normally don’t need it and see how they do.:meatballs:
I hope everyone is doing well and I appreciate you stopping by and for your company!
Here’s proof of garden life!
