Cafe Racer Outdoor And Indoor, Perpetual Grow

Good afternoon gents and I hope your weekend is full of sunshine.

Took advantage of the weather and up-potted Fiona and Ida in 30 galon pots to join their sisters Julie and Candice. This will allow me to up-pot my 3 indoor grows; Eve, Deidre & Hannah later on, due to a stiff back. Because of said back, I put them on 2x2 foot plywood with casters. Those buggers must way close to 200 pounds when wet.

Due to the pots' massive sides I mixed it with only 25% miracle grow, half a bag of shrimp compost each and the rest with garnening soil with a bit of nutes (.02-.02-.04%). Layered the bottom with perlite. I just gave them 1 galon of water each mixed with Cal-mag and Gold Roots Excelurator. Forecasting rain on Monday and Tuesday. They will all get some 20-20-20 next watering.

As suggested, I sprayed the roots and sprinkled some pure mycorrhizal inoculent around the sides and gently patted it so they wouldn't fall off the sides. Added the rest of the soil, minus an inch. Sprinkled more inoculant then topped the soil. It is amazing how Julie and Candice grew in the last 2 weeks.

Also, I would like to welcome @danishoes21 to my grow from Canadian Growers Group and friends. The more the merrier and an extra set of eyes is always helpful.

Compare them with their sisters that were put outside 2 weeks ago. They are really taking off.

Thanks for stopping by, gents. Have a bit more work to do and will share the results shortly.
:thanks: :Namaste:

Thanks for the warm invite brother. Let me say that your plants are really healthy and have all the looks of champions. The direction you're taking them will lead to a massive haul end of the season. Looking forward to that. :circle-of-love:

Its cool that I found several canadian growers being active, I remember when I started using the chat here not many canadians.

Lookin mighty good Scott.

I'm a Canuk as well, from the west.
Lived in Calgary and Jasper. My 30 year old daughter is about to move to Vancouver. She just got certified as a funeral director. Gonna heve both her and my youngest over for the day tomorrow. May be the last time in a while that I will see them both together. Empty nest syndrome, I guess.
have a good 1 Scrog and grateful for your participation.

Finally done the indoor up-potting with my own training pots. Might be too much for my flower space so worse comes to worse, will flower one early and put the girl outside'. Same as my outside with the calmag and root exc., and a powdering of inoculant. Haven't even ate yet and it's almost 8 pm here ( so excited) . The beer did help stave the hunger off.. lol
As you may notice by the trays and pots, I work with sheet-metal. ;)
I still have a few middle leafs to cut, did a few but I think I put my lil' ladies through enough stress fo 1 day.
Again I thank you all for your continual support and encouragement, have a GREAT Sunday! :Namaste:

Congrats on the succesfull repotting :bongrip:

Big plants with lots of soil can be challenging to handle with anything breaking.
They are gonna love the extra space. :thumb:

Nice looking pots you made there! :goodjob:

How do those handles work? Seems like it would be a nice feature for the larger size pots.
Thank you, Azi!
I put the handles on the larger ones since I need to bend over more when they need trimming to pick them up. Damn arthrosis in the lower spine, crushed discs to boot.
Just a little experimentation, can always modify the sizes for future grows.

I couldn't find the easy plugs you used to I bought 50 Holland Basics Quik-Rooters and put them into shot glasses.
Hi Scott. Awesome plant, I think she chose her training style more than you, that sicko (aha-hahaaaa). Nice job so far, inspirational. Really.

OK, enough buttering you up... I wonder if you might be up for a favour?

I used Holland peat plugs for 5 Indica-heavy plants, "God's Gift", and they had severe issues from day 1. Worst was, as always is, rooting, one even rooted upwards - exclusively... possibly to escape a terrible fate it sensed below.....

At four weeks they looked like the victims of an ongoing, slow-motion, alcohol fire. An invisible flame but unstoppable burn-like necrosis pattern. Nute burn...

I gave them under 250ppm, max. Routine was just 100ppm of GH calimagic. But they showed no space between nodes, and unstoppable fire creeping up every leaf mercilessly, it was awful.

Anyway, eventually, I tested my plugs because it was the only thing I had no control over. I measured 450ppm from one, fresh from fridge, plug crumpled in 60 ml of 10-25 ppm water that sat only 90 sec. before test.

I don't know if that's the answer to what happened, but it seems a lot of min. salt for something germinating in. I wanted to tell you, even though I'm sowing doubt that may be unfounded, and it is certainly not a pleasant experience. For that I am sorry.

If you have a ppm meter I would be interested in a retest on your plugs. I have contacted the retailer but of course, they know nothing, do nothing. I emailed 'Holland' too asking if there are ferts or chems that account for it but nothing firm yet from them. They hypothesized that a shipment could have been contaminated, but also will not confirm that the levels are irregular. Ugh.

Now, new seeds, using coco in breathable nursery bags, inside net cup, in dwc, everything is fine, on or ahead of sched. Very little else is different, so I don't know what to make of it. I'll be getting back to my journal asap, just with other plants than advertised (such grower hijinks), hope to see you there, I know I'm going to always enjoy your journal.

Thanks, bro! My girls do look quite promising for my first attempt.
I do not have a ppm meter, have no idea what they are about.
My clones are looking alive and well but no visual on the roots after 2 weeks.
Let me know when you get back to your journal, would love to follow it.
Have a nice Sunday,
Scott

So I had one plant that germinated when the rest didn't, last February. Gigi the gorilla glue. Was a seed from an outside grow 2 years ago, so sex undetermined.

Horizonal grow with both ties and anchors along with some bending to keep it low.
Hopefully, with pictures close to flower, someone will sex it before it can pollinate but otherwise, no big loss.

Good day to all, Happy Friday!

This is my first year using Lonex and Gold root excelerator and have a good comparison due to the 2 weeks difference of when they were clipped and the larger one was done before I got the solutions.

The one on the right was started 4 weeks ago with no solution, the one on the left, 2 weeks ago with clonex and gold. Some others are getting a tad yellowish and a tad brown, do you think they need foliar spray? Have to stay up later to do it lights out if so.
IMG_20220610_clones.jpg

Went outside to check on the ladies and was suprised to see what I think are pistils already, also my indoorbut less pronounced. They are only just over 2 months ond and we haven't even had summer solstice. I wanted to nab a couple more clones in case cause I need 4 healthy clones. One to give and 3 for my perpetual grow. If I have a 5th, I will try a bonzai mother.
Would I need to shock it back veg with longer lighting?
If so, can the clones handle. My only other available light is reserved for my flowering space.

Opinions and suggestions always appreciated gents. :Namaste:

Have a great weekend. :slide:

Stay safe, wear one.

Do those glasses have any drainage holes?

Happy friday and weekend. I jump right away with the same remark, not even summer solstice and already pistils??? all my phenos are doing the same, even the sativa dominant... Could it be related to the weather changes ? I can only explain this to a enviromental condition, not enough sun, rainy days, and mildly cold nights, resemble a lot the indian summer or beginning of fall.

Also I cloned my phenos like 2 weekes ago and the clones have pistils now! Im like WTF? can clones show pistils at 2-3 weeks old? also I have them on more than 16 hours of light. I know they carry the same genetic code as the mother but pistils? they cant even grow a full set of leaves.

Anyways, I guess we are off to an early season harvest. Could be goods news.

:peace:

I know right? I dont get it why they preflower so early in the season.
Well I can understand it for my outdoor plants cuz the nights got cool, rained quite a bit and the ladies do spend some time each day shaded by the house. Yet even my indoor plants are showing. Guess I will have to cross my fingers and hope that I get 4 nice clones from the 7 that I have.

Do those glasses have any drainage holes?
No Azi, they do not. How would I keep them wet?

I couldn't find Eazy-Plugs and the shot glasses where a perfect fit for the Qik-Rooters.

I have two that are struggling. Should I snip the 2 leaves that are not healthy?

I was up at 3 am and applied some foliar spray. Lights on at 6 and this spray need to be applied when lights are off for some reason.

Have a great day Azi and thanks for the inquiry and response.
