Cafe Racer Outdoor And Indoor, Perpetual Grow

The leaves cupping over like that are a classic sign of "over-watering" or more correctly stated a lack of oxygen in the root zone which happens when the media stays too wet.

You've got enough root there to pot them up. What kind of medium are you putting them in to?

Well I can understand it for my outdoor plants cuz the nights got cool, rained quite a bit and the ladies do spend some time each day shaded by the house. Yet even my indoor plants are showing. Guess I will have to cross my fingers and hope that I get 4 nice clones from the 7 that I have.
Photo period plants should be triggered into flower by lengthening dark hours, not cool temps or increased shade. I think it's like 14 hours of darkness but most of us indoor growers do 12 just to be one the safe side.

I've not grow outdoors but it seems like well after the summer solstice (which we haven't even reached yet) the plants gradually get triggered as the number of dark hours slowly increases.

At least that's the info I've read. You're not growing autos, are you?

No bro! These are photo.
Maybe I put them outside 2 weeks too early, yet my other 2, 2 weeks later, still showing pistils.
Live and learn, jumped the gun, I guess, so to speak.
Then again. I wouldn't mind an early harvest.
Thanks, Azi!

Did you have them under lights inside on like an 18/6 timing? That could explain it since in that case the dark hours would have just increased dramatically by putting then outside. And if so, you're going to have one confused plant since its night hours are decreasing once again only to reverse in another few weeks.

Thank you, Azi.

They were on an 18/6. The first two were put outside 3 weeks ago but the last 2 were put out last week-end: sun-up 5:30, down 8:30. 15 hours with time in the shade so a definite decrease in light.

Yet my indoor plants still show the pistils (yet not as pronounced), 18/6, temp in mid 70"s. ( photo)

I did start my indoor perpetual at the same time as my outdoor. Could it be that I jumped the gun and started my outdoor 1 month too soon? It is Canada after all! 45 minut drive to New York or Vermont, but Canada all the same.....chilly.

Again, Thanks Bro!

I got kinda the same thing going on. Im close to the 49" parallel western canada

This is the amount of daylight end of April. So give or take 10 hrs of dark.
5:55 am ↑ (66°)8:30 pm ↑ (294°)14:byebye:03

This is going to be June 21st Summer soltice. give or take 8 hrs dark.
5:10 am ↑ (51°)9:24 pm ↑ (309°)16:riskybusiness:49

This is going to be September 30th. Give or take 12 hours of dark. End of the season.
7:14 am ↑ (94°)6:56 pm ↑ (266°)11:cooltoker:54

I had mine indoors under LED in Feb, march, end of april at 18 hr light 6hr dark. So as soon as they where in the ground their days got shorter but nights got longer as well, progressively until summer solstice Longest day But still 8 hr dark so 2 more hours longer nights than when they where indoor. After summer solstice day get shorter and night continue to be long even longer by end of september at almost 12 hours of dark (completely ripen flower).

So I'm be too worried if the plant is in preflower hormones, I interpret that as a sign of maturity in that pheno and that it is just waiting the for right photoperiod to enter flower and continue to ripen.

What is interesting is seen all phenos preflower both indica hybrids and both sativa dominants.

I am trying to wrap my head around it, but well, live and learn. The plants seem to be doing fine just early showing preflowers.

:passitleft:

No Azi, they do not. How would I keep them wet?

I couldn't find Eazy-Plugs and the shot glasses where a perfect fit for the Qik-Rooters.

I have two that are struggling. Should I snip the 2 leaves that are not healthy?

I was up at 3 am and applied some foliar spray. Lights on at 6 and this spray need to be applied when lights are off for some reason.

Have a great day Azi and thanks for the inquiry and response.
Good morning Scott hope your enjoying your weekend. :ciao:
Your clones in the shot glasses look like there is water in the glass.
Fortunately one looks to have roots.
If they don't have roots water in the glass will actually slow growth.
If she has an easy water source she is in no hurry to send out roots looking for water.
After 3rd day I let my coco cubes dry out a bit.
Pisses them off so much they start roots to look for water.
And when they have roots you don't want it too wet either.
Wet roots are lazy, they can't be bothered growing because they have a steady source of water, no need to expand and search.
Also wet rootscrot and go mushy.
So slightly damp at best.
Pour the water out and squeeze off the access.
Then those floppy heavy leaves will pick up.
The one with roots can go in a solo cup.
Keep up the good work my friend.

Stay safe

She may be displaying her sex but I don't see pistils.
Your good for light, I'm a little west of you.
My girls are still in full veg mode.
They have been living on sunlight for a month, no issues turning to flower.
Except my 7" high auto, fek.
Hate autos, hehe.
I'm getting a solar led for a little extra light at night, so I can catch up to you.
Hope your enjoying your weekend my friend.

There you go. And the plants respond to darkness,  not decrease in light or temperature changes as far as transitioning to flower. The dramatic increase in dark hours triggered them, but since they're outside now the nights are getting shorter for them for the next few weeks so expect them to start throwing funky leaves as they try to re-veg. It'll be an interesting next 6 weeks or so to be sure! They're going to try to transition back to veg and then back to flower.

Most likely pre-flowers, but not full on flowering. It's not unusual for mature plants still in veg mode to show sex before you actually flip them. Doesn't mean they're flowering though. Just very ready for whenever you do.

Your timing is a bit off, is all. (Missed it by that much! Lol)

Ideally you would put them outside at the very least after the summer solstice (June 21) since at least at that point the nights start getting longer each day. But I don't start indoors and move to outdoors so you'll have to look to that type of grower for better guidance on getting that more dialed in.

Thank you, Bill. I hope you had a productive weekend. Will be looking in on you in a few minutes.

I guess I don't know what pistils are then. I never heard of solar LED's. How many watts are you looking at?

It's not a grow light.
It's a white LED that is solar powered.
But it will keep them in veg at night and improve growth.
Probably only 100, watts zon has them.
I'm going to need help if I'm going to catch up to you. ;)
Had a good day with Howie yesterday.
Hope everything is going well this morning my friend. :ciao:

Wow! I never stop learning from you and @Azimuth .
So this white LED stays on all night?

Thanks for the answer Bill. I follow a few people and didn'e see the last 2 responses
P.S. I started April 4th.. So no, you won't catch up to them in soil but your coco grows have grown legendary (re: Jack Herer).
Hoping that your weather is better than mine this weekend. I was about to prop Julie's branches like the pic I posted on your grow but it started down pouring. Down to a drizzle now, she needs help.
STOP RAIN STOP!
Take care.

Luckily, my plants were mostly protected except for Juile, The first pic.
Candice to the left did just fine.
Fiona and Ida (2nd pic) did just fine, protected from most wind but not a crapl oad of sun now that the surrounding foliage has filled in but still confident.
Gigi, (3rd pic) totally unmolested by the northwestern wind. Glad that I grew her somewhat horizontally. Am pretty sure she is a she now and seems to be blending in with the veggie garden. :slide:

When the lights go out they produce a hormone that switches their growth to flower mode.
I used to leave a led dead low in my veg room.
Twilight it's called, I was experimenting with veg growth rates.
But the point of it is if you reduce the amount of flowering hormone produced you can improve veg growth rates.
That's the plan, we will see what arrives from China.
The last one was terrible, hopefully this one works.
Hope your having a great day Scott.
Talk soon.

Hi Bill, that's good to know. I believe that my better half has some she doesn't use untill winter for the living room house-plants. She looking for them as I am replying. :slide:

Thanks again for the 411, my friend
Take care.

Happy weekend, my friends! I hope all is growing well with you.

Needed to do some indoor changes due to the robustness of my quadlinings. I relocated Hannah ( my smallest ) to put Deidre and Eve straight under my 2 - 100w vivosuns for better central lighting. I took Bills strategy and added 4 "white LED's" above the plants 24/7.

The 125w I was using for my clones and eventual Bonzai Mother is now being used for Hannah, in the corner just left of my closet.I still need to aluminum foil around it and maybe lower the light?

I moved the little ones under 2- 32 watt fluorescents. I have never used them for cannabis before and hope that 18 inches above the canopy is OK.

I also took a nice "rooter" and put her into a 4" square pot for Bonzai Mum. This will allow for an easier "shaving" of the roots for when they get up-potted, according to the thread.

BTW my friends. Pardon the beer cases. Couldn't return them during Covid so I used a few for the shelving then donated the rest untill recently. They take them back now for a refund.
Do you think I should lower the fluos?

All around, I am thrilled by this grow in comparison to my past ignorant grows. I am SOOOOO grateful to those who are helping yet @Azimuth and @Bill284 have been crucial to my potential success. You guys are the greatest!:thanks:

Have a great weekend and take care!:Namaste:

Hey Scott. :ciao:
If they are rooted they can take more light.
But until they are rooted mild florescent is best.
Also the domes, I find they go mushy if you leave them in too long.
I'd get them off as soon as I could.
You will have to do it gradually in stages.
But any girl with roots should be open air.:Namaste:
Just 2c.
Have a great weekend my friend.
